He has two supporting guitar players in his band now (David Klosinski and Niklas Turmann), who play it like the original and Tokyo Tapes versions underneath his improvising, so it sounds fine all together. I've seen him live many times in the past 10 years and wondered how he was playing it. Figured it out, and it's exactly how this poster is playing it 👍 The Tokyo Tapes version is actually my favourite, but who am I to criticise Uli the master ? Sounds like the poster here is playing off the "Scorpions Revisited" CD version from 2015, not the original version from the 70s. Still good though 👍.
As a fan of Tokyo Tapes Uli's masterpiece, nothing he did after seems to level 78 Japan Tour. He said later he was so inspired by asian atmosphere of the Sun Plaza stage. He tried to sound more pentatonical than usual, with a huge whammy bar using. A mix of Asian and Hendrix culture.
