Rico saved you from some very expensive problems. Keep that man around, he's looking out for your business
He started out has a fan trying to do hotshot and ever since we just been cool . Been the team mechanic going on 2 years now . Really good man
Naw Fr‼️🚛💨💨💨💨💯
Might connect with him looking into buying a truck
Is Rico from ohio ? We looking for a mechanic, I’m from Cleveland. Am I able to get his contact info ?
Rico is every dealership nightmare 😂😂
Team White: Offer OTS $79,500 cuz it needs a new frame and offer to eat the trip to FL plus the 10 days. Team Blue: Small spuds if the oil leak is from the bunk heater (espar?) or an oil pan gasket. Much bigger deal if it's a rear seal (or worse). Figure your cost to repair and take it off their asking price. If OTS refuses to negotiate, point your feets at the door and walk away.
With a new frame needed that truck shouldn't go over 65k
Proud of you! For bringing your mechanic and doing this video! TOLD YA!
I think the dealership guy mentioned that the white truck was from NY so it's not surprising that it had rust on it.
Right
I say keep shopping. If you replace the chassis on team white, chances are you'll fall down a repair rabbit hole, and the leaky engine on team blue, might turn into a blown engine.
All great points
I’ll get there one day Bennii. Taking my mechanic to a dealership.
Do it tomorrow
I’d take the -$10k chassis with a good engine over a small leak that could cost more than you think
I’d walk away from this dealership
@@DANIELSTv 😂😂😂 that’s also an option
That hardwood flooring is nice. Definitely something I'd have to do if I ever went with a big truck.
Facts
Yo I met u at a truck stop. I had a blk banshee on a trailer I was moving to Jacksonville Florida. We chopped it up for a few secs. I love the channel and how transparent you guys r with your income and loads and break down/ repairs! Tell pops I said what’s up mang😊😊
Rico love and respect his job, that man is a keeper..
I’m with team white I understand the rust I would check out Copart there’s a lot of wrecked Pete’s from rollover with the chassis still in good shape. And part one out if you’re looking for some cheap chassis.
I’d say go with the blue. If it’s just a leak. That would be the logical choice, but people rarely make the logical choice. We always make the emotional choice. The truck you love is gonna cost you an extra $10.5k. The only how I could justify paying that is if the drop the sticker price by nearly that much.
not hating on square nose trucks, as I love how they look, BUT, the logical choice would be an aero new truck, because you'll save ~20k a year in fuel alone. I do agree though, Blue is a wiser choice. Gotta remember this is a business, not a wife you choosing here
The white truck with the big 10 inch stacks. Nice .
Read the reiews for OTS and decide if you still want to work with them
My boy made me realize it doesn’t take much you just have to apply yourself
Apply that shit 🔥👍🏾
TEAM WHITE. If the spot you pointed out at the rear is the worst spot on the frame? Run it like it is for 3 or 4 years. Then put $10,000 into it and the truck will last for however many times you want to rebuild the cat. Good luck driver.
Surface rust is no big deal and if you want can be sandblasted and painted. Most times the first impression is the best😁These ara old trucks and there's always something. But if you like going to CA that won't work and you know it.Fuel mileage and quality parts is another thing.Good luck!🙂
Keep looking; Rico is definitely a blessing. Stay Safe, Stay Blessed
I just saw you in AZ rest area going east... truck look good!
Team white
Its a better spec truck and yes looking good in a large car counts.
As for the rust on the frame, is it just at the end of the chassis?
That's not a bad fix and frame replacement is needed. Now if it's anywhere else that is structural like where the cross member attach then you already know the time and cost of the repair.
Up in the NE chassis rust is common but it's surface rust unlike coastal rust which is much stronger and penetrate the metal faster.
It’s all over the frame
Flint creek transport on yt has a fleet of over 30 trucks, he stopped buying def trucks. Def will cost you more than a good load to California. Invest in a new chassis and still be under the blue price. Good luck.
When buying older model engines like 2WS and 6NZ, even if they have been overhaul your pretty mechanic needs to do a stall test to test for power output to see if it holds the power as supposed to ND to test for warped block. Those cat put out so much power and they start pounding the cab on hills. From the outside they are alright, both.
I would still go with the white truck!
I would say it was being used up until they bought it. Therefore you could use it for a little while and then get the chassis fixed and move on!
It is still by far the best one IMO!
I'm telling you that you did absolutely the right thing man.
So if you’d wait a few months there will be a lot more choices out there at a lower price. Plus you’ll see what business is like in the near future to determine if it’s really necessary to get another truck.
That red truck if there is oil in the coolant Thant means the oil cooler is bad where he put his hand that’s where the oil cooler is on that c15 its probably leaking oil from the oil cooler and or mixing with coolant also that red truck is a 379x that was a limited edition version made for the last year of production of the 379 before they switched to the 389 so it should be worth more
Definitely buy the 379X if it is in your budget. Those are really good for resale. Just Saying 🇺🇸 Though the White truck has frame rust. Drove alot of Petes with frame rust and never had a problem. The biggest thing is that the rear axle housings are not rusty. If they are. Run Forest. RUN.
7:13 smartest thing pops said
U betta Cop Dat Blue Joint
Honestly that white one with the 10 inch pipe would be a great truck. Yes the 900,000 miles is not too bad but it is high. But if the engine was overhauled and you planned on replacing the frame on the other white one. You’d be better off just replacing the frame on the updated interior one.
I would get another opinion on the rusted frame ive driven many a old pete with no frame problems. Just be sure the risk is worth it to you and pops
The 6nz is the truck with that engine YEAH BOI best cat ever made !!!
So I’ve heard
Brings Back memories
Man, I appreciate you sharing, kinda forgot how scary getting a used truck can be.
I’m going with team white your mechanic making a bigger deal than what it is outta the rust thing
I wasn’t able to show you the entire frame . It’s not just the spot I showed on camera it’s the entire frame .
@@truckingwithbennii then it comes down to preference which one do you see yourself in more they both have problems either way I’m still going with team white it just sounds so sexy on the road
@HotShot Bennii I'm from western NY. That's surface rust, it's nothing. A mechanic isn't a body specialist. Surface rust is entirely too easy to fix..
Just sand the rust down and throw on some chassis saver
Id go with the White truck
A mechanic may not be a body specialist but hes obviously got alot of experience working on these trucks to feel the way he does. It may be an easier choice if it was a car but you guys gotta remember these are otr trucks that haul alot of weight and the chasis is only as strong as its weakest point. Benni said its not just the one spot he showed on camera so its obviously not surface rust. Rust will get worse and worse so it will have to be replaced. The question is can you afford the 10 days downtime plus a few more days incase something doesnt go to plan, which? Im kinda leaning towards the truck with the leak but without seeing it the decision is hard from the outside looking in. An overhauled engine shouldnt be leaking that bad but could it just be an overlooked set of bolts that werent properly torque'd causing the leak or is it something more sinister? Id ask Rico plain and simple which one he would be more comfortable with knowing you need this truck asap
Great mechanic
Straight shooter 😎👍
Ohio truck sells is a tuff place to buy a truck they have alot of pigs with lipstick on them. Also, a lot of those trucks shouldn't be north of 40k, and they selling them for 70-80k. Now if you paid 40k then then put 20k into it cool. To pay double that plus do major repair is bs.
Looks sunny wya
Yes that’s bunk heater
Keep shopping!!👍
White rig and fix. Negotiate the repair cost off the asking and see what they say? Even meet in the middle and split the repair, but blue can be fixed cheaper and quicker. It really depends on what you guy’s really want. That white is pretty sharp but blue is my favorite color 🙏🏻🇺🇸💯🤙🏻
TEAMMM BLUEEE BABYYYY 😆😆
Small leak let’s say worst case scenario $5k
Vs Damaged Chasis
$10k and 10 days of not producing.
I think the blue is a better truck and it’s newer and not in as bad of a condition as the white truck. Either way thank you for the video bro, it’s taught me a lot. Love to you and pops.
Man I told my dad this !! He just loves that white truck man !! I’m team blue
Now if your wrong blown engine 35k+
@@DANIELSTv the mechanic would have said so from the beginning though
Damn that’s a tough decision
Hard asf bruh
Every comment I've read about Ohio Truck Sales says run away fast. I don't have personal experience, just passing on the multiple comments I've read.
Team white. You and your ole man love it. Plus y'all already know what it will cost to fix. I still agree buy what you're comfortable in!
I'd say team blue but what's the price difference between the 2? If the white one is a better deal even after the extra 10.5k I'd go with the white one if it's what you like more.
Buy the truck that you love, she's worth the money. Don't get stuck with second best, your going to be together a long time. It'll make you happy. 😊
I myself could fix that Rus . Because I am a welder. So that's easy for me to fix .
It’s the entire frame . Not just the part I showed you in the footage
That's one dealership I would stay very far away from heard to many horror stories about Ohio truck sales
Greetings. Try another seller. Shop around. You could describe the truck you would like to purchase on your RUclips channel and let the vendors come to you. May the best vendor win. One love from Jamaica 🇯🇲.
Blue... fix small leak... with blue you can go into cali
Bro hope you guys are doin really good ! ,can I get that info on the guy you mentioned that fix/replace chassis from Florida ?
Let’s freaking gooo I jumped back in game
That’s what’s up
New chassis, or other dealerships. Stay safe!
I’d be careful when hiring someone to swap frames because all the wiring needs to be reinstalled back carefully. I have a pick up truck that had a frame swap and now has many electrical issues due to bad grounding.
Congrats bro
What we congratulating ? Lol we still have to pick a truck bro
@@truckingwithbennii haha I said before I watched the whole vid lol IG a hoe! 😂😂😂
Team blue 🔵
Fix the leak and put it on the road.
I’m team blue trust me . Pops still likes the white . Just is he willing to spend another $10,000 down the line to fix the frame
For the money you going to spend there you should be able to find a bad ass Pete on marketplace or truck paper bro
What do you semi guys net a week not gross net I need to know if I should transition from my box truck also how many miles. It's all about numbers here.
I'll say this, there's always more options at other dealerships.
Know where you at just off the fence I'm going in a month
I am not a trucker, however I am wondering about straight pipes. How do you prevent water going down them if there is no cover? Won't that damage the system?
You can put buckets on top of them if you like when not driving
That white one🙌🏾🔥🔥🔥🔥
Please don't buy those over priced old pieces of crap. Love the video's keep them coming.
You dam right be cheap in this business and you go broke tomorrow
Run away from that white one, surface rust does not 'bubble' up like that, you can even see it on the rear axle/ differential. That frame is rusted to shit underneath that fresh paint someone put on there.
What's up with the backup truck that you'll have? Why not put a little bit more bread into that 1? Get that 1 going then come back and get the newer one. That's you can make it into CA.
What dealership is this? They got a few trucks I’d be interested in checking out
A good mechanic is worth his weight in gold. Are u able 2 negotiate on the white truck. And swap the chassis
White truck get the chassis fixed for 10k only a take you guys a couple loads to get the 10 back 🎯🤝🏾
Kid in me says white, just the way it looks and everything, but the smarter decision would be to take the blue one. Both look absolutely beautiful though
It’s tough man it is….I feel the same way . But we need a 3 rd truck running now….customers aren’t waiting on us
@@truckingwithbennii I understand, with the way shippers are, if you can't do it now, they'll find someone else who can
@@truckingwithbennii man if that is the true objective of your purchase it sounds like the answer is the truck with the quickest downtime is your answer.
Chassis not the bad. Looks like its been coated. You good with the white. Don’t lose a good truck over something petty
Smart shoppers
I going to have to say team blue to me a smalle leak can be fix within hours. I do like the white truck but the being down for 10 days. Plus if you think in a way the white will not being earning until 10 days later vs the blue truck earning alot more.
I say blue, if it’s a small leak, fix now before it becomes big, as a former technician, go blue.
White truck. Frame is fine.
If it was me. Id wait for the right buy
Where was this place at if you don’t mind sharing
Every truck has rust especially old ones! But that white truck !!
That White Truck and Blue Truck have 2 totally different Engines, that Blue Truck has an ACERT that has been singled, that white Truck is a 6nz
Blue but if you still have others take a look and take your time
White gotta have a window in the sleeper berth
Get the white one, get a deal due to rust, get that chassis and do it right.
If you think about it, everything on the white truck is good you just need a chassis
Noting like a good Cuban cigar !! Hey playboy, can you go over your headset?
Was the “rusted” truck worse than what was seen on camera? If it was just that spot on the bottom of the rail? Long as it isn’t between the “plates” Id go with it
White truck better enough if you have to replace frames
I like the red truck.. I was looking at that one.. price to high tho
Get the 379x
I say run from Ohio truck sales. We bought one 70k 2 min down the road lost all lights. Month had to do inframe got it back and had to replace trans. And bought there warranty and nothing was covered.
How many MILES
I'm going to need Rico in about a week. How can I get his information
Did i hear right tall were at ohio? What are your mechanic credentials also I'd like to see the rust but i know that impossible a lil rust want stop a work horse jmo wish you could have gotten better footage what area did the whote one come from can or did yall rig dig it or can yall reach out to the owner who use to own it
We reached out to the owner and he seemed like a good guy even got us in contact with his old employee to verify the rebuild which was a major company with their own shop . It’s just we know he was located in the upstate New York area so that could be the reason for rust . The frame did seem thin on certain areas
@@truckingwithbennii ah ok
I know some friends regret buying truck from ots with high price
I have a difference of opinion on this. My mechanic and my wife was wrong on my semi i purchased. 3 years later, it's 1 of my best decision.
You will absolutely hate that shifter
Get the white one... chassis eazy to deal with after. One cost, one fix and done! Tell truck sales to give you a 5k discount to help with cost.
Blue... emissions cost alot to fix over and over. DEF systems always fail and will cost you more than a frame job. Screw California... they just voted against trucks so why cater to that state.? Right!
Your mechanic is knowledgeable but needs doesn't understand cost if truck keeps in the shop due to maintenance... that's a bigger cost than a frame job.
Nothing is perfect... trucks come from all environments and climates.
Just my opinion.
GET THE WHITE TRUCK!!!
Team white go with 300” wb with new frame. Bam thing would look good
Is that Ohio Truck Sale's? If so, walk away..... Lol 😂😂😂
Lol
I say go for the one that would cost you less in maintenance so you make your money,
That’s Ohio truck sales junk with paint on it
