What am I talking about?
My topic is the KE-Jetronic injection system which I try to demystify as much as I can.
For all of you to understand the system in brief - Developed in 1973 and being mounted into cars up to 1993 as it went in history. But why these to letters!?(KE) K(from German "kontinuierliche Einspritzung" meaning continuos injection, without interruption) the MECHANICAL injection system on which the fuel starts flowing from the fuel tank sucked by the FUEL PUMP and delivered to the FUEL DISTRIBUTOR which sends fuel to the INJECTORS while the majority of it flows through the FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR through its return line back to the fuel tank again. The letter E(elektronische Gemischanpassung/electronically controlled mixture adaptation) has to mark the electronic sensors (the developement starting from early eighties) which had to inform the ECU about the current state of the engine so that the ECU(Electronic Control Unit) then could create current signal in mA(miliampers) and send it to four crucial components for the system - the EHA(the electro-hydraulic actuator, a unit consisting of a magnet, an electromagnet and a baffle plate) which had to fine tune the engine in each of its phases, the ICV(the idle control valve), the unit which was predicted for the engines perfect idle, the X11(the diagnostic socket) where the duty cycle(the ideal mixture) was adjusted and the X11/4(the code reader) - the socket which from any codes were read if present using an OBD1 scanner.
An extraordinary injection system which could be fully repaired in your own garage using a multimeter and a pressure gauge only for its fine tuning, together with some common tools.

On 190e 2.3, it doesn't crank, no sound:
- Has new battery
- OVP relay is checked & is good
- Ignition switch checked & is good,
_ transmission shifter inhibitor checked & is good,
- All lights behind dash comes on,
- fuel pump comes on.
- No signal to the starter.
So what's next to be checked out?

Ηello, congratulations for your video work. I would like to have your opinion for the following. After regeneratong the fuel distributor for the M102, it is sending fuel to all injectors as soon as the switch is turned on for the fuel pump to begin to operate. But when the motor begins to operate, there is not fuel flow to all injectors. There is not flow for at least one injector. Any advice? Thanks a lot.
Hello. I need your opinion regarding my M103 that’s hunting on idle. I just replaced my EHA and fuel regulator for a new one so I had adjusted the mixture, but now the idle bounces with the aircon off. As soon as I turn on the aircon, it idles fine. Could it be too lean or too rich? Hope you could help me out. Thanks and more power to your channel!
Hello. Replace the potentiometer and calibrate it if you haven't. Concerning the mixture, set it to fluctuate 6.65-7.33V. If no fluctuation, then replace the lambda. If your car is without the lambda then set the mixture to steady 6.65V. Hope these advice help you. Greetings and happy Mercedesing.
Hi. Thanks for the response. I have calibrated the potentiometer already. The duty cycle is stuck at 70% most of the time, but would sometimes fluctuate at 50%. Lambda sensor is only about 5-6,000 kms old. Throttle also cuts off randomly when cruising on highway, it does not respond to any throttle input. Does this and a hunting idle usually indicate a lean or rich mixture?
I’m having this exact problem. But buddy please get a lavalier mic because your videos sound like they’re recorded in a nasty hollow box while you talk

@@mercedeske from experience you just need to have the microphone pointed towards you and try to pad the space you are speaking in with things that absorb sound like blankets. Sound reflects off flat hard surfaces and causes that echoey sound
