      Hi Andrea 😍💐 thank you so much for your kind comment, and for once again, watching my video 🤗 It was a beast, yes! Now, it would be nice to get it to grow something on the back and, and maybe cover up the bare canes? Or, in 2 years I can clean them up if nothing has happened by that time. Which will be another great project! I love cleaning up orchids 😅 wishing you a beautiful rest of your day, lovely lady 🌸

Considering that 80% of my collection is struggling with the conditions, it is so nice to have some orchids like this one, and the cymbidium doing so well in these conditions! A blessing!! Your's has the potential to bloom next year... it is big enough, Stephen! It is going to be fun to see new growths coming on your's soon. Seeing as you have it indoors, your new growths should start sooner rather than later 👍🏼 thank you so much for joining in, and for taking the time to come and have a look see at what mine is doing in the cold climate of Southern Spain 🥶😫 have yourself a beautiful Friday 🌸

    🦒🙌🌷🙋‍♀️!!! Really amazing, she did not skip a bit even after she was divided!!! The different colour of the blooms of main plant vs keiki shows how light matters in every aspect, if there was any doubt about it. The blooms last a lot longer if placed in a shadier spot though and in my case the scent gets more intense as the buds get more mature. Same happening now with my kingianum, the scent became amazingly intense. I don't recall having kingianum and Berry Oda in bloom at the same time last year, I beleive they were a couple of weeks apart, so I agree that Berry came into bloom earlier this year. Isn't it great? Miserable weather yesterday here, windy and more cloudy than sunny and it only rained after dark. It is a good thing though, I have some more rain water to store, hoping for more if the clouds expected today do their job. Have a wonderful day, vecina favorita, hope you have more sun and warmer temperatures 💖🥰🤗

I am happy to have the Berry in bloom... you are right, it is nice. The cymbidium and Berry are really highlighting my east side 🤩 I have cold hands! The sun is playing games, I thought that I could move the orchids outside this morning, but, now it is overcast and 3 degrees colder than when I woke up.... 14ºC 🙄 I look like the Michellin Man all bundled up 😅 it gives me the opportunity to respond to comments sooner than I normally can 😅 thank you for your continued support, for watching and for taking part! I removed a spike keiki from Jonathan's Glory and grew it on, that plant now lives with Paula and is blooming, so it can be done. It won't always work, but it can.
    Your Barry is still quite a nice specimen. Not the bloom spectacle you had last year because it was divided, still nothing to scoff at. In a year or two, it will be back to its old self. As for the back part sprouting, it isn't likely unless you go in and make a cut on the rhizome. That was the only way I could get my Jonathan's Glory to grow from the back part of the plant and start wrapping around the branch it is mounted on. It only wanted to grow in one direction, even though I had mounted the back part out where it would get more light. I may go in and make another cut after it finishes blooming to see if I can get it to push back toward the center, which is now getting old and tired.

    • @NinjaOrchids
      @NinjaOrchids  2 года назад +2

      Don Miguel 🥰💐 hola jefe! I will give this next spike keiki hybrid the opportunity to do something similar for me! Even if it doesn't make it, those roots are just not going to be wasted. Won't know until I try this other option 👍🏼 The cut in the rhizome was made when it was divided into half... that was a massive cut and that is my speculation, it should be enough of a cut to trigger a growth, maybe 2 🤞🏼 I am going to give it 2 years more in the pot as is, before considering removing the bare canes in the back. Let it just settle into that pot, before going all ninja on a cane removal operation 😬 thank you so much for watching, Michael! I almost started moving the orchids outside this morning... the sun was out, but, I dealt with the zoo first, and when I came back to the patio, it was overcast, and now it is so cold, my phalanges are freezing 🥶😑 meh! Opps, now the sun is out again.... playing games with me! Anyhoo... see how the day goes. One thing is for sure, I have The Players to watch, my all time favorite golf course and all time favorite tournament 🙌🏼 Thank you so much for watching, Michael! Have yourself a fabulous Thursday, no matter the forecast 😘🌸

I have the Berry and the cymbidium in bloom, and they compliment each other so well! 👍🏼 I am excited to get a second chance at seeing if I can grow a spike / keiki hybrid on ... this time, taking it off when the roots are a little longer. If it doesn't make it, then ... at least I tried another option, seeing as leaving the other one on the mother plant did not do what I thought it would. 🌸🥷🏼Trish San 😍🙌🏼🤸🏼‍♀️❤️ meine Freundin! Guten morgen 🤗 I like both versions of the blooms... if I did not know, I would be happy with the low light colored blooms. I am a sucker for petals and sepals that have a deeper color on the tips of their structures, and then a lighter color the rest of it. They just make for a lot of interest as well. 😍 gosh... I woke up to sunshine and was about to take the orchids outside, and now the clouds have moved in and it is 🥶 I may get to water the tolumnias and mounts, but everyone else is staying inside. My hands are freezing! So... despite being above freezing, I have to say that, the weather is so not behaving here, at all!! • @NinjaOrchids
      @NinjaOrchids  2 года назад +3

      Hi there 😍💐 I did a comprehensive care video for this orchid, which I will link here, if you wish to have a look ruclips.net/video/k1UrIR9R6tw/видео.html I do not have Den Rainbow Dance, but from what I know about it, if you are growing it in an environment with a temperature range of 10ºC- 26ºC, it will loose it's leaves, if you grow it warmer than those temperatures, it will hold on to the leaves. And either way, it is fine. It does not need cold temperatures to bloom, but it is very temperature tolerant. If you are growing it in a hot climate, then I would protect it from any direct sun, other than early morning or late afternoon. The care for the Rainbow Dance is similar to the Berry, so here is a link to my comprehensive care video that I did for Berry ruclips.net/video/k1UrIR9R6tw/видео.html in case you would like more details. Let me know if any of this was of help. If you want to give me some information about your climate, I may be able to pinpoint more specific information. The fertilizing is really dependant on the size of your orchid, is it in active growth? Your temperature range etc. you cannot go wrong with 150ppm, but the frequency of the fertilizing would depend on the factors I have just mentioned. Let me know if the video that I have linked is of any help! Thank you so much for watching this video, I really appreciate your time. 🌸

    Thank you Nina for this video about your lovely Berry Oda. I did manage to get a very small plant of this one and thought I had lost it. But then spotted a tiny green shoot (yay!!) My plant is about 8-10 cm high and I need to come up with a way to make sure I don’t loose this new growth. It’s very thin and at this stage only about 5 mm tall. Any suggestions on how to promote a stronger growth would be welcome (from anyone). Thanks again.

    • @NinjaOrchids

      Hi Renate 😍💐 glad that your little one is on it's way to growing a new growth, Renate! I need to know if the previous growth (s) have roots... is it potted up, and if so, how? Give it bright bright shade, no direct light. As your's is small, it will not appreciate direct sun. Consider it a seedling. Light is the best way to encourage growth. Oh, and if you are dealing with hot wind and have it outside, protect it from those conditions. It doesn't need exposure to harsh elements. Let me know a little bit more and I can be more specific 👍🏼👍🏼 thank you so much for watching, Renate! I wish you a wonderful evening ❤️🌸

      @@NinjaOrchids Thanks for your reply. My plant arrived in small bark, I left it in that for a couple of months. I then thought it might be ready to transfer to SH leca but it started going downhill fast so I put it back into small bark and perlite mix similar to what it came in. I have the plant indoors on the top shelf of a room divider and it is indirectly under a skylight, about 50-60cm off from any light that comes in. There is never really any direct sun as that is usually at an angle anyway. So, indirect good light is what it gets. The remaining two bulbs + the tiny original bulb have roots but they don’t appear to be growing any more. That’s why I’m so desperate to get this new little growth strong enough so it can develop new roots to carry this plant to better things. I hope that makes sense to you. The nursery that I bought it from doesn’t have them in stock now otherwise I would have bought another just to hedge my bets. I do wish I’d been able to buy a decent size division rather than this runt of a plant that cost me $18. If I were more in tune with Facebook I’d put my feelers out there but I very rarely look at it, find it so time consuming and don’t know where to start anyway. I think Julie in WA got hers from someone locally on Facebook. You’ve just got to be lucky to find these things and timing is everything. I watched the lady in Scotland doing her thing in the care collab and I was green with envy when I saw how tall her pseudo bulbs are, AND it was given to her.
      Anyway enough of my ramblings again, you can’t shut me up once I get going on orchids, I’m so hooked on them, haven’t told hubby yet that I’ve just ordered 3 mature plants that were on my wish list. This is definitely the last. No More!!!

      You have the surroundings of your Berry dialled in, Renate! These guys are tenacious... I am sure that under those conditions it should grow a new growth soonish. It may not grow to full size, seeing as you will be heading into fall, but... every new growth, even if not full size, will grow roots. Keep up with the flushing as per usual, and a little CalMag and seaweed, for a little push of strength, and ... your Berry will be more than fine 👍🏼👍🏼 new orchids!! 🤫 silent scream of excitement, so that hubby doesn't hear me! 🤫😅

I didn’t really want to put it out here but then I’d like more awareness of Neurofibromatosis. It’s not a well known condition (don’t like to call it a disease, sounds so ghastly).
