    Origins: Creationism, Evolution, and an Orthodox Theology of Creation
    patristicnectar.org/bookstore...
    Patristic Nectar Publications is pleased to present a new five-lecture series by His Grace, Irenei, Bishop of London and Western Europe for the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, entitled ORIGINS: Creationism, Evolution and an Orthodox Theology of Creation. Well-known patristics scholar and respected arch-pastor Bishop Irenei labors in this series to help believers approach the theology of creation from the presuppositions of the Church instead of through the prisms of evolution and creationism. By an intensive examination of the foundational texts of Genesis, together with numerous sources from the Church Fathers, Bishop Irenei enables us to perceive the Church’s own theological priorities and emphases when addressing the subject of creation.
    Lecture titles include:
    Lecture #1 The Lamb Slain Before the Foundation of the World: Moving Beyond Creationism and Evolution
    Lecture #2 The Order of Salvation: The Creation of the Cosmos as the Beginning of the Church in Genesis
    Lecture #3 The Fashioning of Man: The Pinnacle of Creation
    Lecture #4 Creation and Its Consequences: The Sanctity of Life and Ecology
    Lecture #5 Review with Q and A

    God always speaks to us, needed this message big time. Been battling porn since 13 years old, I have cried, prayed, fasted to get rid of this disgusting addiction. Pray for me that I may keep fighting and have victory over this one day. God bless everyone.

      Keep fighting - you will lose battles, "tactical skirmishes" if you will. But this is a LONG war, not a short ambush!
      Get an icon of St. Mary of Egypt, St. John the Much Suffering of the Kiev Caves, and also the Inexhaustible Cup of the Holy Theotokos. I have found these to be invaluable, praying and asking for St. Mary and St. John to pray for me. This has helped MASSIVELY. You will find eventually that it takes longer and longer between stumbles. Stay faithful and keep struggling!

      Next time you feel like you are on the verge remind yourself that the human body is nothing but a container with bodily fluids and bacteria that sweats and bleed. A woman is no different! You need to put the truth on the table and think about the true purpose of procreation that sex is not supposed to be an egocentric act but a way to recreate the image of our lord here on earth! The temptation might be great but once you get passed that the temptation will tranform into wisdom and a defence against the next tempation. It will never stop but you can make it less overwhelming!

Have mercy on Thine servant Alexandra Symeon, accept her or his confessed will to repent, and make her or him a new human, restore from the passions, give her or him to Thine Church whole and recovered. @@alexandrasymeon5893 I am not a priest, I am just a fellow sinner who read you comment and felt compassion. I don't know if you are an Orthodox, or how much interest you have in Orthodoxy; if you are either, please look up in a phone book nearby Orthodox priest and ask him to come; they are obliged to, under such circumstances; if you come upon an unworthy one who refuses to come, call another. If you are Orthodox, you can receive a confession and communion before you die; unction, too, if time allows; if you are not an Orthodox but want to become one, you can receive emergency baptism (any Orthodox Christian can perform it, if priest is not available); be baptized on the deathbed is a rare privilege which opens the doors of heaven like it did to the good thief. I am telling you what I wish my father have done before he died.

    I've been struggling with anxiety regarding tornados, and this season has been bad with severe weather. I'm trying not to be afraid or cowardly but I've to been so deeply anxious over almost every storm. I feel spent. Exhausted. Loved ones are stressed over my fear. Apart from that my job might be letting me go and I'm struggling financially to provide for my family. I just feel spent in every area and this week everyday is supposed to be storming all through out the day and night so I'm struggling. On top of that a few towns near me got blasted very bad by a big tornado 2 nights ago.
    Please pray for me, because I feel like I can't go on like this.

    As the times grow darker, even a small act of kindness is a victory for God! Do a small GOOD, VIRTUOUS thing, as often as you are able… you will be surprised how the binoculars will flip, and your focus will be on glorifying God, and as you forget to think of yourself and your sin, you may discover that it is no longer as powerful as you once thought.

    I wonder about sin being an action. Christ says that we have already sinned if look at a woman with lust in the heart, not even engage with her. Is the looking the sin? Or is it strictly within the heart? And if in the heart, does this ruling apply to any other sins?

    • @LadyMaria
      @LadyMaria 11 месяцев назад

      That amounts to an action as it stirs the physical senses as if it were happening is my understanding. More often than not it leads to self abuse.

  • @hughmungus7933
    @hughmungus7933 11 месяцев назад

    father, regarding the part about investing ones "talents", would talents mean ones innate traits God has given to someone and if that's the case how does one double or compound ones talents if they are physically limited. What can they do? would it be correct to say that one has to push themselves to their maximum potential to multiply the talents they received even if that maximum in comparison to someone else seems like nothing

    • @vasilii6417
      @vasilii6417 10 месяцев назад

      Hugh, I don't think that it is possible for Fr.Josiah to respond to many people, but let me tell you what I think: 1- Yes, we all have our unique God given talents. 2.Physical condition , I am assuming you have poor health, I don't think that applies much.We are fighting a spiritual battle, although sometimes God uses sickness to give us opportunity to grow. 3.God will give us what we need when we need it. Put yourself in His Hands, don't try to force His Hand, but follow Him and Let Him be in control. Read the Bible, study,pray, watch edifying videos, He will increase your talent as He sees fit. He will even throw you a curve ball or knock you down to see if you get up. We fall, we get up. It's through this struggle that we receive. 4.Don't judge yourself. There will always be better and worse than us, it is for God to decide. Keep your eyes fixed on following Him and don't try to measure your own progress......I find that these things hold true in my life. Put God first in all things and you will have peace.
