You know that fcr doent have any impact on the poison? Poison ticks a certain ammount no matter how often you cast the skill its only overwrites. When the mob is green the poison ticks nothing happend when you hit the mob again with poison its just wasted mana

This was super entertaining! Poison nova is one of the coolest skills imo, but there sure are a lot of poison resistant enemies in hell 💀 To be honest, after watching this I knocked any poison centric build ideas down a notch on my to-do list 😂
You really need to go all in when it comes to poison necro which is especially hard in SSF/offline since that includes having to find Death's Web in order to really see it pump out damage. Once it's going though, it's a very satisfying build.
I liked this video a lot, mate! I'm glad to see you finally plowing through the game after a rough start! Please keep making these videos 🙂 Some ideas though: - For bosses and though single enemies in general, your strategy of slowing them to a crawl is excellent. But a good addition could be to apply Crushing Blow with poison dagger strikes. Put a "Strength" Runeword into a dagger, get some blood gloves, and you can have 30-35% already. That would make boss fights a lot faster. - Act 2 mercenaries are really nice for their auras and Insight polearms, but in the early game, barbarian mercs are pretty good at tanking and distracting enemies. The two handed ones have more health than desert mercs, and also have Iron Skin and use taunt to lure damage. With two swords, you can use powerful combos with Coldsteel Eye (unique Cutlass), "Malice", "Strength" and so on. Keep it up, man! 😎👌

I could have grinded for it but I didn't think I needed to. I don't mind being patient for my victories. A barb merc would have worked as well. I just thought it was funny to edit in a bunch of times the merc died. He actually did very well all around :)

Tbh, summoning necro is also not the most fun and engaging gameplay, but at least blood golem with iron maiden proved to be a very chill way of farming bosses. Not the fastest, but still decent for passing time if im having a hangover or feel low on energy. Skeletons are cooler IMO, but it got very tedious and annoying to get corpses before every farm run 😮💨 Overall, i think frenzy Barbarian is my favorite build. That run/walk is insane, and with the fast attack speed and life leech one doesnt need a lot of potions (ive not tried it in Hell yet though).
I have some bad news about when your barbarian hits hell and the potions you will need. But you have access to the find potion skill and it is criminally underrated by the community.

Easiest probably the Griswold ng+ hammerdin. Ubers had some risk but it wasn't mechanically hard to play or anything. Hardest was the Maul bear probably cause I was just so done with that char before it actually got done

I tried a melee only Necro once. Started out with poison dagger, but the skill is hopeless. Switched to other weapons - Blizzard should let poison dagger work on all bladed weapon - and found Passion was barely cutting it. Biggest problem was AR rather than damage. Had to resort to corpse explosion to make it work at all and eventually switched to poison nova. Necro definitely doesn't have any melee options worth trying IMO. Suggestion - would a bow gemmed with emeralds be valid for this run? Does Amp damage increase poison damage? Might help with those early boss fights. Otherwise my only other suggestion has been mentioned below - to use Strength for the CB.
All weapons would be fun as well. Imagine using poison dagger with a dweb. It might actually become good at that point. Necro has very little build variety even outside of melee. I wish the class had more going on but an entire tree to dedicated support really stifles the creativity and possibilities in builds. Yes but I don't see why you would want a bow. and no it doesn't. For extra poison damage you'd want lower resist. Strength would be good
@@thenuclearrabbit You seem to be able to go face to face with Meph and Diablo in HC Normal and not get killed! For some builds that don't have a ranged attack I use a bow gemmed with emeralds so I can take down the boss at range. Takes a while but is safer. I could be paranoid but I'm sure Amp damage cast on me is doing more than it normally would. Generally, I hate amp damage on me. It often leads to death :(
Yeah that is a big part of it. I also know my maps and builds very well so I always know what I need to move on to the next part. I've also gotten used to beating the game with very budget gear
I always start a Necro as a Bone Necro, then respec later. Anyone who has any experience in playing Diablo would know to not start a Necro with Poison build.
Bosses really need that IM + clay golem treatment on poison build for playthrough. And points in CE really help too with adding that physical/fire dmg, as well as some revives
3:25 Due to this build a bit gimp it woldn't hurt to put 1 or more points into bone prison to lock group of mobs at the point with corpses for a poison explosion AND to prevent necro facing whole pack at once due to lack of AoE and survivability. Actually bone prison is a good spell even for a standard poison nova necro to bind packs while poisoning em.

Poison Necro is so much fun. Kills great in low duels. I crushed with my old OJsimpson character. Just make sure your gloves don't fit your character, so get some barb gloves or something. 🤣 But they are one of the most expensive to make for hell mode to be viable.
Congrats on the success! 👍 But why not use lower resist curse? It makes the monsters take about 3 times more poison damage and really speeds up the poisonmancer build! And bone prison? It can hold the monsters captive while you use poison nova. Anyway, great vid.🙂
Congrats! Many years ago I was thinking about poison dagger build, because the dmg was looking interesting in theory... But now I see how wrong I was for all the time. For Duriel the best would be golem + iron maiden. Iron maiden is not that good like before 1.10 but still it can beat melee monsters to dead...
Not really I mean I did things like nova stuff and even though it's slow I definitely did damage. But I will admit the merc probably was the better of the 2 of us
andariel on normal for some reasoon has a 80 poison resist, while nm and hell only have 50, so without lower resist, you hardly deal any poison damage to her. :(

This was my absolute fav build back in the day. I never found a deaths web... still to this day 😂. Ive traded for many but my ssf grail is missing this item and storm lash.

You could do ng+ playtrough with full trang set and a dweb. The cast rate is annoyingly slow. But you can give him max block and zoom like a madman without dying, especially with an hfreeze merc
As long as CS is excluded xD I know its a fire skill and very strong but that's its problem. Its literally so strong every necro just turns in to CE necro

1 point into each summon helps this necro out a lot. They make good meat shields and mages get extra damage with lower resist.

Yeah I always go all-in on a certain theme/build. I like the whole building around, trying stuff and figuring things out part of the game a lot :)
Just a note from an old Necro player, decrepify and the clay golems slow from hitting bugs Baals attacks so he does nothing.

The playthroughs with good builds take me 10-14 hours. The harder builds/runs can easily take over 30.

I've been thinking about doing a poison Dagger necro and this helped me decide that if I do it I must have Treachery.
Treachery would be so good. Just going a bit harder on farming gear would probably already help a lot. I mean I used a spineripper up to hell baal.
Best thing u can do is just not lol dagger build is horrible, nova is only strong if you have a decent deathsweb otherwise it's not great
Its not actually that bad endgame. Fanged knife plague and 3 piece trangs it does really well because of the fully synnergized poison nova procs.
Poison necro is perfect for "Pit and Cow Level"... Boss killing is a nightmare :)

Poison Nova and Decrepify do a lot of work. Slow and steady is much stronger than well... the entire spearazon

Depends on the build. I can do a good build in 10-14 hours. This took me 25 hours to do. But there have been builds that went up to 40 hours

For "pure" poison Necro builds, I like to make a iron golem out of a Bonesnap, or some other weapon with crushing blow for bosses

If I remember correctly, Andariel has like the highest poison resistance of any boss in Diablo 2.

1 point into iron maiden and 1 point into clay golem would kill any norm/nm boss easily and safely...
Actually, just get those from wand/shield if you don't want to waste points on skills you won't use afterwards!..

iron maiden charges wand is nice and let boss kill himself on a clay golem etc etc is nice for the bosses

Poison Necro is so much fun. Kills great in low duels. I crushed with my old OJsimpson character. Just make sure your gloves don't fit your character, so get some barb gloves or something. 🤣 But they are one of the most expensive to make for hell mode to be viable.

But why not use lower resist curse? It makes the monsters take about 3 times more poison damage and really speeds up the poisonmancer build!
And bone prison? It can hold the monsters captive while you use poison nova.

My merc and Golem weren't able to tank the monsters with Lower resist. Bone prison is another way to play this for sure :) Thank you!

But you do have other damage types! You just go for corpse explosion. Lower resist -> poison nova -> amplify damage -> corpse explosion.
Yeah, but the goal is to be pure poison. So no corpse explosion :) Corpse explosion is better than the entire build on it's own

Congrats! Many years ago I was thinking about poison dagger build, because the dmg was looking interesting in theory... But now I see how wrong I was for all the time.
For Duriel the best would be golem + iron maiden. Iron maiden is not that good like before 1.10 but still it can beat melee monsters to dead...

So it started as poison necro and ended up merc build.
Not really I mean I did things like nova stuff and even though it's slow I definitely did damage.
But I will admit the merc probably was the better of the 2 of us

andariel on normal for some reasoon has a 80 poison resist, while nm and hell only have 50, so without lower resist, you hardly deal any poison damage to her. :(

The best place for novamancer is pits. It clears it very fast, and with revive it's literally impossible to die, the revived monsters tank all the dmg

This was my absolute fav build back in the day. I never found a deaths web... still to this day 😂. Ive traded for many but my ssf grail is missing this item and storm lash.
I'd give you one if I could I have like 5 of them. The fully decked out version is one of my fav builds as well

You could do ng+ playtrough with full trang set and a dweb. The cast rate is annoyingly slow. But you can give him max block and zoom like a madman without dying, especially with an hfreeze merc
I want to do a bunch of NG+ runs with the Trang set. I think it'd be good for pure poison dagger melee as well
Big time psn damage. Not the best option but nothing to be overlooked at all. I tested him with an infinity hfreeze merc. So firewall did its job too
I want to try a full fire necro as well at some point. Fire golem + trang set seems fun

You can kill Andariel easy with throwing Javelins, no matter the build. They are great for champions and bosses of Act 1.
3 socketed bows also!
The thing that I love the most in his runs is the references on his characters names. Not the absolute beast that he is clearing the game SSF on HC, not his expertise in the game, not his humor, nothing.

Clay Golem +Iron Maiden and 1 point in each bosses will kill themselves smacking the golem and you just keep resummoning it.

@@thenuclearrabbit its one i have never done. I started one and gave up almost immediately after fighting Duriel. I think next go i will try a NG+ with it and see if i can make it work. But i am not in a hurry to try it again lol
Oh it will do fine in NG+. You just work your way up to a fleshripper (the fanged knife) and then it's smooth sailing.
