  • Designed by company-founder Lloyd Baggs, the new L.R. Baggs AEG-1 is a sophisticated acoustic-electric that includes the company’s new HiFi Duet pickup system. Using an innovative and patent-pending internal superstructure built within its composite poplar body, the guitar has a traditionally X-braced spruce top and an Indian rosewood back. In this video, Peghead Nation’s Teja Gerken demonstrates the guitar!

I love his demos. I just wish he and EVERYONE else that demos a product like this would demo TOTALLY unplugged as a reference.

Always enjoy Teja's playing and demos. I was fortunate to find the torrefied top version of the AEG-1 from a small independent shop when they were still on backorder from most dealers. I've had it for a month and I grow to like it more every time I pick it up. It won't replace my D-55 or vintage J45, but it's the perfect solution for on stage acoustic amplification. The build quality and attention to detail is first rate. Near zero fatigue, even after playing long sets.

doesn’t sound appealing to me. Sounds like there’s a blanket over the speaker.

You should check out the other videos out there for the AEG-1, as this particular video has the worst sound out of all of them and does a disservice to the guitar.

@@jackbandel I don't know which videos you watched, but the ones I've seen all sounded excellent. For example. Gary Roberts has videos comparing it to acoustic guitars from Collings, Emerald, Gibson, Martin, etc., and it compared very favorably: www.youtube.com/@gair1944/videos
Premiere Guitar did a video that sounded excellent:

L.R. Baggs' own channel has some nice videos too that sounded great:

Very poor sounding acoustic guitar. Not comparable with the real acoustic guitar like Martin, Taylor, Lakewood, Maton, Collings, Gibson and Yamaha. Very poor. Don’t misguide the acoustic lovers.

It's a stage guitars, not a couch guitar... nobody mislead anybody. My RainSong Jumbo aren't the best couch guitars, but they are the best stage guitars I have ever heard,(LR BAGGS Stagepro Anthems). Do you play on stage?
