There you have it! My top dining tables (last week’s video) plus favorite dining chairs! Let me know what furniture pieces you need help sourcing next!
I just found you and wanted to let you know I appreciate that your videos give such useful information, not just fluff and word salad. I'm starting with an empty house and I want to make sure I do it right, so I will be asking all the questions. *Area Rug Rule for screened in Patios? *Does the color scheme in the patio have to be the same as in the house or can it be brighter? *Where is the best place to hang family photos? *How much art should be on the wall? *A video for tips with babies, and pets. *How to decorate a caped guest room? * How to make a room light and airy without making it too boring, where to mix in color?
I love a rotating dining chair (without wheels). It can be big and heavy but you won't feel it because all you have to do is rotate it to get in or out.
Your review made me realize I really like the chairs we have. They are comfortable, on casters, and fit our table perfectly. They were given to use by a neighbor as a temporary solution when we first moved in. The faux leather is ripped and torn. But you reminded me of the reapolstery option. Thanks.
"Learn the rules so you can break them" 😁👍 loved it - I will steal that with your permission, Julie!! 😊thanks for the amazing content, as always. Hugs from Prague 🥰🖤
@Sue Sue Hi, Sue! I believe so. I think the historic backgroud of the country and the overall aesthetic is different. For example, people my age lived the last years of comunism, so they are used to a different aesthetic form their parents homes and grandparents and so on. This is also a reason I don't normally go antique shopping, as many times, what I find is not my taste. However, comercially more and more brands are offering globally, so the products are starting to be very similar. This, with Globalization and Social media, it's making it a lot more homogenous. I think. I agree with you that the design and enviroment we are surounded by plays a role in how we feel - so keep on doing what you are doing! P.S. Best example of beautiful places to heal our body in Czech Republic is Karlovy Vary, many times doctors send people to these "spa cities" to heal..
I have a small apartment and want to make a statement with my dining chairs because I don't have room for living room chairs and the room is a combined living/dining room. I thought of Versaille chairs or Arne Jacobsen's Egg chairs for drama, moving them around when guests visit. The high backs on those chairs encourage intimate conversation. The problem is the price. They're a bit expensive but I am looking around. The black barrel with wire form CB2 are my favourites here. Thanks Julie!
This was terrific. I really appreciate the amount of time and thought that you put into every one of your presentations and that you consider every budget. You have helped me break through so many style choices for my house. Keep up the brilliant work that you do!
Note: These are the comments of Libby, Mark's wife (but I did double check with him on the pronunciation.) Julie, I really enjoy your channel and try to watch your postings every week. I especially appreciate the many pictures of examples illustrating the points you are making. In the spirit of being helpful, I want to let you know that you are mispronouncing the last name of Marcel Breuer in your show about dining chairs. It is pronounced like Broy-ur with emphasis on the 1st syllable (not Brewer). I have been married to an architect for 55 years, so have heard about Marcel Breuer most of my life. In fact, among our 1st "adult" furniture pieces we bought 6 Cesca armchairs, 2 Wassily chairs, and 1 Laccio coffee table, all Breuer designed pieces. We still have them along with many assorted pieces collected during our marriage, including inherited antiques. It is Bauhaus meets eclectic at our house! Please keep up the good work! All of your followers appreciate and learn from your channel.
Great ideas Julie! Does it not matter these days if the wood doesn’t match? I love the Paige Dining Chair in Bordeaux, but the round version. I also love the Round Walnut and Cream Farmhouse Table I see, also from World Market. Do you think those 2 different woods will work? It’s so hard to buy online.
The number one combo choice was my favorite. As each category was gone through, I picked my top choices, and both the chair and table were my favorites. I also really liked the black exclusive designer chair. The open weave on the bottom was so unique!
Love your videos Julie. You're amazing. I would love a video on bedding exclusively and where you can buy quality affordable pillows, duvets & comforters (and even what the difference is between the two) Thanks!
What do you think about the Ella Dining Chairs from Restoration Hardware? We are thinking of Italian Veneto Leather with the high back and arms and side chairs both in Ivory to contrast with our Walnut wood dining table? Love your videos!!! 😍
I saw wishbone chairs at Home goods for $139.99 each!! There were 8 of them. I didn't need them but maybe one of your viewers might find them at their local store!?
Hi Julie! Thank you for your wonderful content. I never miss a video! This series got me thinking about replacing my traditional mahogany table but keeping the chippendale claw and ball chairs. What table would you recommend? This set was quite expensive but it’s too matchy for me. Should I paint these beautiful wood chairs? Your opinion is appreciated. Thank you and keep up the great work!
I am looking actually for dining chairs, and this video is for me today 😀. I love some of them, except, I won't find them in here, unless I spend a lot in shipping..☹️ Thank you for your tips....🙏🙏🙏🙏
I love your video. I wnat to change my dining table and chairs. I have an oval brown French provincial style. I would like to ask you if this kind of dining set still has an opportunity if you want to refresh you decor.
I just discovered your channel and you are truly amazing! Perfect timing since we are about ready to get a new DR table and chairs. We are going Scandinavian this go around which I’m excited about! Thanks for all your hard work and effort ❤
You gotta check out the About a Chair from Hay. I sat in that black plastic chair like “give me a break🙄” .. ten seconds later I was like “how much are these?”😱. they are SO comfortable even for a long sit. They are just perfectly formed for the booty and back support. They are easy to clean and pretty indestructible and you can hang wet laundry on them too! 😂😂❤
This was perfect as a vanity desk for me. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxMAlHv7-BBWMrPRm5-uEoD6rtdT7SG2Qr Especially the glossy finish. Easy to cleanI was looking for something that wasn't the traditional white and with more of a modern feel. This fit the bill beautifully. I put it together with no problems, by myself in under an hour.Make sure you double check where you place the drawer tracks before screwing down. I had one track that needed to be aligned with different holes than the rest.
I have very old wooden colonial dining chairs, and all four are different, one not even the same height, but I never have four around the table. Usually just the one. IfI am to by new I would buy with cork upholstery and arm rests .
Hey Julie. I'm so happy to be moving and will actually have a dining area. My question though is about couches. I have older teens but my uncle who is mentally disabled (so it needs to be kid proof) will be moving in with us, which is why we're moving. Well I'll have 2 separate living areas also. I have THE leather article sofa (Sven, I think) which I love but not as comfortable as if like. I have chronic back pain. I'm thinking I should go West Elm or Pottery Barn. If you have a preference or a better idea I'll take it. My question is my dream couch is white or off white. Do I go performance fabric or washable? I know washing them often would be really hard for me but maybe better, I'm not sure. I also don't want to spend more than I need BUT I do want to spend as much as I need to have durability and comfort. Thank you so much!
You can choose a performance fabric with washable covers- win win! I have a sectionals video if you missed it. I happen to love West Elm for the price point and clean, modern lines. The typical complaint is that the cushions sag over time, but nothing new foam inserts can’t correct
Ok, chose my chairs from here Ty! Can’t find barstools for my crazy high 46” counter. Bought new house, it has that raised counter to hide dishes at sink.. DO NOT BUILD THIS IN NEW HOUSES, PLEASE! ITS THE BIGGEST PIA!🥶 Even went to restaurant supply places but they are all wood. Yuck. Found some on Etsy but industrial or $500/ each. I’m looking for “Pleather”or easy to wipe fabric. Seat height needs to be: 33-37inches high HELP! Any links my decor friends?
none of these chairs are suitable for medium/large framed men or women. I watched until the end hoping you would cover this, but you didnt. Even if someone with a large frame managed to sit on the chair whilst new, it will not be long when the legs start coming loose or breaking. I am going to go with vintage designs as they are made with real solid wood and take in larger frames. Manufactured to last, and great for upcycling.

That’s brilliant! A great solution if you have an open concept layout so you can enjoy adjacent spaces without having to move around 👍

Yes. Make videos like this on every piece of furniture please! I’m window shopping through your RUclips videos 😍🫶🏼
This was terrific. I really appreciate the amount of time and thought that you put into every one of your presentations and that you consider every budget. You have helped me break through so many style choices for my house. Keep up the brilliant work that you do!
Julie, you're the best!
Your ability to instruct and inspire is beyond other interior designers on RUclips.
Respect!
Thank you so much 😊🙏💖

I love all of them, but my favourite is your number 2 list.
I have some great dining chairs, but want to reupholster the seats. What are the best places to source fabric? Love love love this channel!
The number one combo choice was my favorite. As each category was gone through, I picked my top choices, and both the chair and table were my favorites. I also really liked the black exclusive designer chair. The open weave on the bottom was so unique!
This illustrates the difficulty of sourcing classic dining/kitchen chairs made of real wood.
This has been so helpflul. Thank you Julie! I really like the woven leather chairs, and will give t some thought.
Love your videos Julie. You're amazing. I would love a video on bedding exclusively and where you can buy quality affordable pillows, duvets & comforters (and even what the difference is between the two) Thanks!
I have a ton of videos that share my favorite bedding- search my name + bedrooms 👍

Thank you so much, this information is so helpful as we are ready for a dinning room re-model
Can you also please help with the bedroom
Let me know what questions you have Magdeline! ☺️

The Cahyo dining chair was my favorite. My vibe for sure!! But I feel you have several winners on the list.

Hello. Do you have any dining chair suggestions for a glass rectangular dining table?
I have very old wooden colonial dining chairs, and all four are different, one not even the same height, but I never have four around the table. Usually just the one. IfI am to by new I would buy with cork upholstery and arm rests .

@@JulieKhuu thanks so much! I didn't know you could get both washable and performer fabric. I'll check them out.
So pretty with the new hairdo :)
We are having the hardest time finding the right bar stools for my husbands man cave. Can you do a episode on that?
Tfs. This was helpful
Hello! I saw a chair that I love (#12) but there was no information on where it was from or the style name. Can you share please?
They should all be linked in the description box under that time stamp. Let me know if you’re still having issues
Ok, chose my chairs from here Ty! Can’t find barstools for my crazy high 46” counter. Bought new house, it has that raised counter to hide dishes at sink.. DO NOT BUILD THIS IN NEW HOUSES, PLEASE! does this also apply to outside patio chairs
Tremendous help
Please where can I buy the chairs at 1:40?
Can you add casters to a dining room chair?
Absolutely, I’ve done many times. Amazon has so many varieties 🛞
Any other Romanians here laughing at the Pula dining chair name?
😂 yes I am!
Thank you, google translate. 😂
What chair was #3 on the upholstered chairs?
If your dining area has high ceilings, how high should the back of the dining chairs be?
That’s a personal preference. If you want to sit back comfortably, source one that clears your head.
😍

Nonsense!
