For some reason, I prefer you adding the water to bleach, think the two shades absolutely stunning! Definitely will be making your apple donuts! Recipe sounds delicious! Thoroughly enjoyed your video!
I just found your channel and I am thrilled to find someone who lives locally. I live in Goose Creek and am constantly looking for shops to visit. I love going to thrift stores as well as shopping any local merchants who have antiques or just some country finds. Those donuts look fantastic. I must make them soon. Please let me know what other shops you have found locally. I will be watching more of your videos now that I found you.
I am so happy you found us! One of my favorite antique shops is the Summerville Antique Gallery. I love the people there, the prices are very fair, and they have great stuff! I also shop at the Goodwill in Summerville and Goose Creek, but they are very hit and miss! Second Chance Thrift Store on Old Trolley Road is also a fun place to go! Let me know if you make the donuts! They are so good!!
Welcome! We are so happy you found us and are enjoying the channel! Thank you for subscribing! :). There is lots of fun content coming over the next few months!
Just got back from a stitching retreat and catching up!! LOVED your pine cone tutorial....what a great idea for a lovely and simple gift. Oh I would have spent a lot of money at that store, Paula. Everything was perfection. I do have a number of velvet pumpkins thanks to a sweet gift from my sister in law. At present they are piled in a blue and white ceramic footpath on my dining room table.. Thanks for all the great fall ideas.
Hi Arlene!! Thanks so much for taking the time to comment. I’m so glad you enjoyed the video. I had such fun making the pine cones. I’ve done some more using velvet ribbon in a soft mustard, a lively green, and and a cocoa color. I’m planning to use them on a small Thanksgiving tree that I will display on my sideboard on Thanksgiving!
These are my favorite videos, when you share shopping, a craft and something delightful to eat. My Aunt lives in Somerville so I can’t wait to visit these sweet shops and maybe I’ll see you shopping there!
Good morning Paula! I would love to shop in both of those shops you featured in today's video! Yes, yes, yes, get those pumpkins in your shop! I agree about the stems being very important. The handcrafted potpourri is gorgeous. Expanding your shop sounds so exciting! I absolutely love those pinecones!!!! I will definitely do that craft. I have some German glass glitter that I will sprinkle on. I think the brown satin ribbons are perfect for the pinecones. Very elegant! The doughnuts look yummy! What a fun video to w and up to today! 🍂🍁🐿🌾
Good Morning Justine! German gitter is perfect for the pinecones. That is what I wanted to use, but alas .... I did not have any lyng around the house. I think I will check my local craft store for some! A beautiful dusty blue ribbon would look beautiful with the chunky German glitter. If you do make the pinecone craft send us a picture. I would love to see them! Thanks again for your support and excitement about the online shop and our channel in general! We appreciate you!
Such an inspirational video. Now I want donuts!! I share your longing for Fall. I live in Texas, but I am an Ohio Buckeye who misses the apple farms and apple cider and yes the donuts. I definitely could do some serious shopping in that French Mercantile. I look forward to the new items in your shop, I think that will be fun. I save the stems from my pumpkins and have quite a collection, so when I make a pumpkin or buy one that looks good except for the fake stem, I pop it off and glue on a real stem!
Great idea about the pumpkin stems!! I definitely miss the fall with the gorgeous colors and crisp air!! Thanks for all your support and encouragement Chris! 🥰
I am definitely interested in your shop-love the three bee pillow! The French Mercantile really appeals to me, also....the bleached pinecones would be a great addition to anyone's Fall vignette.
I can see why you enjoy The French Mercantile so much - so many beautiful items. The pine cone craft will definitely be a part of my fall/Christmas projects as they are so beautiful in their simplicity touched with soft gold. Can't wait! What's not to love about homemade apple cider donuts - such a treat. Thank you for sharing, Paula.
Oh, wow! Where to start? Loved this video. Can’t wait to try the bleached pine cones. If you sell the potpourri in your shop, I would buy it. Finally, your daughter is gorgeous!
Thank you so much for your sweet comments! The bleached pine ones are so easy and fun to make! We have ordered the potpourri so I will definitely be updating folks when it is in the shop! And finally, thank you for your comments about my daughter 🥰. She is a sweet girl with a gentle spirit! It’s hard to believe she’s a senior in high school - time sure does fly by!!
Your ideas sound great! Those stems on those pumpkins are the perfect touch - they draw you in. Great video love the craft project. Thanks for sharing. 😊
Hmmmmm Apple Cider Donuts!!! Love them too. I've lived in Wisconsin and now in Illinois, and we are lucky to have apples here....Cider is delicious!!! TYFS ❤😊
Thank you for such a fun video! I really enjoyed the craft segment and also the doughnut part! I’m going to try making some of those pine cone tree ornaments!🍁❤️🇨🇦
Great shops! 🍊🍊I do clove oranges for Christmas…much easier if you use an awl to make the small hole first. 🍊🍊 Yes…do carry the spiced bags of bowl filler ! Love your bleached pinecones !
Thank you! I am going to get an awl or at least use a knitting needle! Thanks for the encouragement about the shop. It has been a dream for my sister and me to get this going! We are super excited!
Loved the video! I especially liked how your pine cones turned out. I think your's looked even better than those in the store. I liked the touch of brown on yours.
New subscriber. Charming video. Hazel sounds like a wonderful companion. Oh and Phoebe does too! What would we do without a fathful furry friends? I look forward to your next video. Vivian from Texas 😊
Thanks for subbing! We so appreciate you and your very sweet comments! I am so happy you found us and are enjoying the channel! Hazel is such a wonderful companion - she is my little sidekick! And Phoebe is so sweet and gentle! 🥰🐶🐾
I saw some items in that second store that I would love to get! Also, my plan today is to make apple cider doughnuts and I came across your video. Lol I need to freeze them, though, for later. Do you know if they freeze well?
With four teenagers I’ve never had the chance to freeze them LOL! But I think they would be fine to freeze. I would not do the butter and sugar coating before freezing them. Just thaw them and warm them up and then dip in the butter and cinnamon sugar mix! 🥰
Have you heard about making air fryer donuts using pillsbury biscuit dinner rolls? I imagine a hole in the center could be made using a small circular item.
I absolutely love to shop at those kind of stores but the truth is there is nothing in those stores that you need. Today's impulse buy tomorrow's clutter. Choose wisely. Now something like that mirror that could be a statement piece that will not be a regretful buy.
This was such a fun fall day! I hope you enjoyed spending time with me! What are your favorite fall activities?
Pinecones look great , good replica , thank you.
Thank you!🥰

You have to check out those little shops when you are in Summerville. They are right across the street from each other in downtown Summerville

No apple trees in the South. North Carolina is in the South.
That’s true! But Macintosh apples don’t seem to be grown even in NC.
Might you know what wood those awesome cutting boards were made of?
I don't know, but I have no problem going back and checking! Any excuse to go to the French Mercantile!! LOL

Hello! Thanks for saying hi and Happy Fall!

Yes, it's important to choose wisely. It's often a fun day to find inspiration such as the pinecones. Thanks so much for watching! XO
