Subsidiary alliance was a policy introduced by Richard Wellesely(Governor general of India from1798 to 1805) Under this policy, Indian ruler were not allowed to keep their independent armed forces,. They should be protected by the company but had to pay for the armed forces. If he or she fails to pay, then his/her territory would be lapsed or become the part of the company.. ❤Like if you like my answer😊

Mangal Pandey was arrested and sentenced to death after he attacked British officers in Barrackpore on March 29, 1857. Anticipating a revolt, British authorities moved up his initial execution date from April 18 to April 8, when he was hanged.

Thanks for your comment! The Revolt of 1857 was a major turning point in Indian history, as it led to the end of the British East India Company's rule in India and the start of direct British rule. It also marked the beginning of Indian nationalism and the start of a movement for independence from British rule.

    Doubt
When the revolt of 1857 was unsuccesful so why the people didnt do again that type of big revolt in the next 3-5 years because company was weak after crushing the revolt and the company could not crush another revolt so quickly.there was a big chance of taking independence 😮😮😅😅
