It can also sometimes make you wonder how many people it actually took for you to be born. Cause if you go back 10 generations it took 2048 people for you to be born

About the ending, theres been many studies about how music is stored in our memories, and how people with dementia unlock parts of their memory temporarily by listening to the music of their childhoods. Basically music is unbelievably rooted into humanity, in all cultures and races, I'd say to be human is to enjoy music, and to enjoy music is to be human
fun fact: the strings played on the guitars can be replayed irl and will be the correct strings, unlike other media where they just play random strings. I love that attention to detail
From a cultural standpoint, Coco means the world to me. The sheer respect for Mexican culture in this movie is just incredible. The music, the food & the preparations for The Day Of The Dead. The culture itself is part of who I am and it's very important, as is the message of the importance of family. Also, the customs agent in The Land Of The Dead was portrayed by funnyman Gabriel "Fluffy" Iglesias.
@@chrisdiokno5600 It blew my mind when I did that bit of research after I watched this movie a while back....I believe it was the year my family and I observed El Día De Los Muertos for the first time.
This movie helped me connect with my Mexican heritage so much. My grandparents died before I was born, so I didn’t have anyone that lived in Mexico to teach me.
I just want to mention a great detail a lot of people missed Dante the dog was a spirt guide from the beginning He was guiding miguel to hector not de la cruz That is just amazing tbh
This movie never fails to make me cry and laugh at the same time. The idea of it gives me comfort that our loved ones are actually there and that they will be remembered. Amazing video once again and I loved to see your reactions, especially to the plot twist🤭
You are the first reactor I've seen to clock why Imelda can't cross over in the beginning! I love watching your reactions because you're SO OBSERVANT! I subscribed today :D Keep up the great work!
I saw a reactor clock on to the twist before Hector paints Miguel's face once... couldn't tell you who, only that it was the chick in a couple's reaction duo. Well, she wasn't sure... she kept going back and forth about Hector possibly being a villain and the actual twist. Only reactor I've seen be THAT sus of him, she was sus until De La Cruz's betrayal was revealed... she did NOT see that coming!
Dante, the dog that follows Miguel, is such an underrated character. In the beginning he tries to warn Miguel about the guitar and after when Miguel crosses over he has him chase him directly into his family. Progressing the story, and helping Miguel’s journey because he is his alebrije and Miguel is the wandering spirit. Coco is my favorite movie of all time I’ve watched it over 100 times, even wrote my English final on it and it has helped me feel connected to my Mexican background.
I’m think the reason why coco was forgetting hector was because she had some sort of memory problem like dementia or Alzheimer’s because remember when she called miguel by a different name in the beginning and she even forgot who her daughter was and she only barely remembers her dad so the reason he’s getting forgotten is because her memory is getting worse.
At first Hector was supposed to be a tour guide, and him knowing every spot in the Land of the Dead still stems from that early concept. In the end they didn’t use it in the movie but it was never discounted either.
Another fun fact, when the people are ridiculing Hector for choking on Chorizo (a spicy sausage 10/10 would recommend), they are actually saying he died blowing someone
@@Enhypenmeencanta it isn't possible, they are just making fun of him for that. Remember that Ernesto's last words to him were "Maybe it's the Chorizo", so from Hector's pov he thought he died of food poisoning from a chorizo, and probably told them that. Those guys just twisted his words to "He choked on some Chorizo", meaning that he choked on some guy's Schlong.
The movie doesnt need to show it Its implied with how miguel is a musician now and got other family members to join in and everyone is happy at the end
The skeletons represent the age of when the people died because if you noticed the little girl and her mother on the bridge when they are bringing Miguel back, she is about 5 years old looking, meaning she died at that age. Imelda and some of the others died semi young as well, minus Papa Julio, Coco's Husband who is the only "old" Skeleton among the family. The offrenda is an alter for offerings that one places the photos of the deceased and their favorite items from when they were alive. This allows them to come visit you and take back the love and memories you offer them in the form of food, drink or even an item like toys or a favorite cup.
That doesn't quite fit, though, because Imelda must have been old enough to imprint her hatred of music onto Elena (because Elena certainly didn't get it from Coco). So I really got the impression that Elena must have been _at least_ 18 when Imelda died, which would probably put Imelda into at least her 60s. The far more likely option, at least to me, is that ages, like everything else in the afterlife, are based on the memories of the living. Specifically, ages are based on how a person is _primarily_ remembered by the living. Right now, Coco is primarily remembered as she was at the end of her life, because she'd only died recently. But 20 years down the line, after people's first-hand memories of her have started to fade, if the photo of her on the ofrenda was replaced by a photo from when she was younger, then she would become younger in the afterlife as well. This would explain why, IIRC, everybody in the afterlife appears to be the same age that they are in their photos.
I can't on any level understand why "Coco" is not talked about more today 🤯 It broke me & I think it is a beautiful film but honestly I think it has been forgotten over time
"Coco is such a beautifully crafted film that not only showcases the importance of family and remembrance but also dives deep into the rich culture and traditions of the Day of the Dead. The animation is breathtaking, with vibrant colors and intricate details that truly bring the Land of the Dead to life. Miguel's journey of self-discovery and his passion for music resonates with so many, making it relatable beyond the cultural context. The songs, especially 'Remember Me,' evoke such strong emotions and remind us of the connections we have with our loved ones, both living and departed. Watching this film for the first time was a heartwarming experience that left me reflecting on my own family, the stories we share, and how we keep our loved ones' memories alive. The balance of joy and sorrow in this story is masterfully done, making it a timeless masterpiece that will surely resonate with audiences for generations to come."

I consider anyone younger than 75 fairly young. And the way she moves suggests she wasn't that old because even coco, even if she is walking after her death, still moves something like an old woman. Based off of all the stories I have heard and read about Dia de los Muertos, they had said that your Spirit resembles you in your last moment of life. Very few suggest otherwise. Some say you appear in death as you did at the height of which your family remembers you most. So like let's say you die at 98 years of age, but everyone remembers you when you were 34 years old, your spirit/skeleton takes on the appearance of you at 34 years of age. But that is one form. Like I said most sources that I learned from sag you appear at the age you died. Because even the aunts and uncles were fairly "young" compared to Julio, Coco's Husband, who was the only "elder" looking among the family.

Fun fact!!! Theres a mural on a wall which shows the incredibles as skeletons. Which technically means that in the pixar universe they are dead. But how did they die is the question?
Oh I never noticed the mural, that’s cool. But the incredibles takes place in the 1960s, and they were probably in their 40s if the movie starts with them in their twenties and then fast forwards 15 years to their non-super life, so them being dead checks out
Also, near the beginning of the film at 2:21 (it's a 'blink and you'll miss it' moment), you can see a van drive past a window that has the 'Pizza Planet' sign on top. It's the one from Toy Story.
if ernesto was miguels actual great great grandfather, why would miguels family hate music if ernesto was successful, and no one knew the backstory of ernesto and hector
If he was successful and never returned to his family, he would do even worse and they would have even more reasons to hate music. Of course it makes sense, Miguel must have thought that the family hated Ernesto for having gone to follow his dream of being a musician, being a big star, and never having returned to his family. What doesn't make sense is that they're angry with Hector. If a loved one leaves and you never hear from him again, you'd rather be worried, sad about not knowing what happened to him. My guy you have been watching the beat movies of our time for the last few weeks so enjoy them because there won’t be many left seeing this new way people have begun making movies.
The only thing that bothers me in this movie is how the hell did they prove the bad guy was the bad guy in the living world? In the afterlife world obviously they see his confession but only the dead see it, in the living world they only have a photo of Hector with the guitar and some kid's word. I wish they went into that just a little bit more.
They also must have shown the picture of Hector with his guitar (which is the same one Ernesto used), proving that he DID know Ernesto before the fame and could have killed him. There is also Miguel's family to confirm that he completely disappeared from the family tree the same year he passed away.
There's a saying that basically goes "Everyone dies twice; the 1st is after their heart beats for the last time, & the 2nd is after their name gets said for the last time." It makes you wonder how many of the billions of people who have died have no one left alive who remembers them?

When you acc think about it, its acc crazy. Hector never got to cross the bridge so did not see his daughter for nearly a century
Try the good dinosaur next please
Stop it 😭
Coco is by far one of my absolute favorite Pixar movies defeated only by Ratatouille.
My guy you have been watching the beat movies of our time for the last few weeks so enjoy them because there won’t be many left seeing this new way people have begun making movies.
First time watching Power Rangers 2017?
Second this!

25:40 you said it a bit weird but I get what you meant, family will support you as long as the things your doing aligns with what they want.
The mc is literally me
Same name, same live situation, same everything(expect the skelys)
i love coco! i would also recomend the book of life, its similar to coco and one of my favorites
37:26, that's taking the term brothers in arms a bit too literally.
Coco had the letters from Hector with the lyrics and stuff
They also must have shown the picture of Hector with his guitar (which is the same one Ernesto used), proving that he DID know Ernesto before the fame and could have killed him. There is also Miguel's family to confirm that he completely disappeared from the family tree the same year he passed away.
Been waiting for this one
LETS GOOO COCO
Miguel's abuelita looks exactly like mine 💀
"How do they clap?"
They just *bone* 🥁
Bro I swear I see you react to these same Disney movies over and over AM I CRAZY?
Damn i just realised the reason the dog could see miguel and travel with him to the other world is cause he probably died. 😥
