You can't beat Tadd Dameron...the most unappreciated guy ever. The changes and the melodies are ALWAYS great. This was a very enjoyable performance as well.
"Happy Feelin' Jazz" at it's best ! If you havent checked out the duet album of Flanagan with Hank Jones also called " Our Delight", every song in it is a total gem !
How wonderful of you to feature Billy Taylor, composer of "I Wish I Knew How It Would Feel To Be Free". Today, July 24th 2016 is the 95th anniversary of his birth. Please check out my youtube channel "Remember our Music" an historical site which daily honors a great African-American musician like Billy Taylor, Bill Lee, John Wesley Work, Josephine Premice and Noble Sissle, all born in the month of July!
@hremdldw The only thing I have, which is the only thing that Billy had, is the time Lawrence Welk (!) appeared as a guest on the show, and "conducted" one of Billy's tunes. Mr. Welk basically stood there and waved his arms while the band played, brilliantly. I have to go back into the archives and post it.

@hremdldw And two of the most gentle spirits I have ever known.
JazzViedoGuy: Do you have any film of Dr Taylor fronting the musicians that were in band that played for David Frost?
