Just getting back into guitar and it's absolutely amazing seeing what other musicians are doing. I've never played harp but this looks and sounds like a beautiful display of skill on such a timeless piece.
A bit of a misconception about harps from the ancient era, is that they look like modern harps such as the one in this video. The reality is, that harp is an umbrella term for many different types of instruments, just like "fiddle" can be used to describe a violin, viola, erhu, or any small bowed instrument, really. So it is likely that the harps that the Bible tells us that David played was specifically called a "kinnor" which was usually played with only the dominant hand and held by the other, holding it close to the chest.
hello! I really loved this piece - my dad really wants me to play this song on my harp but I never know where to find harp music? I see you've done a lot of modern music - plz could you help where to find modern music sheets - is there a specific website you use or do you use piano sheets? help lol :((
Hey! So I arrange almost all of the pieces I play myself, but I’ll usually use a lead sheet or piano score to start and find the chords / melody to save myself some time. Sometimes I’ll write out the full score, but mostly I’ll just have rough notes and scribbles on a lead sheet 🤣 for this video I used a free piano score from google and adapted it. But I know a few other harpists post official harp scores of modern pieces like Christy Lynn or Samantha Ballard ☺️
Babe it’s creative license 🤣 I’m not claiming this is a ‘perfected performance’ by any means, but if you want to listen to a carbon copy you know where to find the original 😉

How long did it take you to learn the harp?
I’ve been playing for 19 years!
