I loved the game. It is too short. Imagine being so dumb that you think you need to think about mario odyssey at all in order to form the opinion that astro bot is too short.
I was on a voice chat with someone while playing the game, and it did the same thing, honestly found it annoying that I didn't get to actually engage with that interactive element.
I don't own a PS5 but watching others enjoy this is like an anodyne for the soul. It's created solely to bring joy and happiness and that's something people sorely need in the world now.
The quality of this video is better than some others that I’ve seen by channels with 100 times the subscribers. Good luck with your channel, man, and keep making these intelligent reviews
3:07 I've been pointing this out because nearly every video says the same thing. Honestly hasn't been that long since we've had these style games and in fact we have gotten one every 2 years. Sackboy A Big Adventure (2020), Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart (2022) and Astro Bot (2024). You can also for some degree include Astro's Playroom.
10:56 - Just a quick note on blowing into the controller mic, if you have it muted then it'll just automatically engage the wind blow as though you'd blown into the mic. If you're like me and have the PS5 settings to default the mic off when you turn on a controller, you might not even realize those sections exist at all. I only knew about them because Astro's Playroom, if I remember correctly, *did* require you to unmute and blow. This is not the case in Astro Bot, though. That said, great video. 👍 Really enjoyed your take on the game.
Not once did I put the controller down playing this game. Like you said no long drawn out cutscenes or walking segments. Just great fun! I’ve had enough of cinematic games. I just want fun games. Also give me Gravity Rush 3 Sony! GIVE IT TO ME!
My only issues with this awesome game are as you said: 1)Camera rotation is noticeable slow 2) The lack of using certain Power Ups, like the mouse, I had a BLAST with that level but that Power only applied there, it saddens me cause its such a cool mechanic. Duration actually is really good, in contrast with open world games are kinda repetitive so for me thats not actually enjoyable, this direct short fun is good, also Im not like the maniacs who speedrun every damn game and complain its short. The fun is to enjoy the trip
I think Astro Bot has sent a clear message to the industry and we're going to see a sort of return to PS1-3 era design philosophies mixed in with some of the more modern styles that have taken off in recent times
This game is the kind I’ve waiting far too long for PlayStation to make in ages. I got truly sick of their games being so bleak with thoroughly unlikeable characters. Not to mention horrible business practices that hurt studios. This adorable robot who makes me happy is all I needed. I want the mascot platforming genre to make a full comeback. I don’t want it to be just Mario and Sonic. There are too many old franchises that deserve a second chance.
Astroboy looks a LOT like a cross between Mario Sushine, Mario Galaxy, and Mario Odyssey, just with a robot Sackboy. It's pretty, and it's probably fun, but it's certainly nothing earth-shattering. It looks fine. Just fine.
This is what I always been thinking and saying a game shouldn't be cutting Edge but use its power to make fun not be cutting Edge in graphics like making a game a game that just be fun for everyone a game shouldn't be completely competitive just a simple fun game you can play over and over and over it's why more people more companies should took a lesson from Nintendo make fun games not make anything competitive
Astrobot came to save Sony after Concord nearly pushed them off the cliff We should slow down with the realistic games and give out more variety, seriously.
If Astro Bot is a big success it might convince PlayStation that we need more Double A budget level games as well stuff like Jak and Daxter or Sly Cooper..but if Naughty Dog remaster The Last of Us or Insomniac take another decade for a Rachet and Clank game over Marvel..i will become the joker 🃏
@joelbarraclough6689 these companies never react to this stuff like gamers think they should. They usually just keep doing the status quo. They arent gonna go "omg people like astrobot let's change everything". Gamers have been complaining for over a decade about stuff and we just get more of it. How naive can you be
So… sony took a page out of nintendo’s playbook… again. Finally, they’re learning… now if only they could launch an affordable console, that is actually available..
Gamers are all saying‘developers take note’ when people turned away from these kinds of games years ago and mocked them as being for kids. If the gaming landscape is filled with lifeless giant open worlds it’s only because that’s what people wanted for a very long time ago. There have been joyful and fun games being made all along, it’s just that your niece or nephew was playing it while you were playing a super serious hyper-violent piece of trash Activision or Ubisoft farted out
@@giogames13 You’re the problem. You’re the one begging for PlayStation games, when you can just buy a PS5 and play whatever you want. Anti-PlayStation gamers don’t deserve any PS games, especially Astro Bot, a game that celebrates PlayStation history
People complaining the game is short don't realise its the same length as mario oddysey without the repetitive maps
@@petebagwell6666 plus this is a game I’ll happily replay each year for a while

It’s longer

If it is medicine I had a overdose twice
Not only does the game leave us wanting more. The more is coming and it will be free.
if you turn your mic off on your controller, you don't have to blow into it for the wind sections, they happen automatically.
Thanks, I didn't realize that.

Thank you, that really means a lot!
I'll prob never play this but the AstroBot VR game on PS4 was probably the most fun I've ever had playing any game
I am unable to play it as well. But if i ever get a ps5(which i intend to) this is one of the games that i will definitely buy.
I can’t emphasize enough, you are severely missing out and doing yourself a tremendous disservice by not playing this.
Especially if you liked that then you are a clown to not play this 🤡.
Bro if you think vr fun this IS PEAK OH MY GOSH BEST 60 bucks ever spent this generation
@@Waponzi I paid $60 for a Roblox girlfriend and this is somehow better.
Great video and review! It really does have that late 90's-2000's platform game feeling. You shouldn't be this small, hope your content blows up soon!

if you mute the controller mic you don't need to blow into it for the wind segments
If you put the microphone of the controller on mute all the blow on the controller segments will be automated so you don’t have to do it
pro tip: if you turn off the controller's microphone, the game will "blow" for you. This also works in Astro's Playroom. 11:04
