Both games are beautiful. The one from January had some nice windmill action, but luring your opponent to a losing royal fork takes big time.
    I #vote for Stavroula.

The game by Max was very good. But I definitely prefer this one. There is something magical about walking into a fork like this one. Kudos to Stavroula for an amazing game.

What a sad moment for a player, when even the strongest move recommended by the engine (in which you grab your opponent's queen!!) is still not enough to win.

that's what a studied engine move will do for you.

    • @meocaott

engine is correct, the player blew it.
instead of 8:20 Qxh1 she should make f5. then Rxh5 Kxh5 if Rh1 then Kg5 if Nxg7 Rf7 and either white knight or bishop will be lost.

It wasn't even a true queen sacrifice, it was a temporary sac, giving back the queen was forced.

@senneverhave2589 You BLUNDERED into a legendary victory!😂😂 Frankly, if you realised it was a royal fork after making the move I think you would have had a heart attack and resigned rather than play on😅. I would've.
My brain didn't even consider Qg3 at all. Even now, after seeing and knowing that it was the best move my hand mutinees when my brain tells me to make that move. You need more than "Hearts and Minds" for this one. You also need "Stavroulium"
Something tells me that for Stavroula this was just "Tuesday".🎉
From now on I will treat all GMs with distrust because even if they offer me a royal fork I might still resign 6 moves later😂😅
Respect to Stavroula and Nataliya for a game I'm never going to forget!🎉😊

Max's sacrifice was stunning and the tactics flew everywhere, but it feels like with that initiative you can almost see it coming. Stavroula's sacrifice is just coldblooded. Straight up sacrificing your queen out of nowhere.
Jergus was probably more like 'bruh... Really?'
I can't imagine what Nataliya was thinking the moment she saw the move.

@michaelmassaro4375 She followed a previous game exact moves for 21 moves. Meaning she memorized it. The queen sac came from the engine recommendation as it appears to be obvious in this game. So I believe it is brilliant if no engines were used but that's probably not what happened. I'm not trying to take anything from her as she is already a good player, but following move by move of another game for 21 straight moves and even repeating exact moves makes this one a no brainer that she used an engine for this queen sac and all else was not hard to remember as there is a forced mate or big material loss.
