VIDEO DESCRIPTION:
Meet Dritzz, an Alaskan man who lives in a 1986 4-wheel drive Ambulance that he purchased for 5K with only 35,000 miles. This DIY conversion was built around several original components, from the sliding cabinets and electrical switches to the exterior storage space used for water tanks and tools. The interior has a custom murphy bed that folds up to give maximum space in the living area. He chose an induction stovetop, a stainless steel sink, and open shelving for cookware. The laundry and trash are hidden away in a homemade bin cut right into the wall, adding to the unique use of space throughout this build.

Young man you have hit the nail right on the head. NEVER let anyone tell you you can't. It's plain to see that you really believe in yourself, you'll go a long way with that attitude. I can't wait to see your journey, an finally the finished product. Most of all have fun, life is too short to worry about things too much I envy you two. We did our 3 builds when we were young.The final one was a fire rescue van, What a blast we had on the road. BON VOYAGE brother.

I am told that if you contact the original manufacturer they will (probably sell you) provide wiring diagrams. Assuming they are still in business. Good luck, I hope you find them.

that's a foolish perspective, not all negative comments are alike. some negative comments are going to be constructive criticism, offered by experienced people, with hard-won wisdom that is completely germane...not just hating on dude. it's very cool that he did something cool, but imo he's gonna end up having to put a lot of time, and energy, and money into fixing issues that would have been better avoided by making more thought-out decisions early.

@@tammyjantzen9004 l blame the boys. they just don't get things if not spelled out. the men have it down but not the boys. yes, there are females that are boys also (not a comment on gender fluidity here) but l had 3 brothers, two husbands and had a career in social services with keen observation skills on the way people operate. 😉☮
I appreciate the simplicity of your build. I am currently searching for an ambulance to do the same. 4 X 4's are hard to come by in Canada despite our long, often harsh winters. You have proven that you don't require tons of money and expensive equipment to have a comfortable, functional mobile living space. Thank you for sharing your build.
Great start! Shower stall is really a game changer. As with all RVs it's just the beginning in a life of changes. Nice job!
Have you considered switching the library over to where you want the refrigerator to go ' and put the refrigerator where the library is? It is also possible that you can get a chest refrigerator that pulls out when you want yto use it. They aren't as tall as a stand up refrigerator
I love ambulance builds and this is the type I'd like to own. Nice build so far and V2 sounds even better. And that HAIR! ❤️👍

This has all the comforts of home..the gas mileage sucks, but no doubt you will solve that challenge. Here in lower 48 having the 'ambulance' look would create problems I'm sure, so are you planning to paint the outside? Stay safe, and THANK YOU for sharing your home with us.

Great build. Looks so cozy and comfy. Cedar is a cutie! I hope you ignore the rude comments. Some folks seem to hate for no reason. Cedars a bigger dog and it might be more comfy for him to have raised bowls. I did that for my boy on my vets reco. Just a thought. Where are the pink and green storage units from? Happy and safe journeys to you guys! 😊

I was in the middle of building a shuttle bus out.
Total victron solar was installed, maxxair fans, induction cook top, cold environment mini split ac, and heat pump..
A really big tree fell on it, while I was sleeping with doggo.
I'm picking up a 2005 ambulance in a few days, that my bus engine will fit right into.
I can't wait!
I don't need all the space in a 25'shuttle bus anyway.

Great awesome look of the interior. The most important thing is that it looks like a regular home when you come in. Amazing job on the kitchen build and wood interior.
Also the fact that you're an ambulance van. No one will ever try to rob you. They'll think you're a governtment car.
Very smart. You can park at any public parking lot as long as you want or just near a hospital and even security wouldn't bother you.

I love watching these videos, living vicariously through the nomads. And I've seen some beautiful builds. But if I were to sell my sticks and bricks down the road, I would want a simple van/bus build. Without the bells and whistles. So I agree. You don't need $100k to live on the road. Great job on the build. I'd have to have a fridge though. I'm a cheese and yogurt girl and those don't fare too well without one. (;
What she said; plus indoor potty/shower. Am not so much a rugged outdoor type (some physical issues); not a fan of scoop & poop.
The wood work is cool. That's a big Induction stove. Did he use the same cabinets the height seems a bit short?

This has to be one of the best builds ive ever seen! Its like it has everything that youll need besides a bathroom but even when you put that in somewhere it seems like you'll still have room!

What a good job. I used to work in an ambulance though and would find living in one not for me. I like standing straight with some space above my head.
Ive mentioned my interest in building out an Ambulance to my EMT/Firefighter daughter and she just says, “eww!! Mom!! The bodily fluids alone! Never mind the trauma and probably deaths that have occurred in there!!”. Any thoughts on that aspect of living in an Ambulance??
@@mettamotycka6028 hopefully he disinfected everything with bleach! God said leave the dead alone so I would not even think of that aspect.
