I really am confused. This was a normal interview with normal questions. They gave Scott lots of time to respond and talk through his points and the interviewer tossed basic responses back. This book is a compilation of laws that have been passed in each state from the beginning of this country through the 20th century, which were created with the express intention of racial oppression. Each law cited is written out in its entirety and the implications and historic impacts are discussed for each one as well. The book is over 700 pages long. If this isn’t evidence of systemic oppression, what is? To be clear, this is not to say that the “whole entire system is against Black people”, but a lot of it definitely is.
Tim Scott handled this perfectly. He didn’t get angry, his tone was the same throughout the time he was there and he was very professional. Handled the cackling hens on the View very well.

Senator Scott is a perfect example of that. He is not the only black American who has become successful and respected because of his ethics, attitude and hard work. @Patrick Owens It doesn't matter what race or nationality you are, or your economic background. What ultimately determines your success is your attitude and work ethic. Senator Scott is a perfect example of that. He is not the only black American who has become successful and respected because of his ethics, attitude and hard work. There was a quote he attributed to his grandfather. "You can either be a victim or a victor." He chose not to be a victim. That was part of what he was trying to say to the View. You seem to have accepted the victim mentality.

This man has done little for the constituents of his state, especially those who do not share his political religiosity. Are you kidding? He constantly runs on race. I'm the only black Republican in the Senate. My grandparents were black sharecroppers. I was raised by a single mom. People say bad things about me because I'm a black conservative. Obama, on the other hand, never ran on race, despite the much more vicious attacks against him from the right. I'm just waiting for Tim Scott to show me some substance behind his candidacy. Right now it's all fluff, tap dancing, and reveling in how others attack him for being a black Conservative.

I'd say he is already a star I don't see him getting the GOP presidential nomination in 2024 but I wonder if Trump would seriously consider him for a running mate.
