I hope you revisit that puzzle, and i have i hint for you. It is just a 3x3 mod like the mastermorphix, and you can solve it exactly like the mastermorphix (the petals are the edge pieces and "the center" of the pyraminx, along side with the hidden pieces inside each petal are the corner, and the big edge pieces of the pyraminx are actually the center pieces of the 3x3)

You should try Python on a mirror cube.
i think the vertical stripes are prettier if you do the pattern, turn 90 degrees and do the same pattern again.
