These women would have been born in the 1870s. That’s just amazing to me that I’m seeing people jumping, laughing, smiling, running and enjoying life born 150 years ago.
More like 1880's. None of them looked to be over 25

Several years ago, my Amish neighbors hitched their horses to their sleigh and gave my son and his friends a ride around the neighborhood before the snow plow cleared the roads! They had a wonderful time!
My aunt and uncle lived in a snowy Northern Canadian town and took us on an old-fashioned horse drawn sleigh ride through the snow complete with sleigh bells and Clydesdale horses, it was magical!
What a nice thing to do for someone. Bet it was quite the enjoyable experience for him.

There's something so sweet about seeing all this ladies have fun in a really innocent way, like a child getting excited when they know something that really makes them happy is coming ♡
That's the most fun thing I've seen in a long time!
All the photos from that time seemed so stern and nobody smiled. This makes it all come to life and it makes them look so happy! Even in those long skirts they still were wild young ladies that enjoyed life.
They didn't smile in photos because in those days it was considered that to smile for no reason made you look like an idiot.
@@matildafaltyn6253 Still cameras also had limitations. In some cases, you had to sit very still for a period of time so the camera could catch the image.
@@auapplemac1976 Yes, that is the main reason. A still photo often required a few seconds of exposure to obtain a high-quality image.
They didn’t smile because they had to hold still for a longer exposure, and smiles looked fake if you froze them.

I almost cry how beautiful the old people life with out phone and internet. They played together and have fun. I hope God blessed all of them 😔

I was alive in the 80s, and the only cell phones were the giant ones that only 'yuppies' had, and homes didn't have the internet.

Wonderful! My grandmother was eight years old when this was taken. Living in Northern New England, I've been on many a sleigh ride though we never tipped over! Great fun!.

It’s amazing how much fun they’re having falling down. Nowadays there would be a law to wear a helmet, sign a waiver to not sue if you fall off, and dire warnings that such activities could cause serious injury or death. And all the girls would be taking selfies the entire time.

I have some hearing loss but I can still hear so I rely on minor lip reading just to make sure what I'm hearing matches up, especially during movies/videos... this didn't match up very well when you COULD see faces clearly... but that shrieking?? Maybe there was some screaming but it looked more like laughter and talking than anything else. The video was cool and I appreciate the effort behind it but if that's the extent of AIs ability to predict sounds/ speech from video... they've got a long way to go! If it's just a human effort, I'll give them a pass;)

This is my era! I have such an incredible obsession with all things Edwardian.
I cannot believe my eyes that those college girls have passed away a long long time ago, but they look so animated as if they`re still alive. I feel I can meet them somewhere in the world today.

It’s actually really sad knowing not one person in this video is alive. Their history, dreams, worries, experiences, memories, love lives, laughs and cries all gone. Now just memories for us to view in a video. There’s a feeling of “sonder” when you watch these types of videos.

Lol... the part where they all ganged up & covered him with snow 😂 I’m 63 going on 30. I will still do this in a heartbeat. I have always missed my childhood memories of growing up & although there is not as much of these simple things going on now, if I even see these simple reminders anywhere near me, I will ask if I may join in. I’m a big kid when I see a beautiful Snowfall or the 1st Apple on a Tree. The 1st butterfly or Hummingbird, & then you have the wonderful night sky’s. Get outdoors folks, even on summer nights & sit out late during the full moons, even if you need a small throw to cover with. Soak it all in & never ever get tired of it. Stay young with your thoughts & the little things that bring you joy, & that for the most part are as they say-Free 😊❤️

Oh I love this 💕 normally you see photos from the Victorian era and they just seem so stuffy in them. To see them laughing and cutting loose in the snow is so much fun to watch. A great glimpse into our past.

This is my great-grandparents' generation. My grandfather was born in 1906. It's eerie to watch this, even though the young women are having so much fun.
This is one thing I can find positive about the pandemic is going back to a more simple life, not feeling so rushed with high sky bills and overworking jobs. I hope people get a chance to go back to connecting with each other and remembering the beauty in shared laughter and nature. This video made me cry and smile bigger than I have in a while.
