That's what the Suppress and obscure part is for my guy, To prevent them from covering. But if they all repositioned to the left and right flank like you suggested that would completely leave them open to a frontal assault.
good points however you can also integrate real time knowledge of the battlefield with the use of drones, along with that breaking up into three teams if you have the manpower is preferable, you have security watching the breachers and amongst them are two teams, one goes inside the trench while the other moves in pace on top of the trench, grenades are also your best friend for moving through corners or securing hardened positions inside of the trench or really any uncertainty
I've heard and been told (not directly) that guy's have started taking stuff like chicken wire thick blankets heavy rubber mats ect ect and using them to build/reinforce roofs and door's in the trenches so fpv and grenade dropper drones can't enter or drop munitions into the trenches anymore (or at least have a much harder time doing so.) I've also heard that both sides are using shotguns and radio jammers to takeout the drones, And are also using thermal reduction tactics/cameo to hide there heat signature from the drones. Among a few other thing's as well but those are the main tactics in use (on both sides) as of now to my knowledge.
I need to ask: Assuming that the enemy is going to suppress and ambush you and your team, which terrain features would you most prefer to be on your side?
You would want terrain with good defilade (aka cover and concealment), Good dead space (aka areas that can't be engaged with direct fire weapons), terrain with good high ground (such as hilltops ect ect because it offers a wider field of view, gives defenders a superior firing advantage and makes it harder for enemy's to maneuver on your position because the enemy now has to move uphill), and terrain that has limited angles of approach with little to none of these things so the enemy can't use these thing's to there advantage themselves.
@@jacobelgan5196 not specifically no (as you'd hardly have Terran features with all these thing's in real combat), But that would be the best defenses position one could probably take.
Can you make a video on assaulting a position with a squad without any support and then showcase different support options and how each would benefit the squad? think it would be a awesome video
A squad (or platoon) would never assault an enemy without a SBF or fire support element because that would basically be guaranteed death, There's even a saying for it "Fire without movement is a waste of ammunition and movement with out fire is suicide."
@@landenjones9374 yes but there are more than 1 form of support, drones, mortars, MGs, GLs, sof, snipers, rockets, air support, covering the changes all of those have when assaulting
@@besh7408 "sof" lmao not to sound like a dick but you obviously know nothing about military tactics a squad would never use special ops as fire support because all military special ops operate in squads themselves.
learning trench fighting was not on my list for today but it's useful to know,
What if the enemy was covering or repositioned to right and left spot

Great channel
Good content. You might talk about drones in trench warfare. They've changed everything.

I think that this segment has been reposted, because I remember seeing this before
Good info as usual

@landenjones9374 correct me if I'm wrong, but it sounds to me like you've described a military base in a non-urban area
