For instance, when my cousin's fiance was attending police training, and their test came up, the requirements for girls were nearly half that of men. Basically, they make it easier so that the women can make it, while pushing the men to their limits. Actually, now that I think about it, there was a story about a female firefighter who ended up getting in because the test givers had lesser requirements for women participants.
***** I was only talking abot firefighting. A department letting a woman get by (I doubt there were separate standards officially) doesn't mean that other departments are also that desperate. Male/female versions of tests are absolutely not the norm in this profession.

Although there were varied expectations as to what the future held for women in the fire service, I found out very quickly that women belonged there. I served four years, and soon got a job in my hometown department. I was there for about eight years before the city hired our first female, and we couldn’t have gotten a better candidate. I’ve worked with many women over the years, and all I can say is that they had to work twice as hard as anyone else, mostly just to beat the stereotype that a woman can’t do the job, to which I say b.s.!
It's true that there are a few corrupt police out there. But most of them are working hard to keep you safe. Maybe you didn't see them pull over a drunk driver that would have hit you. Maybe you didn't see them attest the criminal that would've gone on to kill you in a shooting. But the police work hard everyday to keep you safe, even if you don't see it. Saying police are corrupt is like saying bankers are robbers, teachers are stupid, doctors are trying to kill you. There are some people in each of these industries that fit those descriptions but they don't represent the mass of the hard workers with the same jobs.

I’m a fire cadet in England, I’ve been in the scheme for a year and a bit now. I’ve definitely found what my job is. Being a fire cadet has helped me focus on my future and my job to become a fire fighter. It’s very rare in England to have a woman fire fighter but I want to change that. It has definitely got me somewhere in my life so far and I hope one day I get the job because it’s the most interesting and inspirational job anyone can have.

There are more women in the world than men,unless your counting babies being born,women are not increasing at all and any job is not a mans nor a womans job.There just happens to be more men willing to join that job preferably than women.Just like how you see more women teachers than male teachers its just men are less preferably going to be a teacher.
I did a few of those tests in explorers and once you go around the barrel it gets harder to pull it. I love how they did this. Fire fighters really are about teamwork and always doing their best and encouraging others when you want to quit cause it's too exhausting or too heavy. They train hard and explorers did too. Explorers teaches the value of teamwork and if you need help they really do their best to help each other out. And no one is ever left behind in explorers.
My uncle is a firefighter for Dallas FD and he says they do nothing all day😂 he says they get calls but not a lot and they sit there and play video games most of the time. Still, some of the stories he has told are ridiculous. Respect to all the firefighters.

My 5 foot 1 inch tall, 96 pound Jewish mother helped train firefighters as a contractor when she was 55 years old, ran up the burn tower, while it was on fire, in full gear. Beat a lot of the men's times.
Did you carry a 250 pound person on your back in a building full of smoke running up and down stairs when you did this? Cause I could train to be a soldier (And I have) and say "I beat the obstacle course, I'm ready to go out and fight in a war on the front lines." that don't mean I can.
when I was 15 I went to one fire station and they had us try out stuff like this. It's extremely physical, they were so nice they cooked for us played games with us after. to think that these are the people in my town keeping us safe n helping us out made me feel great
I'm actually a 17 year old volunteer firefighter and training was just like this. Fun, but challenging. I love that other young women will get to see this video and know you can do it. I'm only 135 lbs. and was able to ladder bail and drag a hose in the time allotted. I never knew I could do it but now I do it every week. Don't limit yourself!

I was a volunteer fire fighter in my youth. I highly recommend anyone do it if you have the willingness. It was one of the best experiences of my life.
I want to train as a fire fighter when I'm older, I've been working out and all that, becoming a fire fighter has been my dream since I was 5 years old.

My brothers a firefighter (: he took us to tour the station, and I was able to pick the dummy (they use a 200 pound one) over my shoulder lol they were all like "whaaaatt.."😂😂😂

Women can be stronger than men. There are many women who are extremely strong and stronger than most men. Just because someone's a woman doesn't mean they can't do things that men do.
I've hung around firefighters a good majority of my life and I'd have to disagree. I'd rather a female because the majority of the ones I've met are determined as all get out to save people.
