just keep your eye on it, no need to replace whats not bad. i check my quad once every month for play in my wheels and swingarm, when there is some play then replace them
Hi,I have 97 400 4x4 prairie and anything seems tight.do i just wait for the seal & the front bearing to go or should i replace the front bearings instead. my video of the prairie.thanks
mine has a clicking sound when i turn it sat for prolly years i have changed every bearing in the rear and oil seal could that clicking be from the swing arm bearing going bad
Oi got a 99 Kawasaki prairie. It's leaking oil bad. I figured it was an oil seal but I don't know how to tell. The rear rubber boot is full of oil, is it supposed to be? If so it leaks oil all from the back on the frame right below where the swing arm attaches. Any help would be much appreciated.
400EX99N It appears to be engine oil. But is what i dont understand is where the transmission hooks up on the left, the right side is leaking oil. And it appears that my rear gear box is now leaking too.
Airsofter1010 the transmission is in the middle and back of the motor.it may be the seal where the output shaft comes of the motor that connects to the drive shaft. and leaking down the drive shaft tube to the rear gear box. try unclamping the drive shaft boot and see if there is oil in there.
400EX99N Thats what i did. I unclamped the boot and oil poured all over the ground. I can take some pictures or do a video for you, to show whats wrong?
Thanks for the video. I have a 2004 700 Prairie and I have a little more confidence in getting the bearings replaced myself now.👊👍
It'll be nice if you actually showed how to replace the bearings
Thanks for the part number sir
That sucks, for a how to video, you didn't show any how to, before and after

Still have it?
same thing just happened to mine the bearing went on the swing arm i hope it dosent cost too much and isnt too hard to do
clicking when turning most of the time its a cv joint. i would check ball joints a arm bushings and steering stem bearing
Can you send any info on how the bearings, o-ring, spacer, etc goes into the swing arm?
Was there play in the back and that's why you knew swing arm? I'm experiencing an issue with mine and trying to figure it out

MrRednek24 it's probably the u joint (drive shaft)
not the cv joints they are in good and it is only in the rear and if the hole thing is off the ground it dont do it

there should not be any oil in the boot. is engine oil or gear oil?

Yes a video would be great. But I think it will be the seal on the motor where the shaft comes out and attaches to the drive shaft
Do I need spacers I just ordered a all balls kit is that all I need
everything should be in that kit
400EX99N spacers , bearings ,seals , bushings ?
