Matted fur is definitely not something you want your dog to have. This is really painful it's like their hair is being pulled every time they move. Shaving it is definitely for the best. But some people let their dogs get shaven just because they like the look and that is where I would be say no.
All; of you sayi ng shaving huskies is bad, it is BUT this was for medical reasons. She was way happier without the coat as it had been neglected and left to get matted.
You did a great job on the dog he looks great and looks like a lot more comfortable dog without all that matted fur. The dog was very trusting of you with all the things that you did do it I just don't like how that you were holding the dog's muzzle and scrubbing his face digging into his face with your fingers like you were not using a wire brush to comb the fur in the dog's very sensitive ears, n even doctors say not to use a qtip in our own ears, so I don't think they should be used in a dog's sensitive ears either. Iknow there's a lot to go and get clean on a dog like that. But with all of this done, I don't believe u own a dog at all, because someone who had a dog would have been talking to them and socializing with them while they were being groomed, you didn't say a word. I bet the dog we're relieved when this long process is finally over. He seems like a very gentle dog despite the situation he came from.
Skin was fine, dog owner didn’t ever brush it or even clean up eye discharge.soap and water and time. The dog now needs time to recover it’s protection against insects, sun etc

A husky fur helps it say warm when it's cold and stay cool when it's warm out, it also protects their skin from the sun and other elements.

Cher'Ray a dog groomer. Will agreed & just that there are cases which need to " shave off " the coat due to negligence of owner Otherwise other problems wiil develop esp SKIN PROPLEMS which difficult to deal with
The only reason in my book to shave a double coated dog is due to severe matting that would cause the dog extreme discomfort to try to remove. Even then the dog will need to be kept inside and only allowed outside with appropriate protection. The owners of this dog who allowed it to become this matted should be shamed! It doesn’t take but 10 minutes of your time every couple of days to brush the poor dog out. Hell I have 4 horses, 3 cats, and a Sheppard/Mal cross that all get regular grooming. Letting a animal get matted is pure laziness. I guess their lucky I’m not their groomer as they would be getting a earful and a stern warning about what constitutes animal cruelty. I would rather loose business than allow the neglect to continue.
At first I was like WHY and really hurt to see him being shaved down, so had to look at comments about the reason this is happening. Poor pup hope he is better.

Shame poor dog. Even though I'm not for Double coated dogs being shaved. This seemed necessary because Matts in the coat is awful and painful for the dog. This is why when you have a long haired dog it needs to be combed every day or at least twice a week.

You didn’t show the finished product
That 's the end !
You shouldn't really cut your huskys fur, even if it was neglected I suggest you find other ways to help it instead of going straight into cutting it's fur. :/ I have a feeling that by now it's fur coat has grown back but don't do it again. A husky fur helps it say warm when it's cold and stay cool when it's warm out, it also protects their skin from the sun and other elements.
They.Had.To.Do.It.
Shaving it was the only way to get rid of the matting.
He looks like Tom from Tom and jerry
Bless him ♥️
I dont personally like the idea of shaving a husky but I'm living with one whose original owner left behind. His hair is so matted and knots and poor thing has the worst dandruff and hot spots. I'm doing my best right now to brush all the dead fur off but I'm worried I might have to do this to him eventually. And the tail omg his tail is so thick with dirt I have to carefully brush him without hurting his skin. It's very sad . . Can anyone recommend a shampoo & conditioner that will help with husky hair that has been neglected.
You read the description right?
Hola buenas noches por fa necesito q me ayudes con mi Husky siberiano me lo afeitaron y hay partes q no le salió el pelaje
Read description before you judge its how you get out matting.
Need to ask if it's necessary to trim the hair on my Husky's paws? Thanks
Thks for your asking & we should trim all breeds since excessive hairs can cause hygine issues especially if it's damp
I know, that this poor Husky was neglected and it is for his good, but still when you know, you are not supposed to shave husky, it is difficult to watch it.
Difficult for a bitch, it’s not like they’re disemboweling the animal
Did he grow them back?
Thks for asking & don't know as the owner did not return for another grooming but hope it will grow back with proper care

Perfect shave for Florida
NEXT: How to shave your polar bear
Very good QUESTION !
Sometimes taking out fur cures a lot of skin infection by itself.
Amazing video ! Husky looks amazing
Husky rule #1. Don’t shave your husky.
Does anyone know what kind of clippers these are?
It's a japanese brand call SPEEDIX TAPIO 5 perhaps you could check it out in RUclips
Is this where the memes come from ?
He did a great job on that dog
Thks guess you understand the need for such grooming
He’s faded now
did his hair grew back the same/normal?
We don't know as the owner did not return but we believe it will grow back with " tiicker" coat
Why was he being so rough to him tho like what the heck
Wolfie Biscuits Ever see how sheep’s get their wool off? It isn’t being rough because their fur is so thick that it may look like the groomer is stretching the dog but he isn’t
Thats honestly just how you have to be to clean huskeys i have two of my own so i understand
Stfu
Poor boy 😢 I hope he gets a better owner!
Is there updates of his fur? I want to have my husky shaved because he’s badly matted and has a flea infestation but I don’t want his fur to be destroyed. Ps: he was badly taken care of with his previous family and was very mistreated, but he’s slowly getting better.
Update on this please? If you went to have shaved your husky. I want mine to be shaved too. 🥺
@@rachelmaerosal3446 my dog was shaved his fur slowly grew back, something I did notice is that since it grew back he is not as fluffy but besides that everything is okay My husky is a malamute mix so he has long hair. Everything had to be shaved except his head and tail. This will be the last time tho since it was needed due to matting and fleas.
I hope his coat can grow back at least to cover him, poor sweet baby :(.
I know why he needed this though the matted fur, was a no choice situation :(
May I ask why you shaved a husky?
I'm a groomer and I prefer not to shave a husky, but I have under certain conditions only. But please explain to those watching because this is a breed that could die from shaving..
Cher'Ray a dog groomer. Will agreed & just that there are cases which need to " shave off " the coat due to negligence of owner
Otherwise other problems wiil develop esp SKIN PROPLEMS which difficult to deal with
The only reason in my book to shave a double coated dog is due to severe matting that would cause the dog extreme discomfort to try to remove.
This dog was extremely matted.
He was extremely matted and neglected. I felt the same way, however sometimes it absolutely needs to be done
Reed the description
that looks like a poodle mix husky but he loves it
At first I was like WHY and really hurt to see him being shaved down, so had to look at comments about the reason this is happening. Poor pup hope he is better.
Poor thing they should commit to dog and take care of it as a child if ur getting one mainly double coat it’s coat is a complete mess I brush my husky everyday his coat is so beautiful only thing I ask groomers is for is like a small cutting near paws and tail to like make them look good
My boy had his neck shaved at the vet and the itch is driving him crazy.its so unomfortable growing back poor dog is going to be tormented with itching
Better then being matted
My Brittany has had 2 shave downs, and has never had a problem with it. Not every dog is the same.
he's so well behaved for a neglected dog :)
Guess he knows what is the best for himself & just go with the "FLOW"
All dogs should not be neglected :( they can well behaved if they'r trained well
awwwee hes so cute
Pretty sure after some time the pup got a good coat of fluff
What a good boy :(
Dont say "it" please but me too >:3
Shame poor dog. Even though I'm not for Double coated dogs being shaved. This seemed necessary because Matts in the coat is awful and painful for the dog. This is why when you have a long haired dog it needs to be combed every day or at least twice a week.
Bro dont even think about cutting your Huskies coat unless there are some pests in his fur or skin disease because husky inner coat sheds naturally in the summer and if you cut his outer coat your dog can have sunburn on its sensitive skin so please ! Stop
Edit : didn't read the desdescription sorry 😅
It's ok !
Groomed husky looks weird though isn't it
Never shave a husky or malamute unless is for medical conditions. Their fur is like an isolation coat against cold but also heat.
I always feel so sad when i see a husky that is shaved. because you know that dog wasnt being taken care of properly. shaving is a last last resort. poor doggo. hopefully it was ok later.
edit: if you have to shave it should you put it n a coat or something? because its gonna be freezing now no?
No idea as the owner did not return for a second grooming hope everything goes well
