Here's my Top 10 Saddest Autobot Deaths in the Transformers movies. If there's 1 thing I think we all can agree upon is that a sad movie death can have a lingering impact if done right. And this is something that was made apparent over 30 years ago in the 86 Transformers movie. As soon as you find yourself connecting with a character they become cannon fodder to move the plot forward. And in the case of the live action Transformers universe we found ourselves reconnecting to old faces just to see history repeat itself. What's up guys? My name is RBG. And welcome another Transformers Top 10 video. This is something where we take the best and worst elements of the live action films and comprise them in top 10 rankings. For today's video I wanted to present a list of the saddest Autobots deaths. Because there have been a few that have undoubtedly tugged on fan's heart strings. It seems like that was something Michael Bay got right with each installment. As much as we may hate the way our favorite Autobot is portrayed or their design changes we eventually grow fund of them. And even miss them when they're replaced with newer members for the sake of selling toys. But without further ado here's a list of the top 10 Autobot deaths that kicked us in the gut and left us stunned.

My top 4 saddest autobots deaths list
#1: Ratchet: he is my second favorite autobot, and I found him just too much secondary for what he deserves (I mean, we see him but we don’t see him enough like the others and he doesn’t have much lines), he really deserves to be part of the mains autobots like Prime, Bee, Ironhide, Hound, Drift and Crosshead. Also, he is the only doctor of the autobots, he really needs to be still alive.
#2: Ironhide: He is so damn badass, he is maybe the only weapon specialist, but he died too soon in the movie, he really have to be still alive.
#3: Cliffjumper: We just saw him one time in the franchise. The directors didn't give him his chance to be badass af and unforgettable.
#4: Jazz: Why they chosen to kill him for the first movie, in G1, like Cliffjumper and Ratchet, they are so damn important and mains.
And for conclusion:

Ratchet: Never !

I consider Que and Wheeljack two different characters. They have barely anything alike other than their love for inventing things. I like to think they were friends in Cybertron, maybe even mentor and student.

I saw the movie in theaters when I was 13 and I was horrified, I was even more shocked when I saw him shooting at bumblebee , I thought bee was gonna die too but thank God he didn't
I was 11 and I nearly passed out. Death's like his weren't that shocking, Jazz, I felt I was too young to understand and it was not much time for me to connect, neither the Arcee tripplets. Optimus scarred me a little, but the ending was relieving and Jet Fire's death seemed only fitting but you saw it coming with the Scorponok attack. I had already built a connection across 3 films with this guy. Same with Ratchet, and seeing glimpses of this in the trailer didn't help my pain over it.

Think the only reason why Optimus didn't react right away was probably do to not realizing who Megatron had or in the middle of a fight, he couldn't show weakness or rage at the instance

@Alexander Major it isn't the "best", what is popular and lasted today are the designs of the charachters and some aspects of them and other transformers shows and midia take inspiration on it, the g1 show by itself is bad

In terms of the Michael Bay movie, Ironhide's death hit me the hardest. I saw Jazz's demise coming but Sentinel came out of NOWHERE to shoot Ironhide from the back. I still haven't gotten over that.
I felt the same and literally cried over Ratchet's death. He was a medic more than soldier and was so surprised being attacked. Seeing him trying to run with only one leg and shouting "hold your fire I'm injured" made me feel a punch through my stomach

Jazz hurt because he was my favorite and my first transformers toy.
He was definitely 1 of my favorites. Such a likable character that got taken out too soon.

I agree mostly. But i must say that Ironhide's death struck me hard. I didn't expect such a scene which adds the dramatism.
The Forest fight was a homage to how strong a Prime can be
using the Matrix of Leadership. Optimus was outnumbered and
beaten, but he taps into the Matrix of Leadership for the strength
to protect Sam.
He doesn't have the matrix when he dies in the forest fight, he gets it after Sam goes to Egypt to obtain it to revive Optimus.
He didn't have the matrix of leadership until Sam brought him back with it
Que’s has the saddest death he litteraly begged for mercy
And the deceptions just laughed at him when he died, so sad
Niall Patterson not to mention the Decepticons were ruthlessly exterminating as many humans as possible. Everything about the Chicago Battle was brutal.
It does sadden me even though it isn't real, it sure felt it though

I loved the movie jazz's design more than any transformer from the movies, his death was absolutely depressing because he was infinitely cooler than bee, also his toy was my favorite back then until (ironic enough) my step brother ripped him in two just like megatron while I was outside. When I found out I was devastated then proceeded to hit him with said broken toy to avenge him. Never replaced it as since my dad got it for me it was extra special so I just kept playing with the broken toy for years

I can’t thank you enough for giving Iron Hide #2 on this list, he is my #1 favorite character in the franchise, and I was super mad when they decided to kill him off

To this day I'm surprised why many fans hate ratchet's death. Saying Michael Bay didn't care about him. He literally gave him such an emotional death we literally wanted Optimus to hunt humans. Humans! That man literally pulled out heart strings and made us emotional. He didnt disrespect him. He gave him a decent send off that tested Optimus' morals.

Ironhide and Ratchets deaths hit me the hardest. I remember crying so much in theaters after seeing Ironhide die, same for ratchet, Those were my 2 out of my 4 favorites in the bayverse.
They didn't deserve what happened to them, but due to the toys I guess they were just tired of making them, and had ideas for new toys, that's probably one of the reasons they were killed off.
I cried so hard when ratchet died he was always my favorite.
I remember I saw Iron Hide's death. I asked my Grandma "Is he going to be OK?" She literally didn't what was going on and she said "I don't know" I was so sad

Cliffjumper should have his cloaking abilites, and Jazz should have had a strong sword, with a much powerful ranged weapon (Sniper?), like his shield fire is just too weak.
Jazz was Optimus Prime's best friends actually. WHen he was on Cybertron Jazz was an investigator. He went around from Kaon to Iacon and observed the culture. Anyway before OPtimus met Megatron, he told Jazz for fear that Alpha Trion would discover theses meetings. they'd meet at bars and talk about wanting to visit Kaon the city where Megatron fought as a gladiator in the pits. Thats why OPtimus was so heartbroken. He lost his best friend in the universe.
I didn't felt sad when Jetfire died
He died doing something noble despite having decepticon emblem
And died like a true warrior and Autobot
Feeling sad from his sacrifice feels like I'm tainting his honor

Ironhides death had me crying my eyes out. He is my favorite autobot. And imagine being made of metal and slowly rusting to death while also being confused because the "autobot" he was supposed to protect had betrayed him
The only thing that made me even remotely sad was Ironhide. He was so cool.
Also Sentinel's death was a bit sad.

These are definitely some sad deaths. Ironhide might be #1 for me. It bothers me to no end that we never saw Optimus mourn him. Then I think Ratchet is second and Jazz is third.

The Cwoah, the Albert Einstein Autobot, death scene hurt quite a bit. Both His voice as he feared for his life and BumbleBee's expression was heart wrenching. The following sequence where the gun is now pointed at Bumblebee was also heart wrenching. My friend said the existential problem with Bee dying is that he isn't tactically important enough to resurrect like Prime and Sentinel.

Also is tearjerking is the fact that in the Transformers 2007 movie, when Ironhide put the remains of Jazz into a military truck the soldiers there bowed their heads in respect and mourning for him like they would a fallen human comrade.

I really liked Ironhide. It was also painful because I watched the G1 episode where the introduced cosmic rust, and I know firsthand how deadly it was. Add the emotional impact of a favorite characters death with the full knowledge of the HORROR Ironhide had to go through.
Jazz doesn't get enough credit, when you think about it, he was the only Autobot to die apart from Optimus while putting himself in front of the humans, he knew that the humans around him wouldn't get away in time so he stayed to protect them, blatantly putting his life on the line for them.
I am Optimus Prime and l send this message to Michale Bay " Leave Autobots alone".... because... l am coming....... for you!!

I can imagine primes reaction to Ironhides death... probably the same reaction when he found out Ratchet died
Ironhide's death must've hit home the most.
*Ironhide had been with optimus for a long while, though not as much as jazz.
*He was arguably the most loyal to optimus out of the group.
*Ironhide had helped Optimus on the battlefield likely more often than jazz overall, and definitely more often on Earth.
*Ironhide's killer was optimus prime's own teacher.
All this combined makes for a very distraught, and like bayprime usually is, vengeful, optimus.
His last and final battle R.I.P ironhide
May he rest in peace.

Darius McCrary was recording Jazz's death scene he finished off with "It's always the brotha that gets it!" Laughed my ass off because it's so true lol. But yeah, I feel you on that one because Jazz has always been one of my absolute favorite Transformers since G1 back in the day. I was thrilled to see how well they portrayed him in the 2007 film. They gave him Wind Charger's magnetic power, which was cool, but I'd love to also see him use his sonic light show ability in a later film. For some reason I thought they'd save him somehow, but then he was really dead and I just thought, what waste of potential. He had a coolest fighting style, car mode, and personality. He'd be one of the Autobots who bridges the gape between Humans and Cybertronians. I've rewatched his scenes over and over and played as him in Revenge of the Fallen game.
I'm honestly hoping they'll come out with a game that has all these characters and exhibits Jazz's acrobatic fighting style the way it should be. Revenge of the Fallen on X-box 360 did a decent job but the controls were kinda clunky and it didn't capture his kicks and evasions. Seriously the coolest Autobot. R.I.P. Scatman Crothers.

Ironhide was the saddest for me. I really wish they would have kept at least him. I feel like after his death, thats really when people began to be even more fed up with the movies.
Honestly, I wish they would do a N.E.S.T. movie focusing a lot on him and the team of battles that happened behind the scenes.

The sadness in wheeljacks death when he knew he was gonna die really made me hurt
I’m more of a fan of show don’t tell with storytelling. You don’t feel an emotional connection to any of the autobots because they all get like 5 minutes of screen time each movie. The series is called Transformers for Pete’s sake!
That's my issue with Bumblebee and how it handled Cliffjumper's death as well as it's overall story.
Ironhide's death worked very well and was effective because of how he built a relationship with the humans especially the military oops overtime how his death was a huge morality decline for the others.

The MGS4 father and son theme made me emotional, made me remember how disappointed and sad i was as a kid, not to mention, metal geat music in general

when I was halfway through the vid, I hoped that you would include jazz. & look at that, jazz was 1st place. I really was sad when I 1st watched that movie. all this time I thought it was jazz's minicon who died. but hearing you say it was jazz broke my heart. btw #GoneButNotForgotten

The forest battle death of Optimus was insane and blew me away with that death scene, but since he was just revived the feeling is gone
I still think ratchet has the saddest death, since he pleads and begs but to no avail

Frankly I feel sorry for the decepticons because the’ve good reasons for what they had been doing
Take megatron for example he only caused a war on cybertron as a fight for equality while everyone else believed that he had a more sinister reason for it.

The forest battle is my favorite battle
Mine was the battle at sam's hometown. It was chaotic, yet tame enough, and every decepticon in the field posed a vast enough threat to take out the not-plot-armor-bots with ease. after jazz died, you had the ominous feeling that at any point, all of the autobots could be torn down by brawl's heavy weapons, or starscream's quick missiles, or blackout's sonic blasts. Every autobot had to fight against powerful enemies, and megatron was definitely imposing
Compare this to AoE, where the only characters fighting lockdown are the ones that probably wouldn't beat him, yet have too much plot armor that prevent them from being able to lose. Not very interesting, even if Lockdown is an imposing threat.
