Note for everyone. Don’t overwork ourselves to create manga chapters in little amount of time. For example even though manga artist do have assistants they still don’t get any sleep and have a reputation of poor health conditions. Don’t overwork over self and try to create a schedule that is still effective while still healthy.
Great reminder! Do you currently have a schedule that works out for you and your routine? 😊
@@aphlearntodrawmanga
Sorry but I don’t. I just wanted to say that to warn people to keep their health in check. Since some people thinking that their health doesn’t matter when creating stories. And that’s further from the case.
I think that if i actually start making manga, one chapter will be realised every month or two which probably isn't great
i'm 21 yo and I feel way far away from people even younger than me :,)
You are still very young. There are people who become a mangaka in their 30s or 40s.
Just keep at it! 👍
bro don't worry about it, as someone WAY younger than you I can assure you that it has nothing to do with age, as long as we believe in ourselves!
I'm 19 and I can assure you that you're pretty young too
I feel your pain
@@aphlearntodrawmanga I'm 27 years old and I've started only this year, the best mindset to get yourself into is to keep working on it, even if it doesn't look right or good to your eyes you can only improve by working at it. Take everything as a learning experience and have fun doing it. Don't be afraid to experiment or completely change the angle of the style you're developing either, don't limit yourself into a box and don't compare yourself to someone else's and feel dejected. Know that they've had the same experiences as you during their journey.
I made all these mistakes and I'm not gonna hide it. Reading my idol's book, Hiroiko Araki's "Manga in theory and Practice", helped me a lot to get out of their influence. I'll keep studying, analysing and reading mangas that did and did not have success. I'll keep trying and join contests that allow foreigners, like Silent Manga Audition and Kyoto Manga Contest, until I'll succeed.
I'm just 21, I can still make it
sorry for the question, are you Italian?
@@yuricapetti5873 Yes
That sounds like an awesome plan! Keep at it! 🙌
You are so much like me! I hope we always have the spirit of trusting the process and believing in ourselves.
Let's go! We are on the same Journey , dont forget to use manga plus creators as your platform to share what have you done.
I cant get over how well this is edited
We’ll make sure to let our video editor know! 😉
Don't dream to go Japan or draw manga manually on a page if you are not dead seriousl about choosing mangaka as your career , if you love drawing , have a story, and also you're busy with stuff like degree or education , I'd recommend starting a webtoon of yours , get is started really slow at your own pace , it just needs a single device which is a tablet or an iPad, hoping for a detailed webtoon video pleaseee
If i start making manga chapters will come out pretty slow but i plan to draw it on papar bcuz idk to draw digitally -_-
Been drawing since 2018 but only just started taking it more serious earlier this year. I always wanted to get better, to maybe write a story. You took the words out of my mouth several times in this video and now it's personal. I will create a short story and release it to the world, thank you for this wake up call.
I recall myself in 6th grade nullifying everything the nay-sayers told me.
Receiving comments like "You can't draw" or "You traced this work" literally kept my fumes running as I was determined to even sacrifice my own schoolwork to prove them wrong. Now, I dont get criticized as often. (I criticize my own work, but sometimes I need nore insight as i tend to make mistakes and overlook them.)
I may start doing this with my stories. I never published, but i have some (finished) scripts in my google docs. As much as I love to exaggerate those stories, I, the creator will admit that they were the worst thing ever. (The worst one of them all was a script i made that sterotyped the most cliche anime plot.)
I am actually only 12 yo but am trying for the past 4 to 6 month:)
The problem with me is that i dont know how to write a good story but i am good at drawing i had practiced art in almost all the major art styles and mediums too but in case to story telling thats the point i lack at
Same. Drawing has been my principal hobby since I am too young, so drawing isnt the problem... The problem is that I dont have idea on how to write and story and I'm not that creative hehe
Well, never too late to learn and get started on how to write good stories! 😉
practice with a couple of pages, next an entire one shot..at least, draw the storyboard if you don't wanna loose too much time. If you have experience drawing you gonna quickly pick the train. I had the same problem and it took me make just one-shot to realize my major faults...it doesn't matter the story, a simple fight, a conversartion, a comedy situation and compare them with professional mangas. The goal is to catch practice in storytelling :)
Just like in art, there's also lots of tutorials in story writing here in youtube, you can start by watching tutorials, don't give up.☺️
There are many writers that aren’t good drawers that want people to draw for them
Thank you very much....I really needed this video 😭😤😤😤
You're welcome 😊
Wow, it‘s impressive how you are always so helpful, understanding and motivating at the same time. Thank you.❤
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the video. What was your biggest takeaway from this? 😊
My biggest takeaway was, that it’s impossible to create the perfect story and that I should stop overthinking. That’s because I am a perfectionist and now I really noticed, how much it stops me from improving.😅
i love this you motivated me
Great video🎉
Thank you 😁
Thank you for this help, thos video help me what i need to do 😊
Happy to help! What was your biggest takeaway? ☺️
@@aphlearntodrawmanga became a mangaka, i am 17 years. but i love this work 👍✨️
Eiichiro oda is my favorite mangaka and I'm not sure if a mangaka is right for me
Dream, huh? That was what I thought when I wanted to be a mangaka for the first time. But now, the reality is a mangaka is just a voluntary slave for the industry.
Thanks for the lecture anyway.
thaks for this advise
Question: Where do you believe the balance is between fundamental art skills and simply making manga?
I’ve been thinking that I should dedicate a few months to improving my illustration abilities- perspective, figure drawing, etc- before trying to create manga because I feel like it influences whether your manga will be taken seriously. I understand your videos are more about just making manga regardless, but to be truly successful… where do you believe the balance lies?
The book Tiny Habits by BJ Fogg covers motivation. Basically saying that its unreliable and you need to design behaviors in such a way that motivation isn't required for you to do the thing. Since following the behavior design in the book I do a lot more art work (and have improved a lot of other habits in my life). If you are struggling to actually sit down and do it, well it could be a good place to start. Although I will say that I had other reasons for never really sitting down and being creative. I looked inside and had some honest conversations about my mental blocks and worked on what I needed to work on, and at the same time set things up at my desk so starting was easy to do.
Me working on a mange for 2 months, I’ve done maybe 30 mins of work every day few days lol. I’m slowly starting to do more, but im not pushing myself so I don’t rush or get overwhelmed. I’m starting to be able to do more each day worked like 2 hours yesterday. But also I’ve been letting the story come to me you know.
Mam can you please upload a video about best croquis method for drawing dynamic poses
Y'all telling me stuff you tube tutorials would not tell me. THANK YOU
Why thank you! We’re happy to hear that. ♥️
What part of the video resounded with you the most? 😊
@@aphlearntodrawmanga honestly every part as it helped me understand more and plus I get to show off to my friends I know better muhahaha
Can you make tutorial about 4 panel manga(四コマ漫画)? I just read Azumanga Daioh manga and i really want to make my manga like that but i don't know too much about the structure
Manga tips and therapy. . .thanks
You’re welcome! What was your biggest takeaway from this video? 😀
@@aphlearntodrawmanga I didn't underestimate how hard making comics would be but I certainly underestimate how complicated it was. This video taught me that.
Thanks
Thanks a lot for the video I gotta create again and again but I don't really have instruments but I'd like you to help me
I want my manga to be the next generation of big 3☺️
Same
9:22 I wanna think that is just an example and it isn't an error,
it's well known that mangakas work MUCH MORE than that...10 to 16 hours per day, the seven days of the week
What kind of error are you referring to?
@@aphlearntodrawmanga the average time of work of a professional mangaka, being honest I wanna think I'm wrong and most mangakas work a normal 9-5 workday, but I doubt it
Wow phew I'd like to make manga but heres so many things to do i don't know what to do because raven has been acting up lately now this is why she's like this i always wanted a chapter out but its so hard
thank you
Welcome! Sounds like you enjoyed this video. What was your favorite part?
So about the tip for people making one big epic story, I’m kinda doing that right now. But my plan is that I’ll work on this one great story over the years while on the side creating short 10 chapter (or so) stories while I develop my skills. Do you think this sounds realistic?
What’s your ultimate goal? To self-publish? To get picked up by a publisher? To continue doing this as a hobby or a career?
@@aphlearntodrawmanga My plan is the same like that. I want to become a self-publisher whose manga becomes popular. My genre in the story which i want to blow up is going to be adventure fantasy and action. I already did the world building and rules for everything. You yourself said in the video to just start drawing even if I lack the skill. I've been drawing my whole life however my anatomy is stiff and so are the designs. So while writing i am going to focus on how to draw better clothes, anatomy, designs, details, backgrounds which will maybe help me even more with imagining how to do things.
3:00 What if you’ve made other stories you haven’t shared to the public before the first one you release and you’ve corrected your past mistakes in those other ones
Would it still flop?
We can't guarantee anything in life. Tbh, no one really can.
The good thing is that you've had practice.
But will it be a hit?
We can't really say.
And you won't now until you've put it out in the world.
CONCLUSION: Just put your story out into the world and see how people would react to it.
@@aphlearntodrawmanga it’s out on mangaplus creators now and I think I’m getting a fair amount of readers for just 11 chapters so far.. I need more readers tho, and thank you guys so much for the advice❤️❤️
im in my 30s i use to draw alot in my teens and i always believe i wasnt good enough. Imma try to write a manga and just get it out there.
Yaas! That sounds awesome. It’s never too late to start on something that you love.
I'll be honest, one shot is better start for making a story ❤
I have a question for you.
I really want to create a manga or a comic and I have a cast+ story, bit my style is not the one of a manga.
Does a manga need to be in the typical manga/anime style? Does it have to be black and white? Does it need to be in japanese or related to the culture?
I am in no means trying to aproprete the culture, that's why I ask.
If you answer, Thank you!
You can create your story in whatever form you’d like!
Comics, WEBTOONs, graphic novels, manga, there’s a lot to choose from.
There is a certain visual style to manga that makes it different from Western comics though.
If your art style is not similar to manga, people would probably just call it a comic.
@@aphlearntodrawmanga That does help, thank you
When i was gr6 i made all of these mistakes that i lost motivation. And now im grade 7, do you think i can upload my one shot?
If i have a really long story in my mind, but want to start with a one-shot, how should i start? ideas are not coming :(
Great question! We have a topic on how to come up with ideas for your manga in our latest video.

grr the silent manga awards site wont let me enter my oneshot@@aphlearntodrawmanga
FOOL ME! IM SHOOTING 300 ONE SHOTS EACH MILLISECOND SO I CAN BUILD EXPERIENCE TO HELP MYSELF TO FIX AND GET BETTER AT IT!
(if I'm making one shots, in treating them as sidequests for the one big story I'm planning, I might forget it later on, but now there's no way I'm publishing the first chapter of the main one i wanna do, instead I'm publishing several other one shots that have one small fundamental of the big one, so I can focus on one thing at a time and just group everything togheter, i call that the "plan of mangahood"
I have a big story too. But also I wanted to make funny and wholesome one shot story collection for webtoon. So I am gonna make that now and get better. I won't publish it now because I am younger but I am gonna get better and publish a better version of the collection and my big story
we have near same mindset, and i am in no way publishing my main story's one sot version now, along that im just reaching the top of my puberty stage so i dont know if i can post it now because of age shenanigans and things of the same topic.@@kitsune2562
