are you an indian? if not i would find a different career. you won't be able to compete against the 5 million indian offshore resources. the indian managers, which also make up the majority, will also prefer offshore resources because of 'personal' preference, and time zone preference. when they build a team of offshores, you will be a third wheel if you are not... and you will end up being discriminated against or join a different team. i have worked with many salesforce teams. They usually consist of two-three 100% offshore teams (5-6 indians each) and one small team of (2-3) white dudes. they never mix. "love me or hate me, i just dropped a cold fact"
Thank you just started.Haha. Doing the trailhead admin exam prep trail. So much info. Like overwhelming. Seems it will take a couple a months. Is that better to take that long and rather take it slower?
I would say now it is. However, this is definitely dependent on the job market at any given time. Between 2016-2019 it was far easier to get a salesforce admin job than to get the admin certification.
What would you recommend when taking your course? Do we focus on completing your course first then jump to trailhead, or do you recommend per topic we go through your course AND trailhead per topic?
I find it hard to be motivated unless the income potential is worth it. With that being said, what do you make a month in your role, after tax? Can’t find a clear answer online and it’s hard for me to get into something without knowing what real people are earning. Thank you!
Really, really depends on where you live, your role, your tax withholdings etc. However I can say that my first full time salesforce job in 2019 was for 70k a year. Which for us at that time was about 4k/month. At the time was living in Seattle which is very HCOL and was supporting my husband through his masters but it was enough to get us through. I would expect to see a new admin making 75k - 80k in similar circumstances.
I wouldn't use how many badges you have on trailhead as a good way to measure your knowledge. There are so many other ways to get salesforce knowledge! I know a lot of salesforce architects with 10+ certs who only have 50 badges on their trailhead account.
Keep going. 😎👍 The issue can be (at least what I've noticed and ran into) staying on course. The opposite can be true, too. You can have a mess of badges and not much in applicable knowledge or skill.
now salesforce came with a new tittle salesforce associate ,, can we just skip to the admin certificate , is the associate really needed because before it was interduce we did not need i to pass the admin cert ,, confused
Just like the other commenters said. Those are fake company names used in place of real companies. Not important at all to answering questions correctly. They simply provide some additional fluff/context
Yeah like the other Emily said every tech job does require communication skills. But different roles require that more than others. If you’re looking for a job where you don’t have to talk as much I would look into development roles. However you do need to communicate your ideas, road blocks, etc effectively in the little time you are communicating.
I bought your course for the Salesfroce Admin certification. I am about 50% through and it seems like everything was recorded in 2022 according to the timestamps. I know the exams get updated like three times a year. Do you update your course? I have enjoyed the course so far but I am worried that I won't get all the information I need to pass the exam. I emailed you and haven't received any response. Please respond.
Administration me Aisa kuch he nhi..... Ye to logo ne afwahen faila rakhi he Kisi technology pe kaise Paisa kamaya jaye jyada se jyada.. Ab jisne Kiya he use malum hoga Administration matlab halua he..
Hi Emily. Last month I got my admin certification thanks to your important tips. Thank you very much.
Did you use the free trial for testing ?
I’m studying for admin, just passed Associate. Will check out your course
Thank you and good luck! :)

Thank you! This was just what I needed. Funny how this happens sometimes.
Yay! I have been thinking about making this video for a while and was afraid it wouldn't get much traction. So glad it's what you needed!
This test is BEYOND hard to pass. And to be honest, even if I do finally pass, getting a job in the field these days is so incredibly difficult.
This certification is a supplement to your experience
I’m soooo enrolling in your course! Thank you for putting that together
Thank you so much Emily for all the resourceful information that you have provided!
Congratulations. . . 🎉🎉🎉🎉
I wish I will pass is too soon. .

Congrats emily .. i am going to take the exam next week
Good luck!!
Lots of great context here, thanks Emily !
Thanks for the great info and resources Emily!
You are so welcome!
Getting certification is simple but getting job in salesforce admin is very difficult

Are you prior military by chance?
Reason I ask is because trailhead military has a really good job placement program for veterans with guaranteed 1st interviews.
What would you recommend when taking your course? Do we focus on completing your course first then jump to trailhead, or do you recommend per topic we go through your course AND trailhead per topic?
I have tried 5 times and I can’t pass!! Kinda giving up, object manager section is my weakest point… at this point I feel demoralized 😔
Don''t give up, you can do it
@@OfficialJamesGardner thank u
@@franjosh94All 5 times you paid 100dol ? Did u take any course from institute outside? Or just learnt from Trailhead?
Is there any kind of note taking app provided in the testing interface?

Hi do you update your Salesforce Upskill course content as and when Salesforce has changes/updates/new features?
which one should I get first the salesforce Admin or the salesforce Associate?
Does it cost hundreds every time u take it
no it's like $200 i think for the admin one and if you fail, it's 1/2 off each time
you're the ring leader!
Haha! Happy to be the ring leader!
I'm far behind on knowledge i guess, i´m on my way to Expeditioner right now.

pls explain in certification exams ,who is ursa major solar and what is universal containers e.t.c.,
Those are just dummy company names referenced

does this job require strong communication skills and human interaction? if yes, which path within Salesforce requires less of those soft skills?
