      No, I work in residential construction here in Calgary. People are moving here from both in and out of country at way too high of a rate. Builders cant keep up which has caused many to use bad materials, bad workers, and usually a combination of both. Tons of defects, crazy high housing prices now and traffic way worse than jt was 2-4 years ago. We need some time to catch up.

    Ill do one good thing and one bad thing- Good was Loved how clear and precise the video was shown through real life examples in a concise manner, bad was a little stretch on the topic of a specific program in the university/colleges, could have been more focused in general topics and then could have gone specific. Overall- very specific and very informative video!

  • @Rhysman30
    @Rhysman30 Год назад +1

    To all the people looking at moving. Before you come out here, please please please understand we get like 8 months of winter; real winter; not west coast winter. It's bright sunny skies all day, but it's bitterly cold (-40 to -20 with occasional chinooks). During these winter months most people aren't going out to do things, there's a good chance you'll feel extremely isolated and alone. If you can steel yourself against these factors, you're golden. It does get old though much like how the west coasts dang-near semi-permanent overcast gets old.

    Calgary is expensive, the fact it is slightly less so in comparison to huge price hikes in the rest of Canada over the last decade dosen't make it less so. Unemployment is high, cost of living is high, we don't share the same definition of culture, cost of studying is very high, Banff is so expensive Albertans can't even afford to visit it! They all talk about attracting young grads but how long does that last. At 30 years old you will probalbly still have student loans and these Alberta companies won't see you in the same light. How come no one mentioned the homeless sleeping in downtown Calrgary beside the ritzy glass office buildings? how come no one talks about racist encounters (granted they are less in Calgary than the rest of Alberta) How come no one talks about no place to grow career as many companies have small offices or shutting down their branches. To me this is just propaganad and a sales pitch and it should be called that in the description

    In my opinion, Vancouver is still the best city in Canada, and in terms of opportunity, Toronto is still much better. Calgary is a good city, but there is less opportunity. It's more affordable than Vancouver or Toronto, but if you can't find a job, what's the point?
