- Gregory and Travis McMichael were arrested 74 days after an unarmed Arbery was shot dead and after video of it leaked. They say they were acting in self-defense. Arbery's mom is seeking justice.

Gregory Mcmichael wasn't allowed to arrest anyone as an investigator. He failed to complete his certified training over multiple years and was stripped of his badge and gun. He was on desk duty until he retired because he couldn't comply with the standards that came with the title.

There is no comparison of these other cases to this case. The Affluenza case was a driving under the influence that he killed 4 other people. Of course they are going to send him to rehab. And of course people are still bringing up how they brought Dylan Roof to Burger King to eat. They did that as they did not have a kitchen to feed him. All prisoners still have to be fed. Where is it that they never looked into Dylan’s criminal record? Whether it is a victim or the criminal, police do a background check on everyone. All of these cases happened in different states. Different states with each state having their own laws for state charges. Federal charges are the same everywhere. Just the same there is no relevance between these three cases.

mike derocco you need to have a legal basis for making a citizens arrest. The had accused him of burglary with any evidence or proof meaning that the “citizens arrest” had no merit and was never a reason to try and enforce one. Nothing was found on him and even the homeowner of the construction site said he did nothing wrong and nothing was stolen, that’s why he didn’t report it to the police. They followed him with guns all based on an assumption. It was two against one anyway the guns were never needed they could have fought like men not p***y’s. They should be sentenced to death for murder. They aren’t the police and aren’t in a position of authority. Ahmuad had allegedly been to that site multiple times and not once did he steal something.

I say abandoned because the house was left open, anyone could have gone in even me. I would have gone in to make sure everyone’s ok, after all this is America who leaves a house open even if it is under construction. I would have thought someone must’ve been sick or injured. I've been out for walks many times walking through my or other neighbors. And stoped to look at new construction. I've did that out of curiosity. To see how the house is built. When in was 12 and 13 we use to play in New construction sites. I'm a Italian/white mix. I think what we have here is definitely a racial motivated crime. I believe we need to start looking at how do we all react at people when they are a different color . AND stop playing sheriff, Especially when there not on your own property. Much to learn here very sad...

I am a black man and when my house was building I would go there often to see the progress. I went there one day and the drywall guys (white guys) asked me how I afford the house. A white lady after we lived in the house told us she would go into our house and look when it was being constructed. The fact I am pointing out here is common for people to see the progress of a home being built.

JasonUSA if he’s already jogging why should he feel he needs to stop. He tried to run around the truck but they already planned their box in the minute they called each other to hunt him down. If multiple people pointed guns at you are you just gonna keep walking and get shot in the back? If a person with a gun is a few feet away from you are you just gonna stand there like an idiot and have them shoot you like that? Sensible people fight for their lives. He wanted to jog away and continue his daily routine but instead he had three men with guns hunt him and recording it like the disgusting people they are. IvyOracle the video isn’t even clear enough to see what he was wearing. His family stated that he went on a jog around the neighborhood everyday. So to me, I would consider him a jogger. Doesn’t matter anyways. Greg and his son admitted to the crimes, they were arrested, charged for murder and assult, and they are looking at federal hate crime charges as well. Their accomplice William Bryan will likely be charged for assisting them in the murder as well. They shot a man 3 times for no reason. They deserve no mercy.
Ahmaud's mother prayed for help about her youngest son's death and look what has happened so far. Just wait and see what happens. He sits high and looks low.

I could tell she wasn't reacting the way I thought a mother should react to the death of a son. The reality is she probably knew something like this was going to happen to him eventually. He chose that lifestyle. Really not much a mother can do but pray that he straightens himself out eventually. Did he deserve to die? They did not identify themselves. We did not know if they were armed. They were held at gunpoint until the police arrived. My husband could have shot the one that tried to run bc he was afraid. Turns out they were doing a survey and got lost in the woods. In the Ahmaud Arbery case, the cops lied. The elder McMichael was already a disgraced cop. It wasn't his property. Further, with their mentality every jogger in GA would be murdered.

The driver and his son had passed Ahmaud while he was jogging and they waited on him and the driver got out of the truck with a shot gun and Ahmaud tried to protect himself from this man who had got out of his truck and presented himself a threat to the jogger. Yes it is a Hate crime. In every video that is available online shows even more clarity to and even more footage, like in this caption it shows that the video was being recorded by someone who was driving behind the scene. I do believe that the person who is driving behind Ahmaud video recording should be also investigated. I seen another video that was more lengthy and it showed the driver's son standing up in the back of the truck with a gun and appears to be ready to use it. Ahmaud was not in a vehicle to attempt to steal nothing, no weapon on him, and appear to be jogging. And these two men is vigilantes for the neighborhood, but when asked what was the street that the incident was taking place, the caller to 911 said he didn't know. The caller to the 911 the shooter had already shot and killed Ahmaud before the call had been made to 911 operator. It was a Hate crime and should be charged as such. Even the video recording driver appears to be involved and it looks like Ahmaud was running and blocked in. The guy William 'Rodie' who was driving behind cell phone video recording should be arrested investigated and or in jail.

Justice needs to be done in this case, this young man went up to the house for there is a toilet outside and it appears the house is Open under construction, he was just looking at the floor plan.

Fact: the neighbor replied with, “no he’s dead”!
Fact: the homeowner said the murderers had no way of knowing what was on his camera footage
Thus, their reasoning to justify this murder is null and void

No you should listen to the whole recording, get this he says this guy was here before it's an ongoing thing we told him not to come, they can't even tell black people apart. And get this the night before one of the guys in the neighborhood put on a black face to look just like Arbery took surveillance video and then filled out a police report about it, and they had the audacity to say they had to let him go because he looked like he was armed and kept putting his hand in his pocket.
Good thing the 'news' channel edited that part out and left out the whole 'he was told not to come' because that would make his coming in to just have some water look bad. You can clearly see that Arbery was tired in the video he was walking slowly to the house then stopped to catch his breath looked around for a tap saw one in the house then immediately started sprinting when he got rested. That is what you do when you do a 12 mile jog, sprint as fast as you can.

An improper citizen's arrest that resulted in someone being killed. I'm sure the person leaving happy hour after a few drinks didn't mean to run a red light and kill someone, but they aren't allowed to skate with a reckless driving charge while there is someone laying dead in the crosswalk.

My friends 13 year old son was walking around with a squirt gun that looked like a REAL gun. Somehow the cops got called and his mom said to the police “please tell my son u will shoot and kill him over this”. And they wouldn’t say that, even though it’s true. We live in the south.

Coming from my sister-in-law, who has more than 20 years in criminal law in Florida with thorough knowledge of Georgia criminal law, for him to only get probation for unlawful gun possession, especially in a Georgia "School-Safe Zone", the courts would have determined he had no intent/malice possessing the gun and that he had no prior behavior to indicate he was a threat to society. Otherwise, he would have been sentenced to 2 to 5 years minimum in prison, especially in Georgia. His shoplifting and subsequent obstruction associated with the shoplifting probation violation was so minor, they didn't even bother extending his probation, let alone send him to jail. Basically, the probation violation was essentially 'thrown out', but on record. Just some stupid life choices.

Police would have arrived, unnecessarily tased Arbery and booked him for trespassing and anything else they could drum up to discourage him from entering that neighborhood again. Nothing would have happened to the McMichaels other than a pat on the back. If the report is from local police, then that investigation will get reexamined because their investigation as well as the local district attorneys' is flawed and/or necessarily suspect. There should be some penalty for the local law enforcement's handling of the case if the GBI reached a dramatically different conclusion. There is surveillance video of other people who had no business on the property but McMichaels only called 911 and pursued black people. It's also easy to Monday morning quarterback but you have to see it from Ahmaud's eyes in the moment. To him, it looked like a lynching, chasing him down and cutting him off and then training a rifle on him. The rifle was already aimed straight at him with finger on the trigger by the time he was passing on the other side of the truck. When I put myself in Ahmaud's shoes in that moment, his action makes sense and I can imagine how scared he was. When faced with death, do you get down on your knees and take it quietly like other historical lynchings or do you go down fighting? He was alone with no one there to defend him. Arbery had stand your ground rights just like the McMichaels. The McMichaels and others have culpability for creating the conditions of the incident so it will be interesting to see how this plays out. Maybe there is only a case for civil damages beyond false imprisonment. So, maybe the McMichaels lose their house to the Arberys in civil damages and punishment. I suspect the Arberys are more interested in criminal justice than civil punishment, though.

You will see those 2 guys waiting for him till he gets close to their truck and then Arbery tried to get away from them by running around the passenger side of the truck than one of them tried to stop him by going up to him once he got to the front of the truck. Arbery got scared and went to grab his gun. So the man did shoot him for self-defense. But they did not have any right to stop him, they should of just called and waited for the police. These 2 guys were just trying to be heroes and make a citizen arrest because the farther still thinks he's a cop even though he's retired and believe he stole from the construction site. They don't have no probable cause to make a citizen arrest. Even police officers need a probable cause. I believe Arbery should have never been noisy and enter a site that is not his or public. There should of been a "no tresspassing" sign for him to commit a felony. @@trophix they did call police while he was still inside the house. He took off running the moment he exited the house. Also, Georgia law doesn't require a "No Trespassing" sign on private property (sign or not, common sense to not go on private property).

@Folk Aart It is private property but guess what people so go and look. Take photos, walk about and see the place with its skeletons. I did it when I was kid. Law enforcement has been more of a negative than a positive when it comes to the lives Black people in America. The *Fugitive Slave Act of 1850* is a prime example. It was this federal act that essentially made every single Black American a criminal. If a brother or sister were born free in the north, they were still subject to being stopped, questioned and even arrested without due cause. This mindset of a law still exist TODAY.

@@SOGFLY1 they didn't come at him with weapons at first. In the video, the cops are called while he was in the house. When he saw someone that saw him, he started running the moment he exited the house. He knew he was getting arrested either way and made the dumb decision of grabbing a gun from a concerned neighbor.
