I’m a mechanic at Murphy and have worked on these units many times. This was a complete mod, no more Otis machines. We replaced them with Torin Gearless machines, and MCE 5000 for the service cars and MCE iBox for the passenger cars. The Otis gearless machines ran at 500 fpm and these new ones run at 800 fpm, they are much for efficient for people transportation.
Torin machines are awesome. They are my favorite “generic” machines with imperial being my second favorite. They are almost silent and very efficient. Eventually it will pay off with electrical bills, unless they mod it in 6 years for no reason.
I like the second mod. It's cool to see modded elevators but after like six years and gets modded again it's basically pointless especially for it's price point. But at the same time merphy is great company and creates nice elevators.

Cause Dieselducy filmed these in 2012 and they had Innovation fixtures, but in 2013-14 and after, every video of these showed them having different fixtures which were the ones seen in this video. The mod I'm referring to was just a fixture replacement and cab remodel. Nothing else was replaced.

I would rather see Innovation Universal than this POS that they call "BEAUTIFUL!!!" HELL TBH... I would rather see Schindler VR than this shit!
Personally, the Decorator older cabs don't look as nice to me as the newer, and the chime is annoying. I wouldn't care if they left the nice touch buttons in tho, sad to see more Otis touch go. But, I do love the bruiser ones, they look really good.

I sure hope not LOL.... They existing elevators were already great as is, and the new 2019 Murphys' are fantastic!!!! It would be a horrible idea to mod them again anytime soon....

But I'm hoping this is the last mod for a while being the new mod is a 99% total gut out and replacement of everything from the cars, guiderails, motors, controllers, shaft equipment, doors, etc. Plus, the New Hollister Whitney motors these have were built the same way they way back in the 1930s and are completely handcrafted, and as a result are the best elevator motors on the market today, so ripping them out anytime soon would be really stupid.... Ripping out the Old Otis DC Motors was already stupid enough being they were built to practically last forever too, but the new motors are excellent as well.
The previous mod was just a slap on COP mod with new paneling, cab paint/wallpaper and carpet, and the first mod done in the 90s was just new controllers and fixtures. But the new mod is a total replacement that wasn't really needed despite how good it is. If they mod them again though, I'm gonna lose it...

I am likely font expert maker for digital elevator floor indicator and I can edit and make the elevator font of any kind of LED floor indicator-everytime I listen to music, I make an elevator with wordpad going up when pressing Redo, down when pressing Undo. (Does America still skip 13th floor these days in the elevator? It's just like Korea used to skip 4th floor)
It is becoming less common. I've been in several buildings that count the 13th floor, though they are newer. However, it is still a relatively common superstition. A hotel I stayed at a few months ago in Canada wasn't tall enough (seven floors) to worry about it skipping the 13th floor, but in a bank of rooms on the ground floor by the pool, there was no room 113. I have yet to go to South Korea, but from what I know, it is a common practice in Asia to skip the fourth floor because Korean, Chinese, and Japanese have words for death that are pronounced very similarly to their words for 4. In my personal experience, hotels are a notoriously superstitious bunch.

The best known of these whose elevators I've had the privilege of riding are the Wells Fargo Center (office), the Promontory at City Creek Center (residential), the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints office tower (office), and the Grand America Hotel (lodging).
WTF was the point of this mod, even though it was ALREADY MODDED not that long ago?! Is it something to do with building codes or elevator codes that every elevator must have some sort of vandal-resistant these day?!?!
@@williamscoufaras7045 All of the elevators here were just fine and this mod was totally unnecessary as the elevators were perfectly efficient. The only reason I approve this mod at all is because the new cabs fit the new modern style of the hotel renovations more, the new motors are just as good as the old ones being the new Hollister Whitney motors are made the same way they were in the 30s, and they made the elevators faster. But it wasn't really needed though whatsoever being they already were perfectly efficient and being they just had did a slap on mod and cab refurb just a few years ago
I would've actually been fine with the newest mod... IF... they would've left the hallway lanterns and the curved door frames at the lobby level. They obviously could've left them as they DID leave the curved door frames on the new ones on 25.
@@FloridianElevators What I'm saying about the doorframes is the curved ones are gone (replaced) on the 2 new ones on the bottom level but all 4 are curved on 25 (including the new ones). I wish they would've left them alone on the bottom floor also...

So what I'm saying is they didn't have to change the landing doors & frames and that I'd like the new ones much better if they would've just left all the landing door frames original.

Also to clear it up, these weren’t modded in 2013-2014.... they were modded in 2004 I believe, just cab, fixtures, and controllers.

Did you film the Suite Tower Elevators?
Yes. Video of those is coming soon. Those are set to be modded next year once these are done.

It isn't due to codes. According to a video the Galt House made, they WANTED to mod them again.
They should go back to OTIS Touch because OTIS Touch is EPIC and I'm not happy with these mods and they're very dissapointing

They didn't actually. The only reason you saw any up there is caused the elevators that still were the same from the previous mod still had them.
