One of the best tutorials I’ve seen well done and thank you 🙏 not a job to be rushed it’s w201 heart surgery this 😮 look forward to watching your other videos on the back of this 👍
Excellent tutorial. Thank you. I always put the O-rings on the spring before putting the springs back to the hole. This also works, maybe even a bit easier.
I just finished re-assembling one of these a few minutes ago. Attaching the springs to the plastic caps was no fun. I applied a light coating of motor oil to the 8 o-rings around the center shaft, as well as the bore. The two halves slid together much easier that way.
Question; when setting your air flow plate stop pin, do you use the front of the air flow housing or the rear of the air flow housing to align your air flow plate? KE plates are at an angle, so front and rear are never at same point as far as aligning with inner ring of housing. Using front of car as front of plate.
Hi, your vid/tutorial was excellent. One change I did though was that I installed the metering barrel for the control plunger into the upper chamber first before bringing the two halves together (after installing the new diaphragm and seals etc.). I found if I did it like in your video, I ended up ripping out the o rings on the barrel. It was far easier to guide the barrel into the upper chamber first when I could see the o-rings and adjust as necessary to get the barrel to slide in without problems. The barrel still sits snug on the lower half of the distributor after bring them together and tightening the barrel nut down pulls it in tight anyway. I do have another problem though and was hoping you could offer some advice. After my rebuild, I could not get differential pressure with both control and working pressures reading 6.4 Bar. I actually tore my distributor down a second time to see if I had done anything wrong but it was all good. I then had a good look at my EHA valve and noticed that mine was a clear hole going into the EHA. Online images though show something there. Is there a restrictor present? Your kind advice would be appreciated!
The symptoms are usually uneven running or misfire. But these symptoms can be due a ton of other reasons, so to point to a fuel distributer, u will have to jump connect the fuel pump to run continually with the engine off, remove all the injector lines (8, 6 or 4)from the top of the fuel distributer, there shouldnt be any fuel coming out initially from any of the ports, then very very slowly deflect the air flow plate and fuel should raise EQUALLY in all ports equally. If the fuel distributer fail any of these tests it should be replaced or rebuilt. هلا اخوي منصور
@@TheFlyingMechanicDIY in my case I got an electronic system but no KAT. So I don’t have a closed loop emission system. I am concerned about EHA but is expensive. Something more to check???
hola amigo tengo un 1991 560 sel mercedes benz con el mismo problema de distribuidor de gasolina estoy en mcallen texas tu tendras algono en venta o decirme quien podria ayudarme con ese problema por el area gracias de antemano
Do you use anything for locking threads of plunger seal screw? I did a new o-ring to solve a leak there, the leak is solved, but the seal screw changes after some time of driving! I set it to .6, then later the car starts driving funny and I find that the screw is now .52.
I have a 1991 Mercedes Benz 190e 2.3 4 cylinder I’m about to rebuild the same exact thing on my car do you think it will help the running of my car if I rebuild the fuel distributor on my car???
if the upper chamber is removed will you be able to blow air into the injector ports? i dissassembled mine since no fuel is flowing out of the ports even when the airflow vane is depressed all the way down..strong resistance is felt on pressing down even with ignition off.new pump and filter was instaled
I have the same problem, it doesn't make sense. Mines a 90' that ran when parked 12 years ago and was clearly never opened, I don't know if I should add one back

@@andrewdrevdahl2329 The fuel distributor he is rebuilding is for the KE jetronic system. It has a upper and lower spring however the regular K jetronic and K jetronic with Lambda only have a spring on one side. This is for anyone who sees this comment in the future and asks the same question.
Has anyone ever tried putting a different brand on car example a benz fuel distributor on a Rolls Royce same year and cylinders and type or cast iron or aluminum
I find this piece of automotive technology truly amazing (more of a fan for the basic K-jetronic as its more mechanical). However I wonder if it could have issues more frequently because of the rising ethanol concentration in today's fuel. Do you have any observations regarding this?
Please don’t use Silicone on any vehicle with a catalytic converter, your contaminating the O2 sensor AND the Catalytic converter…….and causing a new drivability problem😂 Thank you for your video.

Great job! Do you know if there should be a 12v on the distributoer plug when I turn on ignition car key??

Will this help with stalling and stumbling when accelerating? I have an 84 380sl
Just rebuild mine, I had to adjust it to 0.4mm, CO perfect, if I set it to 0.6 CO on idle goes way up, 7-8%.
I couldn’t tell what he was measuring when he said that. What needs to be at .6 mm?
Friend, how to adjust the mixture adjustment for the nozzles?
Thank you.

Lovely video! My 260E 1992 has a extremely poor fuel economy, what do I have to check first??? Thank you!
With ke-jetronic u have to start with the electronic system, read duty cycle faults and blink codes if available, see what faults are in the car.

Hey, what height settings should start with the lower adjustment screws? Asking for my step dad.
They dont have a pre setting, i leave them as it is, and if calibration required then it is done on a test rig, by measuring flow of each chamber

How is the timing of each injector done? I miss a link between engine/piston position and fuel coming from the CIS
It is continuous fuel injection, there is no timing .. old days when fuel saving was not an issue

Tks for reply
Turns out the Rolls Royce fuel distributor only has springs on one side finally got it all done

Hi what would be the torque values for the torx screws?
Не подскажите, где приобрести металлическую мембрану?
What product do you recommend when cleaning these components? Thank you for this video, I'm about to do my 190E 16V.
I use brake parts cleaner, and in the last step i use carb cleaner .
Is there any chance I can mail you my fuel distributer for a rebuild? would really appreciate a reply.
I appreciate your trust .. i would love to help, but i have to reject remote repairs cause its hard to tune these without the car in hand .
What did you use to soak and clean the distributor in? I'm going to rebuild mine in a day or so and whatever you used works very well??
WD40 and brake cleaner .. nthn special 😬

We do not have ethanol in our market, but i would say as long as the fuel doesnt set there for long times then it should be fine
You can also use Lucas ethanol conditioner everytime you fill up
Ethanol does affect the original gaskets, as does sitting dry, but most distributer rebuild kits should come the ethanol resistant gaskets now.

I wouldn't recommend cardboard for your build surface. There are tons of fibers to get in the assembly.
You lost me when i saw the power drill....
Why? He just used it to speed up removing the screws no harm done doing that. He broke them loose first by hand.
