Happy Birthday to UT Austin! Amazing Otis Lexan Traction Elevators at UT Tower in Austin, TX.

Filmed on July 8, 2016: With ‪@CenTexElevators489‬. Never have I done this before, but I feel that this old video would be perfect for the university’s birthday since I don’t have anything too special now anymore, considering these elevators have since been modernized couple years ago. Unfortunately, the Battle Hall Architectural Library with the 1951 gated Otis elevator was closed for renovations (status of elevator is unknown), and they also don’t want anyone using the science library elevator (including employees) for safety reasons as that 1965 Otis elevator had been functioning uncontrollably which can cause someone to get stuck. I’m pretty sure the GAL elevator with the epic sounding motor is still original as Nick (‪@StormC9101‬) was here last year ago, but I didn’t revisit that one as I pretty much got a really good video the same year I was in town. Installed in 1932, modernized in 1981, and since been fully modernized again in 2020-2022.
