Great video! Thanks for the tip on moving the hinge inwards. My 74 GT door is original with car but always stuck out on top. I removed the hinge, removed a small amount of metal and reinstalled the hinge. The door fit flush the first try. Thanks from Michigan, USA. Keeping a 73 roadster and 74 GT alive!!

So pleased I could be of some use. I've never done that trick before this video as I've never needed to. I can say it's worked on two cars now. Great news, thanks for you comments 😬😬

Trying to align and match panels on these is a nightmare because they were built so shabbily.

Someone named "me" did say fit the door before you fit the wing! But you must do what you think is right! I learnt through trial and error . I can save you the trial and error!

I'm sorry it's not trial and error. Car has been stripped down to a shell and a huge amount of panels welded in previous to me taking the job on. I've no idea if any of it lines up correctly! Even down to the hinges being romoved. None of it is as it left the factory. If I fitted the door before the wing I can assure that I would never get the wing to fit the door. As I said previously I work the wing, door and rear quarter together and in the final video I complete the job. Everything lines up nothing sticks out and the gaps are perfect. We clearly both have different ways of doing things. I know my way works. www.tonyguestautomotive.com/portfolio click on the link and you can see what my way looks like in the paint.

Everyone has their own way of doing things. This car has had a LOT of work done to it and the front wings are the original ones so we know they fit correctly. The doors are not original so it's far easier to do the doors after the wings in this instance at least.
