@@teambridgebsc691 Its very close to liverpool, but at rhe other side of the water. You can get the famous Mersey ferry, the U boat used to be part of the ticket, might still be when it re opens.

No wonder why they kicked ass to the rest of the world for so long. Absolute German perfection and made to last!

Wow the Germans really knew how to build stuff to last , even the torpedoes were still lethal . all those years under the sea.

Some comments on a couple of the items shown in the video:
The item shown at 03:47 is a type Ka or Kb warhead, presumeably removed from one of the G7a(TI) torpedoes that were recovered from the wreck (it was attached to the torpedo before it was delivered to and loaded on the uboat).
The head has a tool mounted in front: The gerät nr 336 "Schutzkappe für kopfstück des Gefechtskopfes" (protecting cover for the pistol-pocket). This was not a standard tool for uboats, as they would normally have a plain cover for this purpose. Tool nr 336 was mainly used in workshops etc for handling/moving the heads in vertical position (as displayed here), which of course never should be happening onboard a submarine. I presume someone attached it after the explosives was removed.
The item in the foreground at 05:10 is a torpedopistol, type Pi 2 (combined magnetic/mechanical igniting mechanism) which was used with type Kb warheads. It was obviously not mounted on a warhead, but kept in its storage container due to the fastening-bracket still present (typically, you'll see this bracket kept on in museums when the pistol is mounted to a warhead, as most museums don't have a clue... :-/ ). The container was presumably discarded after the pistol was removed for safe rendering (ie removing the ignitors and the boostercharge).
To the right is a part of a Pi 4c pistol, as used with type Ke warhead (ie for the G7es(TV) and G7es(TXI) torpedoes). Below, next to the Pi 2 pistol is a part from the acoustic seeker of the Ke/Kf warhead, and next to that a torpedo gyroscope (I can't see if it's a standard GA VIII or a GA VIII Lut).
At 05:12, there's a type GA VIII Lut II torpedo gyroscope in the back, behind the Enigma-module.
At 06:34 you can see the "Frankenstein" G7es(TXI) torpedo behind the engine-piston (it was actually put together from parts picked from all of the 6 torpedoes found aboard after the wreck was raised, but still missing several parts). Of course, the painting (including the colour) is not correct by a long shot - too bad that this item was treated that way and is displayed outdoors, as it's the only one of it's kind today (the remaining parts from all the other torpedoes were scrapped). The TXI torpedo was one of the last torpedo developed and put into service late in the war, probably with only a couple hundred produced. As far as I know, U-534 is the only case verified to have these torpedos loaded for a patrol.

Man, you know your torpedoes! Some great info here, thanks.
Talking of restoration paint...some of the items were cosmetically restored a while back and some of the colour choices are...interesting. There's a pair of binoculars in what I can only describe as a mustard orange hue. Not the slightest hint of green/khaki, it looks like fake tanning mousse!
Fortunately the G7es should be permanently under cover once the museum plans are finished. We may have to consult you on the paintwork...

Funny how literally no other warship museum on earth felt the need to cut their priceless artifact into pieces. Mikasa in japan was blown in half, sank to the bottom of the sea, was raised, encased in concrete, spent a generation as a disco roller derby, its country was nuked twice and is in better presentation today
And not just that, they have an extremely rare torpedo that less than 100 were produced ever, and none were thought to have ever been deployed operationally at sea. Is it being carefuly conserved in a lab? Presented in a building with artifacts? At least in a tent? No, its sitting on the floor in the english rain and snow, growing moss, with seagulls perching and shitting on it. This museum ship is a crime.
My local hometown museum ship was also a submarine, the USS Cod. Not only was it recently dry-docked for hull repairs and inspection, it has fully functioning diesel engines. Throw some screws on it and it could go to sea.
