Love seeing your pages. Hearing about being kind to yourself is definitely something we need to remind ourselves of, for any hobby or activity, really. I haven't gone through my completed pages but I don't think I've completed as much as I have in the past but also more than my 'least colored' months. I have a lot of hobbies so if this one isn't getting love, that means something else probably is so I'm still in a good place (well, maybe not as a content creator but that is also another hobby). TFS my dear!
Thanks for flipping through your book I really enjoyed it! And hey Slumps happen and I agree let it be, you will get inspired again and if it takes time it will still be there! Sit down and hold Sergei that will always make it better!
"You want to colour, but also don't." Very accurate description, I know that feeling. Sometimes it helps me to follow a tutorial. Putting colour on paper without having to think about it can restore my motivation.
Love seeing you pages in the HK book. I usually dive into video games (yes, I know!) when I feel colouring slump and after about 2-3 days I am fed up with it and want to colour again 😂 and yes watching other colourists finished pages helps a lot! ❤❤❤
Hey, video games are great:) I don't play myself, but I love watching playthroughs and lore videos. And Zero Punctuation with No Punctuation is my current sleep-aid x) There's just something about a frustrated brit reviewing video games I will never play that does it for me atm x)
Wow seeing you flip through that book super inspired me. I hope your slump passes soon. It is tough to get through those for sure! But getting out several WIPs and seeing if one speaks to you is a great idea! Thanks for sharing ❤️
I understand completely what you mean! I feel that way often, but I don't call it a slump. I just figure I'm just unmotivated and like you said, just waiting until my drive/creativity comes back. I enjoyed seeing these works. My favorite was the monotone green bunny page. Tfs
Hm, I think not calling it a "slump" might be a good idea! Take away the negative connotation and just let it be unimportant. Doesn't even deserve a special name;)
Watching you flip through this book inspires me to try working in it finally! You could do a series of short motivational or philosophical videos while you flip a book. I especially like seeing you works in progress, and it makes me want to just have that freedom of working on whatever I want when I want with no pressure. I've recently been able to go back and finish a few WIPs from last year and it does feel good!
Oh, that's a lovely idea, thank you! I'll see what I end up doing, I'm definitely not lacking in video ideas, just battling the demons preventing me from finishing things at the moment;)
I so needed this video today. I've been in a slump this month and frustrated that I've accomplished almost nothing. Thanks for sharing! I hope you feel inspired soon ❤️
First of all, your work is absolutely incredible. I love your color choices - they are so creative and imaginative. You really know how to make each page come to life with your inspiring style. I totally understand what you are speaking about here. I have gone through these very slumps - one so huge that I actually gave up on coloring for a long time and then finally was motivated to start again and now, because of such talented colorist like yourself, I am inspired to continuously try and challenge myself and my coloring methods.
Haha my problem this month was I wanted to color with my markers but I mostly have double sided books 😅 So I was a little stuck LOL. I hope you will break your coloring slump quickly. Are you gonna participate in the group buddy color of Magic Dreamland? 😀👋
I am definitely going to try:) Can't make any promises, but we'll see^^. Not one for waterbased markers, I guess?:) They do come out a bit more streaky, I know, buuuut, if you work with the streaks instead of against them -- *goes on to preach about the wonders of waterbased markers for an hour straight* ;)
