"So God made the vault and separated the water under the vault from the water above it. And it was so" Genesis 1:7
You can't separate waters without a physical barrier
"Then I looked, and, behold, in the firmament that was above the head of the cherubims there appeared over them as it were a sapphire stone, as the appearance of the likeness of a throne" Ezekiel 10:1
Dr Craig is wrong. The firmament was portrayed as a solid dome.
Furthermore the reason the plural form of "elohim" is used in Genesis is because in ancient cultures, including the early Hebrews, the heavens were understood to mirror the earth. So like in Egyptian, Babylonian, Sumerian cultures, the Hebrew creation story was crowded with entities. Much later when they because monotheistic, the plural form was retained but the other beings were reduced in stature to angels etc.

@@richiejourney1840 Yes, so the firmament was something other than the atmosphere.

Meaning no personal disrespect ma'am, there were no Adam and Eve. Genesis was most definitely borrowed in part from other cultures. Craig is also completely wrong about the Flood story.
