    Someone gave me this advice when I was starting out, so I'm passing it on. Until you are proficient at landing, Practice 1 pack, every time you go out of just taking off and landing in Air/Acro mode. Nothing else. You will be a master at landing before you know it. You'll be able to land that thing exactly where you want it every time. This was some of the best advice I got 2 years ago and I highly recommend every beginner to do this as well.

    I have too many hobbies, and one of them was drones awhile back. The avata just works great out of the box and the hand motion controller is great for intuitive flying.

    Great video mate. Down to earth and honest. Just got the Avata 2 myself and I'm really enjoying that and flying manual. A great progression to a true FPV you have made, I hope to one day make the leap myself when I'm totally comfortable to do it. Thanks again and keep up the great content. I'm enjoying this journey you are on.

      Thanks, and that’s all I’m really trying to do is share the reality of my FPV journey. Things will eventually click and feel natural, but then you have to challenge yourself from time to time!

    Hey thanks for the shoutout! I was surprised to see that, but really cool that you did! Always happy to help dude lemme know if you got any more questions!
    If you haven't done it already rotate that little GPS tail so the GPS is facing the sky, and straighten the antennas out each time they get all wonky.
    This was a good well put together experience and the lens you are using for indoors is a good focal length and looks professional.

    As a newb it’s best to land with angle mode on and vlos. Just face the quad with the rear towards you so it makes more sense.

      Start with a simulator like me. Liftoff, Velocidrone etc. FPV is best when you in fly manual/air mode. I am also fairly new, about 3 months old to FPV.

    You see that little square close to the drone's antennas, that is the GPS, make sure to have it pointed up to have the best reseption (1.and because it has to be positioned like that, 2.because in the position it was in during the video you risk breaking it every time you will land). Hope it will be useful for you.

    Also, the props that come on the Avata 2 I feel are made for the motion controller. I put some master aircrew .Props for the Avata 1 and it rips in manual w the controller 3
    . I have different freestyle quads. Bigger cinewhoops , and I love the Avata 2. You can’t run the drone you have in small spaces whatsoever. You can’t do any kind of indoor filming so good luck tho all about having different tools for different jobs

    The avata 2 was never meant to replace a true fpv drone. It was mainly meant to be an introduction into true fpv drone flying.

    • @KrisLuckPhoto
      @KrisLuckPhoto  2 месяца назад

      I don’t think so, I’m sure the Avata has some kind of hardware in it that gives it the response to the MC

  • @TheimportError
    @TheimportError 2 месяца назад

    As a big TIP: I'd recommend getting a fpv drone with an ELRS receiver and upgrade the controller to a commando 8 as example. the reason why is that the DJI controller has random connectivity drops and causes the o3 unit to shutdown causing the drone to crash (I spent hours looking for my drone as the RC lost connection and caused me to lose connectivity all together).

    • @Pixilshooter
      @Pixilshooter 2 месяца назад +1

      Never had random disconnects. maybe its a problem on some older firmware?

    • @ArWeX-1
      @ArWeX-1 2 месяца назад +2

      You really should to set up gps rescue on your drone, regardless receiver
      Had multiple rx loss with dji remote controller on large distances, but with proper configured gps rescue and failsafe - it always come back to me

    • @Pixilshooter
      @Pixilshooter 2 месяца назад

      @@ArWeX-1 Agreed .. Sounds like a good idea regardless...

      I have the same Bob57 PNP. Using my Dji FPv controller 2 & Goggles Integra. Never had any disconnects. I also, have GPs correctly set up .I have tried it GPs rescue & failsafe multiple times. Came back every time. No problems.Mine came with Beta 4.3-still can’t beat Dji Return to home. But, I will probably never fly a geofenced drone again after getting a taste of a traditional non geofenced drone.

    Nice! Curious why you said they killed off the avata 2? You cant even get the avata 2 drone only now. Its "not available" I was on the "reserved" list for 2 months, now its totally gone...oh well..thats another reason why i ordered the fpv drone...

    Just a legal heads up, Be sure for long range flights to get waivers for: "14 CFR 107.31 breaking Visual line of sight aircraft operation", "14 CFR 107.51 Operating Limitations: minimum Visibility", 14 CFR 107.51(d): Operating Limitations: Distance from Clouds, and "14 CFR 107.51 Operating Limitations: Altitude" since Long range breaks a lot of rules under part 107. Luckily the waiver process has gotten easier on the Drone Zone site with the FAA, but i know its a pain in the ass. Especially since flying near clouds isn't allowed due to visibility, and YT posts can fall under Part 107 operations if the video is monetized. Or just send it lol (not legal advice)

      Yeah, was wondering why you would say there might be restrictions around the windmills then proceed to fly around the windmills, as mentioned don't post things against the rules. Also about the flying in clouds, that's a no go as you can't see if some manned craft is in the clouds, even though it's not supposed to be done with something like a paraglider sometimes they have no choice and they're silent so it's not like you're going to hear them, would have to cause an accident or worse involving one

    You need to get one of those voltage checkers/beepers. they cost like a dollar. They go from 2s to 8S. you plugin the balance lead and it will tell you main voltage, and then voltage per cell. You can then press the button to set an alarm. Before every flight I use one of them to double check if my battery is full. In terms of lipo voltages per cell all you need to know is that 4.2v is full and 3.6v is empty as in less then 2% left. Under 3V you will start slowly damaging it, under 2.5V volts you will rapidly start damaging it. Under load the voltage is much lower. A cell at 3.8 could easily be 3.5v under load. Once the load is remove the cell will restore. How much voltage drops you get when under load is called the sag. Older batteries will sag more.
