My Favorite Hiking Trail

- Spruce Flats Falls is my favorite hiking trail in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park (GSMNP). It is only 1.4 miles round-trip and takes about an hour to complete. There is ample parking and the trail is well marked. The terrain is rugged at times even though this is such a short hike. The waterfall is gorgeous and worth the effort if you have the opportunity to visit.

It's not too bad, but the trail does get rough in a few spots. I really like it because it is a short hike, and ends at a really nice waterfall.

As soon as I saw your thumbnail, I knew exactly where you were! It’s our favorite place too and we try not to tell anybody about it so it doesn’t get too busy ha ha ha I personally think it’s one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the Smokies.
My favorite for sure. I should have kept it a secret. Luckily my channel is small so there won't be too many people who see it. 😁

Hi Pierce! I don't really know. I only started hiking about 3 years ago, and I've hiked many of these trails several times. I'm working on the "900 mile hiking club" for the Smokies, but some of the trails are in NC, and others require camping overnight due to the long mileage. I'm hoping to knock that goal out in the next few years.

It can be, but nothing like Laurel Falls. I always try to get there really early to avoid the crowds. 🙂
