Looks like you take wonderful care of it. I bet those spindles never get greased like they should. Funny how people complain about mowers from 1 brand to another but fail to realize they use almost all the same components from manufacturers.
Greased prob once a week which is a plenty!! If your mower is clean you ain’t working enough sorry!! It rains daily why would I wash a mower to go out in wet yards. It would literally be clean for 10 mins!! Don’t seem to make a lot of sense to me.
Well I know the acid from the turffs eats the metal and 900hrs on a spindle is doing pretty good. When grease as Ed Wright would say don't blow out the seals from pushing to much grease. I say you grease at 50hrs like the dealer told me ed says he doesn't put grease fittings on his mowers because folks don't know how to grease properly but the oil gaurd system is great and I know about the wiring crap I had one of mine short the pcm but they sit outside yr round and moisture was my cause I assume but I get it they're both great and I wouldn't write either of the top dogs off I've got 4500 hrs on my 1st z3x I bought in 15
I've got 3 zx3's. First one purchased in 2020. It does ok. Purchased 2 last year and nothing but problems. Hydro's, wiring harness, clutches. Then everything is in backorder when you need it. The deck belt is so tight, you can have a bad spindle and not know until the bent breaks or you check them with tension released. Also, the spindles have a pressure valve on them. You grease them until grease comes out of the valve. My last two took 80 pumps per spindle. Crazy, most dealers don't grease these machines full before they sell them. Then we do maintenance greasing and parts wear out before they ever get full of grease.
Buddy we have literally done and had replace all this!!! Last year alone…. Clutches. The anti rotation bracket on the clutch. Main tractor harness on both units. Can’t keep the left spindle in tack for a solid year 🤷🏽♂️. Got one that has 534 hours and the left pump is weak if your on a hill. Not to mention after have a couple zks. They make these Ferris SOOO hard to work on it’s unreal!!!!!! I’ll never buy Ferris again unless it’s just the best deal I’ve ever seen!!!!
This happened to us around the same hours. Also had a fan go through the gas tank. Also, the suspension fell apart my second mow lol. Clutches too. Mine is iffy sometimes to start, due to something in the stand. Also, the electric throttle is unresponsive when really wet. They are headaches now
7:36 min he is 100% accurate. I purchased 2 brand new in spring 2020< then i purchaced a 3rd mower because the other 2 were so unreliable. both main mowers now have over 1000hrs and the back up mower has 300hrs. All operated by younger employees played a big part in the wear and tear.

You are correct they run em like the day is ending all day lol. I currently have the exact same z3 down. Went down yesterday. 😂
what do you need i have a whole inventory just because @@Boglawn22
I have a 2018 ferris z3x kawasaki engine. 72 inch deck I love mine. It is a 2018 model. I think during covid is when ferris had problems with the z3x.
Yes!! My old z3x never had ain’t issues. My new one is currently sitting back at shop AGAIN!! Lol. Won’t stay running after it warms up
Replacing those spindles is tough!
Those hydro fans are a pain to change i think ive done 3 of them
Very very much so!!
they look like your guys beat them to shit lmfao we have 2 of them over 1k hours zero problems
I promise we don’t “beat the shit out of them” but a commercial mower takes a beating either way. Grass is wet first half of the day etc
