BKK never fails to amaze. So many good spots in, out and around the city. And this is definitely one of them. So easy to get to and what an escape from all the busy-ness. Thanks Jeroen for highlighting 😎 #GTMTime
We went to Bang Krachao for the first time today. What a wonderful excursion but it was very hot and humid now that the hot season has arrived. We started in the opposite direction. We took the BTS to Bangna and a motorbike taxi to the pier. We had a much bigger shuttle boat across the river. The “floating” market is very nice and it is huge. The wat next to it is impressive. We rented bikes and went to the same park as you. The one warning to those traveling here is that the are few directions in English anywhere. There were no directions as to where to catch the songtao back to the pier from the market. Without my Thai wife I would have had difficulty finding the pickup location. Actually, I can speak enough Thai to do this but others should just plan on there being few English language directions. And they should watch your videos.

I did this just over a week ago on my next to last day in Thailand. If I was a Bangkokian, this would be weekly routine with my own touring bike. Several had the same idea and got a safe serious workout. We didn't cut across on those routes off the main road, as my gf didn't have an affinity towards riding. Nevertheless, it was a great afternoon in this Bangkok anomaly. Maybe it's just me, but I saw quite a few top end single home development projects, and figure in time this location will end up being an oasis of high-end homes. In the end, I only saw a fraction in the five hours spent there, but was immediately aware of this unique geography as some cafes feature satellite images of how the river uniquely loops around this land to almost a choke point as a natural defense. This is a Bangkok gem that will only be more appreciated in time.
Loved the silence, expansive silence you left to immerse the viewer, as if it was me there cycling smoothly along ..... sublime ... will be in bangkok next week and now thanks to your clip devoting a day for this . Looked up restaurants there and Uncle Ooh seems great, unless you know of anything more serene ..... cheers mate , inspiring
All your videos made across the Chao Phraya are my favorites! I look forward to seeing more hidden gems on the thonburi side and the lesser known areas, especially around canals and parks!
Great video of a place that I have been going to for over 30 years. It has really changed a lot over the years. Back in the day there was no park just orchards. I've spent many hours both running and riding my bike in that area. It is always mind boggling that you're just minutes away from Asoke intersection! A lot of paved roads now but still many areas to explore. Oh, and I think that old woman at the pier has been there for ever!

Jeroen, you should let the viewers know they can get there by motor vehicles. My friend's family lives there and taking that perilous ferry is impractical for some of the locals. Still this place is a respite from urban Bangkok.
We will be back in May and I am very, very excited! So, while we’re supposed to be looking for places to live, I’ve promised myself at least an afternoon at this park!

Bang Krachao island has 4 public parks, both local and private, such as Suan Lad Pho Park, and PTT Park.
