This ladder my main character is a lvl 90 Double Swing Barb. Most people go for Frenzy but I love that my main skill doesn't cost any mana. Rocking Azurewrath and Lightsabre and still safely slaying everything. I won't even try to make Grief. I love cheap builds that work
Love the solo offline content. That’s how I play and I just started d2r with a barb. First character coming up and it’s tough but so fun. Nostalgia hits so much. I am trying to get a better understanding of all the great details that d2 offers and your videos are basically one of a kind

Would you describe this as more comfortable ssf leveling compared to frenzy or double swing? I'd really like to build a frenzy barb but tried a while back and just got so bored and frustrated while leveling
Aw thank you! For a frenzy barb go double swing into frenzy. Getting levels is more important so stay on lpwer difficulties longer. Doing a 10 minute p8 baal run on normal still gets you a lvl every 10 minutes till 50. The main trap is trying to move along to fast, chance to hit is very lvl dependant so once the mobs outlvl it immediately feels very weak and tedious. If you manage to roll like a 5 socket naga or something putting an honor in it is amazing as well. It's not for the faint of heart but you can also go low vit to pump dex and strength for attack rating and damage. But frenzy is one of the harder specs through the game. It's bordering on the line of tedious at times for sure
Singer Barb was on some other streamers list of most boring builds, but for me, the ability to howl everything away and get to the pack boss is so convenient. And it's so safe lol
On the first Ladder of D2R i played a Singer Barb in HC as my first Char. Was pretty stupid to be honest, but i got through and ended up farming the Council. Yeah many many times. The Fire Enchanted, Lightning Enchanted bug was still on, but otherwise it was so dumb safe. Got 2 Hoto´s and a Enigma out of Trav. Char still exists with 5,6k HP. Just immortal. Even Diablo Clone was no Challenge. It took really long, but the Merc had just poke it one time with a prevent monster heal weapon. So...
@thenuclearrabbit love the videos. If I may, I actually am doing this build softcore as my first barb in my over 20 years of d2. I made a black and it rips through bosses with 1 point in mace mastery and concentrate. Don't forget the debuff can drop defense to 0
How viable would it be to have a boss specific setup with crushing blow weapons on swap? Maybe throw in g toes and a g face? Throw a couple points in frenzy?
OK a few suggestions. Maybe they're going to be a challenge. Maybe not. 1. Melee necro. Your main attack is going to be from a melee weapon. CE and merc allowed, but no summons or ranged attacks from bone/poison. 2. Golem only necro. 3. No pot Sorc. You can only replenish mana and heath through renen mechanisms. e.g. Insight, warmth, sockets skulls, regen health etc.
@@thenuclearrabbit oh I'm glad you replied ... so ... 1. I don't know what NG+ is, but I've been assuming self found on all my suggestions. I've tried a melee Necro myself and it's hard. Even with poison dagger and there aren't many ways to boost AR and damage with other weapons. Never thought about Act3 merc with static though ... 2. I just reminded myself that golem damage output is really bad, so yeah fair enough. Let me suggest then a play through the focuses more on Golem than other summons, but allows flexibility for other skills such as CE. Just feels like your collection of playthroughs wouldn't be complete without this (I mean you've done some painful ones already). 3. I think a no pot sorc could work ... maybe no mana pots and allow life/rejuvs? Self found you'd be looking for ways to boost your mana pool, regen and still working towards insight. Nearly always only 1 point is put into warmth, if at all, but this might change that approach. Being restricted on mana pots would or should make for a different challenge? After Insight it's probably not much different. Some players may find this instructive because, it seems to me, there should be a way mid-level sorcs can push through without insight until the runes and bases drop; rather than just grinding out Cows or late nightmare or early hell. 4. Or, now that I think of it - self found sorc, no insight allowed? Anyway, those are my suggestions, and I don't expect for them to be easy playthroughs either. It's ofc entirely up to you
Congrats on beating the game with singer. Two things though: A link to skill calc with this build would be much appreciated and the sfx of shouting over and over would definitely drive me crazy. XD Also I'd suggest turning down the game volume so it won't interfere with your voiceover as much, but overall the content was fun to watch. Kudos to you!
Thank you! I had never even heard of skill calc. I'll add it when I get the chance. The sfx are a thing yes. If you concentrate on them it's a bit much but otherwise it kind of becomes background noise. I'll look into what I can do with the volume and stuff. Glad you enjoyed the video!
Yeah, I never expected this series to be so popular. I figured I'd get a few requests haha. I've gotten over a 100 at this point. It's added to the list, but I make no promises anymore about when it's getting done
Not as boring as it seems. This built is an excellent pit farmer. I liked it better than the zerker. Almost as fast but kill the minions also not just the mini bosses, you dont need to howl away them everything is just stunned and dies. I found much stuff with it.

Doesn't have to be expensive to be good. I've never done pure double swing I've always gone for frenzy
I thought you frenzied for stacks and double swing for max dmg

Vipermagi is always a really GG find on a run like this. I can't think of a build I wouldn't use it on

It's a very specific playstyle so I can see why they would think that. Each their own and such. I enjoy it though :)

Oh yeah a singer barb is definitely slow and steady but it wins the race. Very solid and fun build for sure.

Oh that would be very good it's what the speedrun used to do when they still used singers.
Sheild bash pala can stun bosses, stunlocking is a thing but needs to be timed right.
3:12 you should try the Diablo fight with Crushing Blow gloves. Perfect Ruby is doable in SP.
The best thing to use is grim ward + 20 points into find potion. Makes warcry deal +125% damage! When enemies are stunned they can't run away!
I have not even once ever used grim ward. Guess it's time for another barb
Best untwinked melee is thé fury druid that can use insight and then obedience

Swords dropped in both a5 normal and cow lvl can roll 4 sockets at larzuk or in cube :)

2 spirits are so good and so cheap, I just might do this in my Season 3 start build HC.
It's also very safe. It's not the fastest build but it's a very durable starter for sure.
