    This is a great tool. I just wish there was a way to make multiple designs with one tool. However, for production work this would be invaluable. Also a great way to use up that scrap wire we all have.

      We'd love to see more versatile jigs too, they'd be helpful for folks who only need to make earrings occasionally, but you're right this really is a tool for a production jewelry work. We like to features these now and then because a lot of people don't even know they're available and you can never tell who needs a different way to do things.

    This looks like it doesn't waste a lot of wire, which is a plus.

    Do you 'finish' the end of the wire in any way so when you put it through your ear there are no sharp bits from cutting with the flush cutters?

      I would think you could sand the edges with a nail file. I used that to shave off the point on post earrings that were used for ear piercing. It worked fine to shave off the point of the post.

      A nail file will work well. Another dedicated option that we like is a wire rounder tool like this one: beadaholique.com/products/wire-rounder-tool-with-wooden-handle-1-8mm-cup-bur

      It's pretty neat isn't it! We did a video on this many years ago when we were first starting out and it did well for us back then but we thought it was time to give our larger audience a new look at it. Here's our product page for the tool if you'd like to pick one up: beadaholique.com/products/easy-ear-wire-findings-tool-for-making-earring-hooks-1

    if you cut a longer piece of wire will that make a bigger hoop?

    • @beadaholique
      @beadaholique  3 года назад

      This jig isn't too flexible, if you use a slightly longer piece of wire you'll end up with an oblong loop at the end, a bit larger, but not the same shape. There's no way to adjust the size of the main curve unforuntely. For customized ear wires doing them by hand is still best. We have a video on that here: ruclips.net/video/BPX8IBb7X-o/видео.html
