The Cruel Prince was such an interesting book for me to read, because normally I hate books were the love interest treats the main character terribly ( City of bones, A court of thrones and roses etc). But I enjoyed the romance in The Cruel Prince a lot and I think its because the book doesn't treat it like a healthy relationship, it acknowledges that it is bad, and that's the point. The characters in the book are morally gray and do bad things, they're not supposed to be setting an example, unlike in other books like City of Bones where the love interest is literally part angel and the romance is supposedly perfect. Rant over.
Literally took the word out of my mouth, you explained that so well. I also think that people shouldn't recommend it as a romance novel, because its more of a revenge novel with a subplot of romance lmao.

I picked up The Cruel Prince after your review and was still convinced I wouldn't enjoy it but of course I loved it and have almost finished the entire series 😂 so will definitely try some of your other faves, thank you! ☺
I genuinely loved the whole caraval series and tbh the first book was the least impressive but the others have such a special place in my heart. I absolutely adore them.
Me three, I really loved the Caraval series, but I understand and respect her reasons for disliking them. Well, the good news is, she loves the folk of the air series, so that's good for me.
Thank you for acknowledging the incredible level of “Six of Crows.” Honestly, I’ve always wanted to read more YA fantasy romance books, but my first experience was with Six of Crows😂. And ever since then, I struggle to feel satisfied with any other book because I can’t help but compare them to Six of Crows, leading often to some disappointment. Of course, everyone has different preferences, but in my opinion, some YA romances tend to become cringe-worthy, overly cliché, or excessively cheesy, which hinders my immersion in the story. So it’s refreshing to find someone with similar book tastes, and I’m eagerly looking forward to seeing which other book series you ranked highly (I couldn’t contain my excitement and paused the video when you were discussing Six of Crows so idk yet what it is🫣)
I had started my fantasy binge with The Cruel Prince series (which was great) and picked up Six of Crows because of this video and now in the same boat as you. I can't enjoy any more fantasy because Six of Crows have set the bar too high
I've been in love with reading since the 3rd grade. My little brother? Not so much. Yet, when I told him to try out the Throne of Glass... We became obsessed together. Never seen him love a book, period. 😆
I totally understand you didn't like the Mortal Instruments but maybe try Cassandra Clare's the Infernal Devices (Clockwork Angel is the first book in the trilogy). Set in Victorian era London, it's got a great dark and gloomy atmosphere and a love triangle that's actually done well😇
I honestly really enjoyed every Shadowhunters' book except the Mortal Instruments saga. I read them just because it's important for the continuity of the storie, but they aren't nearly as good as the others in that world
This video was really useful because my 14 year old daughter has just started reading YA books. She's reading Six of Crows at the moment and loving it. I now know to avoid Court of Thorns for a while because she's not quite old enough for the smut. 😆
@@faith5620 I was 15 when I read it was did not know it was smut. Fell in love the characters and finished the story out however. And my parents are fine with me reading adult books. I finished this a few days ago and it's the first ya fantasy ever that I just genuinely don't know how u feel about. The premise was AMAZING it was seriously one if the best book premises I've ever seen and it was right up my street so I was so excited. It was just written....wrong. The plot was just not good tbh it was so wierd and went in such a wierd direction and Idk why. It could have been really well don't and been really good but the plot was just all over the place so I was rly disappointed tbh.
@@clearly_a_raccon i agree it had such a nice concept and potential but the execution kind of fell short for me 🥲 i did end up loving some of the characters though
I would highly recommend the newest series from Cassandra Claire called 'The Last Hours', it's a great series with a lovely 20th century london and paris setting, interesting characters and character dynamics as well as a pretty good plot for which you will just want to know what happens next...the best series by this author if you ask me that everyone who likes fantasy should read 💫
Will I enjoy this series if I disliked the infernal devices? Because I have tried so hard to be a Cassie Girlie and so far (I read the entire infernal devices and the first MI book) I didn't vibe with any of them I also thought the 'victorian London' in the infernal devices was a very sad excuse of a historic setting and badly executed, is there an improvement or at least a difference of her portrayal of this time in the last hours series?
@@pretentioussunshine Personally, although I’ve only read the first book in The Last Hours, it’s pretty much a sad copy of the Infernal devices. If you did not like that series, you probably won’t like this one either. But, then again, heaps of people do love it (although I thought it was pretty eH) so if you’re willing to try it out, give it a go.
I recommend the book "Six Crimson Cranes" by Elizabeth Lim. Absolutely adored reading it and it is asian folklore based and very different from any other fantasy I have read.
I’m wary to start any of her other books because I read spin the dawn and it had such a strong start, but then it went down mid way as the sacrificing for romance and the mc girl being whiny got to me. I didn’t love it enough to read unravel the dusk
I actually really loved Sorcery of Thorns 😅 It gave me strong Howls Moving Castle vibes, which is my favorite Ghilbli film, but I do see the flaws it had.
the gilded wolves books are SO good. I read the first one right when it came out and have been screaming about them since and yet it's not that popular, which is just truly tragic. I'm glad you appreciate them leoni
I recently reread Caraval, and I feel like while I loved it at the time, there is definitely some stuff in there that does not sit well as me anymore. HOWEVER, the spin-off series, Once Upon a Broken Heart, is easily one of my favourite YA fantasies. It follows one of Caraval’s side characters, Jacks, as well as a girl named Evangeline, and because they are just inherently more interesting characters, it allows the worldbuilding and the storytelling to excel in a way that Caraval cannot quite do. You should definitely try checking it out… and actually finishing the series this time 😂
I agree! I highly recommend the Once Upon a Broken Heart series. I feel like it’s better than the Caraval series. I just loved the characters and the world building better.
I keep dropping it I've had the book for what a decade or something (might be exaggerating but I've had it for many many years) and I can never get through it and I want to 😭
sorcery of thorns??? i loved that book 😭 the atmosphere was sooo good & that cat character was so memorable. i gotta try and find your full review of it, if you ever did one
Iron Widow! OMG I consumed that book in one day. Then I couldn't get my head out of it for weeks. LOOOOOOOOOVED it! The main character is so full of rage, no empathy. The love triangle is seriously a love triangle.
I feel like I have a really similar taste in books to you, so I 100% respect your opinions… but I’m also really sad that you disliked Caraval because it’s one of my favourite series, although I do think the first one was the weakest of the three. I also really love Once Upon a Broken Heart by the same author - amazing slow-burn romance ❤️
Ember in the Ashes series was really good. I picked up the first book because I had nothing else to do and I was just hoping I’d at least be semi-entertained, and I was blown away! It’s definitely worth a ready!
so i hadn’t heard of the night circus before i read caraval… but i absolutely LOVED the whole series. one of my favorites for the whole summer. also the covers are so pretty, ESPECIALLY for legendary
I’m so surprised Heir of Fire is where you bailed on the series because that’s the one that convinced me to keep going! Yes, it’s completely different from the first two but I think that’s ultimately for the better. It really needed more POVs to tell the story and they’re super interesting. On the 5th book now and loving it!
I was kinda nervous were you'd put the Grisha trilogy but I really loved what you said. it was my very first YA fantasy series to read and finish and I loved it immensely 🤎
ahh i love the kingdom of the wicked series!! i love the vibe of sicily in summer, witches, demons and murder. yes emilia is dumb sometimes, but the princes of hell make up for it imo!! they're really interesting characters. the second book has a (visually) completely different vibe but i thought the writing was so much better. i devoured in in two days, i think.
the red queen series is what got me back into reading!! i think we all have that series or book that isn’t objectively “good” but we still love it for sentimental reasons. i love to see what that book/series is for other people too :)
YES YES i just loved it. but to be honest it could have been so much better if mare decided to pick maven. like literally I've never read a book where they have done this (the main character picks the villain). well maybe caraval, but still
Was writing late at night, this was AMAZING procrastination. So thanks!! Great fun. I think if I would do this myself I would add some tier named "I liked this but I really should not have" and add like 5 of these books to it 😂
I was so impressed to see opinions so similar to mine, then came To Kill a Kingdom. Girl the world was so dumb, so empty, 100 kingdoms, where???? no nap no nothing. literally go girl give us nothing, also the characters seemed so simple? Plain? Typical? She just got legs and a sword for the first time and she nearly keeps up with the prince? Who was trained all of his life? naaaaaaaaaaaaaah The enemies to lovers was good true and i like the blue lips princess (forgot her name) but it doesn't deserve more than 3 stars IMO
exactly this!! I was expecting her to put it right down in the "give us nothing" tier and I was shocked hahaha! I know that I read the book but I don't remember anything.... new tier: "he could be walking down the street, I wouldn't know a thing."
Throne of glass is one of my favorites it’s what got me into fantasy to begin with and the only book that I didn’t totally get into was tower of dawn. Just not a big fan of chaol
I’m a businessman. “No more, no less.” “You’re a thief, Kaz.” “Isn’t that what I just said?” Kaz is one of these characters that you are afraid of, not because they are insane (and yes they are absolutely insane),no… you fear them because you know they speak the truth.
the autor of iron widow made a video about the chinese emperor that inspired her to write the book, you should def check it out it's a very interesting bit of history
the caraval series is sooo good. I get that the first book could have been better but legendary and finale were some of the best books I have ever read they are so good. you cannot properly rate this until you read the rest of the books.
Agree! It wasn’t trying to be the night circus and even if it were, it succeeded to be something else on its own. The first book definitely isn’t the best but I loved the series as a whole!
i actually really loved Sorcery of thorns 😅, Margret Roberson was able to create a naive but badass main character, and we understand why because she had grown up in a library and didn't know better. She was also able to make such a platonic and wholesome friendships with side character without creating a love triangle, plus the descriptions and imagery we get and the uniqueness of them were just GREAT! like, for example “Something drew tight inside of her, like a violin string awaiting the touch of a bow. Looking down at him, her heart ached with a song that did not have words or notes or form, but strained nonetheless to be given voice- a sensation that was not unlike suffering, for it seemed too great for her body to contain.” -Margret Rogerson. it also gave howls moving castle x the fullmemtal alchemist vibes
I LOVE your videos about YA fantasy, especially bc I love it so much myself! and the opening line "the only series that deserves to be up there with six of crows" just got me ngl 🤣
such a good series🤌 only thing i didnt like was scarlet i hated her. idk what her plot line was bc after her first few chapters i just started skipping her segments🫣

Hello, i would like to recommend reading School for Good and Evil series by Soman Chainani. It has animated book trailers for each book, and it's fun watching each trailer (1-6) before reading its respective book because it hypes you up and the energy is exactly what you get when you read it-- like a dream come true. It left me awestruck. This whole series revived reading for me. In terms of pure chaotic fun it's up there with the likes of Harry Potter (and maybe even tops it, considering how HP's vibes got gloomier each book but SGE just became more wild and unhinged) And it's now an upcoming Universal Studios + Netflix movie with posters and cast members released and everything this year. I rarely see any booktuber or bookstagrammer cover it, it's a pity. It's such a twist too. Here's hoping you see this or that i get anyone reading this to try out SGE book 1 😣
Yes! I love this series, I read the first 3 books a few years ago and now I am reread the first three and finishing it. Everything is perfect! I agree with what you say! This book is perfect in everyday!
@@143tay3 Nice to hear that! I thought book 4 flopped because the line of events was so frustrating for me, until book 5 dropped and i was awestruck. It was like witnessing a downward spiral shoot up like a skyscraper. Book 6 then became a really nice tie-in to end the series.
@@aureliaavalon I'm reading book four now I'm like a hundered pages in and it's odd. I really miss the school, I feel like we didn't get to dive into the school as much as we could. The schools were so interesting but we really only got two books of it which is really sad. But I don't hate the setting, it's not what I was expecting but it's alright
@@143tay3 Yes It actually captures that feeling of emptiness once you graduate highschool and know you can never turn back time. That, and, the fact that Tedros and Agatha are going through so much negative events in book 4 really makes you miss school days even more because at least they were more happy back there 😂😂😂 Just to let you know, there's the *School for Good and Evil Handbook* that's published between book 3 and 4, meant for reading before you enter book 4 but can be read whenever, it's a very nice picture book all about the school with hidden letters and skits, very good if you miss the school. There's also a new book published this year titled *The Rise of the School for Good and Evil* which details the origins of the twin Headmasters before the events of Book 1, and in there we are brought into school grounds again to discover the reason why the other twin died and how they did. I read this one, and it was amazing. Hit me up when you finished book 4 and book 5. 😝

22:45 basically like Harry Potter People who read Harry Potter for the first time now think there are so many Cliche. But Harry Potter inspired so many copy cats that literally every part of it became a cliche. The dark lord or chosen one trope wasn't over done until after HP. Then People tried to recreate the "magic" so they could sell like HP did.
Kiss of Deception and the trilogy are my absolute favourite books so far 🥺 the author really has an awesome way of writing and the characters are very well written too! The romance was just chefs kiss, I can also recommend her other fantasy books that take place in the same world! Dance of thieves and vow of thieves 💜🙏🏻
4:36 i had the same exact experience - read city of bones and kinda forgot about the second one halfway through it, but then i randomly started the infernal devices trilogy years later and i cannot believe how much i'm enjoying them. literally finished the first one in one afternoon and rushed to buy the entire trilogy the day after lol
City of bones in my opinion is her weakest series. I LOVED it the first time around, but the second time, after reading the infernal devices, last hours and dark artifices… I did not enjoy it as much. It was just ok. Found the main love interests boring together.
Clary Fray is the most annoying character in the history of YA lmao And I agree I loved the Infernal Devices way more than the Shadowhunters series. I can't believe they're written by the same person.
Hard agree on traitor to the throne!!! Loved how rich and alive it felt!! Also your missing We Hunt the Flame, please go read it it’s really lovely- it’s kinda similar to traitor to the throne but SO GOOD!!! Edit: I’m noticing a lack of Rebel of the Sands love in these comments- such a wonderful trilogy, fun action packed magical lively, just ALIVE and the boat driving thru sand was ICONIC
Leonie!!! Please, please, please give Cassandra Clare another chance! The Mortal Instruments was her first series and The Infernal Devices will change your life!! William Herondale has my heart forever and always!!
I don´t know why people don´t like The Cruel Prince, I loved it. I believe the main reason is that people think is full romance when it is not, but The Cruel Prince wouldn´t be that good if there is too much romance, all those little moments of tension were the best and the politics are a chef kiss. AND THE PLOTS TOO
Megan Whalen Turner series starting with the thief. There is- eventually- enemies to lovers. She chops off his hand. There’s puzzles in the first book. And there’s twists that make sense when you think back. But it’s more fun with no warning so add it to your TBR and forget for a while
I love book videos but sometimes I don't watch them 'cause I don't know what booktuber to watch. Maybe I'm just tired but your book videos are always exciting, I watch them all. Girl knows how to talk about books and life and stuff. 😍👌🏻
I know you probably won’t see this comment but if you ever do a part two to this I’d love to see how you rank the “Daughter of Smoke and Bone” trilogy and the “Strange the Dreamer” duology (both by Laini Taylor) :)
I had the same reaction to Throne of Glass. She was just too perfect. She did everything flawlessly. Consummate assassin. She was beautiful, perfect figure, intelligent, played pianoforte like a dream. Multilingual. No flaws, no imperfections to make her relatable.
I do have to suggest the Aurelian cycle. I just devoured the trilogy over the last 3 days and it genuinely one of the best series I’ve ever read. Every character is compelling in their own way, it includes many adult themes, but it’s wrapped in a story about dragons. The main characters make decisions you can find yourself agreeing with, but also you realize the mistakes they’re making. It does I cluse some adult topics such as sex(very non graphic, skipped over a lot, referred to as sharing someone’s bed), the brutality of war, corruption, and many other things. It covers complex story lines in easy to follow ways and I can tell you I almost cried while reading the last book. I can’t recommend it enough.
Girl I didn’t like city of bones at all but the infernal devices (clockwork princess) was so so good you should totally try reading it!! Like, the vibes, the setting, the victorian london era atmosphere… one of my fav book series ever
I totally feel the Throne of Glass rant. I hated it because of the same reasons, but in the end, I am actually glad I "read" the series as audiobooks (you know, it's easier and quicker to get through instead of reading them yourself), because it turned out to be one of my favorite series ever. :D Still never really liked the main protagonist, though. TOG just ruined her for me and there was only a slight redemption throughout the books.
Omg yesss the wings series I remember getting those books from the library when I was like 12 years old😂😂😂 i really loved it back then, such a cute fantasy series

ember in the ashes is soooo good, definitely slayed. imo its up at the top of the list, but ofc that's only my opinion. if anyone wants to read, you should. you won't regret it. the characters?!? im telling the character development is everything you could ever ask for. heads up, there is a love triangle if that throws you off, but it's not much. like is barely important and eventually forgettable bc the main romance is rlly good. i would recommend being at least 13, even older maybe. a lot of people say 12+, but no. no. My favorite thing abt this book is that it manages to balance everything so well! the plot and action, the characters, villians, pacing. there's a lot im not telling you bc i don't want to spoil it, but its worth reading for sure. ik she didn't finish the series here, but if you like it, PLEASE finish the series bc wow it is amazing. everything. so complex and unpredictable. not cliche at all.
Seeing a lot of these, all I can think of is the Graceling series. A top tier, totally forgotten series. It's so much fun. Also, the Heir series slaps and never gets the attention it deserves
If you liked the concept you mentioned for Everless, of time being a currency, I think you'd love the movie "In Time"! It's basically that exact same thing, but in a more modern setting.
Man you have to finish the lunar chronicles. Winter is the best book in the series by far. It is so amazing and the ending has you at the end of your seat for the entire time.

I didn't unsubscribe like I'd planned afterwards, I watched more of your videos and you've become my favourite channel, not just on booktube.
Me too, i love the trilogy so much 😭
Me three, I really loved the Caraval series, but I understand and respect her reasons for disliking them. Well, the good news is, she loves the folk of the air series, so that's good for me.
I liked the first one only
Thank you for acknowledging the incredible level of “Six of Crows.” Honestly, I’ve always wanted to read more YA fantasy romance books, but my first experience was with Six of Crows😂. So it’s refreshing to find someone with similar book tastes, and I’m eagerly looking forward to seeing which other book series you ranked highly (I couldn’t contain my excitement and paused the video when you were discussing Six of Crows so idk yet what it is🫣)
omg just saw the synopsis of the glided wolves…. Gonna read that very soon (thank you so much) 😭😭
I had started my fantasy binge with The Cruel Prince series (which was great) and picked up Six of Crows because of this video and now in the same boat as you. I can't enjoy any more fantasy because Six of Crows have set the bar too high
BRO FR I HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO ENJOY ANY BOOK AFTER SIX OF CROWS😭
Omg saaaame 😢 when you find a book as good as SoC please share 😔
@@luneluna307 CRUEL PRINCE IS GOOD ( it’s legit enemies to lovers it’s so so good) it’s the only book I relatively enjoyed after reading soc
Throne of glass is a series that got me into reading and i personally loved the first book,im reading empire of storms now ☆
Same. I read it at 15. 21 now and obsessed with reading
me too🥰
I've been in love with reading since the 3rd grade. My little brother? Not so much. Yet, when I told him to try out the Throne of Glass... We became obsessed together. Never seen him love a book, period. 😆
You should read acotar after
@@arrietty1619 ME TOO ToG reignited my love of reading and I’ll always be thankful for that
I totally understand you didn't like the Mortal Instruments but maybe try Cassandra Clare's the Infernal Devices (Clockwork Angel is the first book in the trilogy). Set in Victorian era London, it's got a great dark and gloomy atmosphere and a love triangle that's actually done well😇
the third book, wow! one of the best for sure. It's rare that I read a love triangle that I actually love.
I honestly really enjoyed every Shadowhunters' book except the Mortal Instruments saga. I read them just because it's important for the continuity of the storie, but they aren't nearly as good as the others in that world
i only like tlh tid and tda 🤭 tmi was my absolute least favourite out of the series’
@@erica5881 agreed... i read it just bcoz I just love Magnus and I really wanted to read as much as I can about him.
Wow I must be the only person on the planet that thinks the infernal devices is garbage XD give me any other books she has written over them
This video was really useful because my 14 year old daughter has just started reading YA books. She's reading Six of Crows at the moment and loving it. I now know to avoid Court of Thorns for a while because she's not quite old enough for the smut. 😆
Six of Crows is the best omg
@@faith5620 I was 15 when I read it was did not know it was smut. Fell in love the characters and finished the story out however. And my parents are fine with me reading adult books. It was just the first book I read and was like wait a sec. The put that in a book wow. Crazy. With ignoring smut, the book is like good eggs.
Meanwhile on fanfic websites people as young as 12 are WRITING smut 😂
caraval is literally one of my favourite fantasy books ever😳 it’s okay…it’s okay🥲
Sameee!!! Please, Caraval is AMAZING!🤩💘 I was so mad when she ranked it at the bottom…
1:30 Leonie reading the best tier
Me, a kanej stan, crying in the corner of my room
I would highly recommend the newest series from Cassandra Claire called 'The Last Hours', it's a great series with a lovely 20th century london and paris setting, interesting characters and character dynamics as well as a pretty good plot for which you will just want to know what happens next...the best series by this author if you ask me that everyone who likes fantasy should read 💫
Yessss, you should definitely read other series by Cassandra Clare and you don’t even need to finish The Mortal Instruments
Will I enjoy this series if I disliked the infernal devices?
Because I have tried so hard to be a Cassie Girlie and so far (I read the entire infernal devices and the first MI book) I didn't vibe with any of them
I also thought the 'victorian London' in the infernal devices was a very sad excuse of a historic setting and badly executed, is there an improvement or at least a difference of her portrayal of this time in the last hours series?
@@pretentioussunshine Personally, although I’ve only read the first book in The Last Hours, it’s pretty much a sad copy of the Infernal devices. If you did not like that series, you probably won’t like this one either. But, then again, heaps of people do love it (although I thought it was pretty eH) so if you’re willing to try it out, give it a go.
@@axolotl6215
I'm not sure if I'm willing for yet another disappointment so thanks for letting me know
I recommend the book "Six Crimson Cranes" by Elizabeth Lim. Absolutely adored reading it and it is asian folklore based and very different from any other fantasy I have read.
Yes yes yes this book is beautiful!
Omg I just bought it! Pretty much bought it because of the cover lol
I’m wary to start any of her other books because I read spin the dawn and it had such a strong start, but then it went down mid way as the sacrificing for romance and the mc girl being whiny got to me. I didn’t love it enough to read unravel the dusk
Ooh yes I loved that book!
I actually really loved Sorcery of Thorns 😅
It gave me strong Howls Moving Castle vibes, which is my favorite Ghilbli film, but I do see the flaws it had.
same lol
me 2!!
I too loved sorcery of thorns ❤️
same down to a T omg
theres supposed to be a sequel this year and I'm excited
the gilded wolves books are SO good.
I'm shocked that you never read the raven cycle (the best YA fantasy series in my totally objective opinion)
Is it really that good? I still can't get through the first book
YES
@@mims1267 YES YES YES, please read it. i totally agree best fantasy series. it is just a total slay
the Raven cycle is factually the best YA fantasy series
I keep dropping it I've had the book for what a decade or something (might be exaggerating but I've had it for many many years) and I can never get through it and I want to 😭
I'm fascinated by your egg analogies, 10/10 content
sorcery of thorns??? i loved that book 😭 the atmosphere was sooo good & that cat character was so memorable. i gotta try and find your full review of it, if you ever did one
YES YES YES
Sorcery of Thorns was 5 stars for me. Lovable characters? Check. Amazing vibes? Check. Interesting plot? Check.
Ember in the Ashes series was really good. I picked up the first book because I had nothing else to do and I was just hoping I’d at least be semi-entertained, and I was blown away! It’s definitely worth a ready!
Lets be real. ACOTAR is NOT a young adult fantasy novel. Especially not as you continue the series.
so i hadn’t heard of the night circus before i read caraval… but i absolutely LOVED the whole series. one of my favorites for the whole summer.
also the covers are so pretty, ESPECIALLY for legendary
I’m so surprised Heir of Fire is where you bailed on the series because that’s the one that convinced me to keep going! Yes, it’s completely different from the first two but I think that’s ultimately for the better. It really needed more POVs to tell the story and they’re super interesting. On the 5th book now and loving it!
I was kinda nervous were you'd put the Grisha trilogy but I really loved what you said. it was my very first YA fantasy series to read and finish and I loved it immensely 🤎
Me watching this video while reading "SHADOW AND BONE" and absolutely loving it..
i read the gilded wolves because you recommended it and it was one the best decision i have made ✋😌
ahh i love the kingdom of the wicked series!! i love the vibe of sicily in summer, witches, demons and murder. yes emilia is dumb sometimes, but the princes of hell make up for it imo!! they're really interesting characters.
the second book has a (visually) completely different vibe but i thought the writing was so much better. i devoured in in two days, i think.
Same lmao i loved it
the red queen series is what got me back into reading!! i think we all have that series or book that isn’t objectively “good” but we still love it for sentimental reasons. i love to see what that book/series is for other people too :)
YES YES i just loved it. but to be honest it could have been so much better if mare decided to pick maven. like literally I've never read a book where they have done this (the main character picks the villain). well maybe caraval, but still
@@victoriabonev4964 Completely agree on Maven. Completely.
Okay I know this is a really late reply but I just recently got back into reading after like 2 years and it was red queen that got me here lol
Yay! I love ranting Leonie! I literally laughed out loud when you're like, "What's another dish I like with eggs in it? A PANCAKE!" 🤣
I've actually never heard anyone talked about Eon/Eona, this is series is so so good!
El príncipe cruel es el que he leído y me acuerdo que fue el detonante de empezar leyendo historias con faes. ✨
i have a terrible habit of not finishing the last book in a series too, but I do it even with series i’m really loving 🤦🏼♀️
Was writing late at night, this was AMAZING procrastination. So thanks!! Great fun. I think if I would do this myself I would add some tier named "I liked this but I really should not have" and add like 5 of these books to it 😂
"it's good..but in the end it's just soup" 😂😂😂I loved this one
I was so impressed to see opinions so similar to mine, then came To Kill a Kingdom. Girl the world was so dumb, so empty, 100 kingdoms, where???? no nap no nothing. literally go girl give us nothing, also the characters seemed so simple? Plain? Typical? She just got legs and a sword for the first time and she nearly keeps up with the prince? Who was trained all of his life? naaaaaaaaaaaaaah The enemies to lovers was good true and i like the blue lips princess (forgot her name) but it doesn't deserve more than 3 stars IMO
totally agree on that, the premise had me hooked, but in the end it didn't give enough
exactly this!! I was expecting her to put it right down in the "give us nothing" tier and I was shocked hahaha! I know that I read the book but I don't remember anything.... new tier: "he could be walking down the street, I wouldn't know a thing."
Same lmaoo

I swear, I NEED MORE REBEL OF THE SANDS STANS!!!! I need to reread these books someday again and I remember book 3 absolutely killing me 4 years ago
for real!! it deserves more hype
I’m a businessman. “No more, no less.”
“You’re a thief, Kaz.”
“Isn’t that what I just said?”
Kaz is one of these characters that you are afraid of, not because they are insane (and yes they are absolutely insane),no… you fear them because you know they speak the truth.
the autor of iron widow made a video about the chinese emperor that inspired her to write the book, you should def check it out it's a very interesting bit of history
the caraval series is sooo good. I get that the first book could have been better but legendary and finale were some of the best books I have ever read they are so good. you cannot properly rate this until you read the rest of the books.
you're so right!
I agree totaly with you 😆
I hope you finish The Lunar Chronicles! I enjoyed it a lot.
Excited!! Love seeing a notification from your channel xx
I love Cinder by Marissa Meyer the whole lunar chronicles series is amazing and one of my all time favs.
I feel like it's so underrated honestly
such a good series🤌 only thing i didnt like was scarlet i hated her. idk what her plot line was bc after her first few chapters i just started skipping her segments🫣
Been having some creeping anxiety today and you always have such a welcoming, comforting vibe that watching this allowed me to come to the present and breath and just be for a little while. And now I feel so much better. Thanks L 🤍
I like falling kingdom, thorn of glass, city of bones series
It's really interesting how different people's taste is. I loved caravel but I hated the night circus I didn’t even finish it😂😭(no offense ❤️)
EXACTLYYYY caraval was good but night circus gave me nothing
I loved both but they're completely different. You can't compare them.
Same. I love the caraval series. Haven’t read the night circus yet though.
@@normamongatane5182 well my problem with night circus was how excruciatingly slow it was. But if you are planning on reading it i hope you enjoy it!❤️
Hello, i would like to recommend reading School for Good and Evil series by Soman Chainani.
@@aureliaavalon I do plan on buying both of those books. Though I do agree that it is actually really interesting. Sophie has became my favourite character now even though I hated her the in the first one. Though Agatha and Tedros are good characters, they are too goody goody for me
Ooop why do I love 3 of the books in your don’t get me started tier 🙈
22:45 basically like Harry Potter
People who read Harry Potter for the first time now think there are so many Cliche. But Harry Potter inspired so many copy cats that literally every part of it became a cliche. The dark lord or chosen one trope wasn't over done until after HP. Then People tried to recreate the "magic" so they could sell like HP did.
The Eon books are so underrated im happy you placed this book on a high tier
Kiss of Deception and the trilogy are my absolute favourite books so far 🥺 the author really has an awesome way of writing and the characters are very well written too! The romance was just chefs kiss, I can also recommend her other fantasy books that take place in the same world! Dance of thieves and vow of thieves 💜🙏🏻
The Guilded Wolves series. I didn't understand what the characters were talking about half of the time but still a 5-star to me. It's that good.
I love that the only series you liked as much as soc is the one that's being recommended the most for soc lovers
Cruel Beauty is the only book on this list I've read so far, and I'm glad my introduction to the genre is considered a good one 😁
Clary Fray is the most annoying character in the history of YA lmao
And I agree I loved the Infernal Devices way more than the Shadowhunters series. I can't believe they're written by the same person.
Hard agree on traitor to the throne!!! Loved how rich and alive it felt!! Also your missing We Hunt the Flame, please go read it it’s really lovely- it’s kinda similar to traitor to the throne but SO GOOD!!!
Edit: I’m noticing a lack of Rebel of the Sands love in these comments- such a wonderful trilogy, fun action packed magical lively, just ALIVE
and the boat driving thru sand was ICONIC
Leonie!!! Please, please, please give Cassandra Clare another chance! The Mortal Instruments was her first series and The Infernal Devices will change your life!! William Herondale has my heart forever and always!!
I agree. Though I love Jem, his character is so lovable.
I agree mostly with the ones i read (except sorcery of thorns
I don´t know why people don´t like The Cruel Prince, I loved it. I believe the main reason is that people think is full romance when it is not, but The Cruel Prince wouldn´t be that good if there is too much romance, all those little moments of tension were the best and the politics are a chef kiss. AND THE PLOTS TOO
I respect every opinion but when she put sorcery of thorns into that tier my heart ached a bit 🥹
Oh my God, I have never seen anyone talk about the Eon duology. Got this from the library on a whim years ago and I had such a good time with it!
Eon and Eona are two of my favorite books ever, I'm so glad to not be the only one to love them!
Bro this should have a gazillion views, Leonie is such a vibe 🥰
Onion soup slaps tho 🧐
Also borshch
I had the same reaction to Throne of Glass. She was just too perfect. She did everything flawlessly. Consummate assassin. She was beautiful, perfect figure, intelligent, played pianoforte like a dream. Multilingual. No flaws, no imperfections to make her relatable.
Aww I actually really loved Sorcery of Thorns :(
Your review on The Shadows Between Us made me sad. I loved everything about it, like literally! I also loved how open you are with everything!!!
Eon duology! I'm so glad someone else read it and loved it
I loved The Mortal Instruments but disliked The Cruel Prince with my everything 😢
I absolutely enjoyed your book tier ranking videos, it’s so fun! 😆 I hope you’ll make more of these :)
Love from Malaysia 🇲🇾❤️
We fully twin with Six of Crows and Gilded Wolves as the absolute PEAK
What's Gilded Wolves about and how is it?
Girl I didn’t like city of bones at all but the infernal devices (clockwork princess) was so so good you should totally try reading it!! Like, the vibes, the setting, the victorian london era atmosphere… one of my fav book series ever
6:13 who’s gonna tell her theres a movie called In Time that came out in 2011 with the exact same concept omg
You should do a reading vlog where you finish the YA fantasy series you gave 4 stars or higher to and see what you think. It could be really fun!
Currently reading the cruel prince and I love it. You know one of those books which completely sucks you in, you keep flipping pages and can't wait to know what happens next. This one is that book for me. Can't wait to read the other two books!
Bruh... just finished reading throne of glass and still crying over the thirteen's deaths and just hating this review because of that... Also, city of bones might start out like a continually teen book but the build up is crazy good!!! so I just continued watching this video for the fact that she put six of crows quote as a tier itself BECAUSE THAT BOOK IS AMAZING...
ahaha gosh I loved the Caraval thrilogy. Although I loved book 2 and 3, not so much the first. Anyway love your videos!
The city of bones prequals are way better than the main series. The City of bones itself was written for a much younger audience
ember in the ashes is soooo good, definitely slayed. imo its up at the top of the list, but ofc that's only my opinion. if anyone wants to read, you should. you won't regret it. the characters?!? im telling the character development is everything you could ever ask for. heads up, there is a love triangle if that throws you off, but it's not much. like is barely important and eventually forgettable bc the main romance is rlly good. i would recommend being at least 13, even older maybe. a lot of people say 12+, but no.
Caraval was the first fantasy book I picked up bc of booktube and uh I want my money and time back 😭
