In this tutorial let us learn How To Create Checklist in Excel
Checklist is the checkbox in excel which can help us as a tracker in maintaining the log of activities and more widely can be used in the dashboards effectively.
Now, let us see how to create one checklist.
First, we need to add the developers tab to the ribbon,
Right click anywhere on the menu ribbon and select customize ribbon
Here, add the Developer tab, by selecting the checkbox option and click ok.
Then, you can view the Developer tab in the menu bar like this.
Below are some of the activities that I would like to track.
Go to Developer tab, Click on Insert and then select Checkbox from the Form controls and draw in cell C5.
You can rename the checkbox text as per your wish.
Now drag the checkbox against all the activities rows.
You can see checkboxes for all activities now.
Right click on the first checkbox and select Format control and under control tab, give the cell reference as D5 for cell link.
Now your checkbox is linked to cell D5. If the checkbox is selected, it will show as True or else False.
Now repeat the same process of giving reference to respective cells in column D.
Once you are done with the cell links, you can use the column D to get a summary of how many activities have been completed
Like in Cell C15, I type the formula as =COUNTIFS(D5:D14,"True") and we get the result as 7.
Got it friends?
So friends, in this way you can Create Checklist in Excel

Very Helpful
Love the video. Changing the name doesn't work for me and the box doesn't move if the cell changes sizes. Neat idea though.
Very good video, thanks. If I have a recurrent task list, how can I add a bottom to clear/ clean checklist to be ready to use again. Thanks
Great suggestion! Will check
@@dptutorials I found it and did it. Create a button and record the cleaning process as a macro. Assign the macro to the button. The challenge that I have now if replicate that if I want to create more than one task list.
Very helpful thank you

i dont know how to hide them but what can you do is put them very far awar, or make their fonts white
You right click the letter on the column, in this case “D” and there should be an option to hide the entire column
