Older Scorpions stuff are masterpieces
Any performance featuring Uli Jon Roth's guitar work is always amazing. Those early Scorps songs were so distinctive because of his playing.
Uli is a guitar God. Right up there with Ritchie Blackmore, Jimmy Page and he has the swagger and spirit of a guitar virtuoso. Which he most definitely is.
He's better than Jimmy Page, and Jimmy Hendrix. He's number one in my books.

@@daniii2323 Randy Rhoads was damn good. Played and wrote most of Ozzie's biggest songs. I did not know he was true classical guitarist like Blackmore's Knight, or ULI playing with several symphony recordings.
@@robertruck5501 I wouldn’t say true classical guitarist but in an interview he mentions learning and using classical in some songs like the solos on Mr. Crowley

Scorpions Family Reunion
He didn't 'come back'...he left the band back in 1979 or so because he had a different direction he wanted to go in with his music. They have been friends all these years. There was no fighting, no animosity... He simply made a guest appearance during this show. It was definitely good to see him playing the leads he wrote some 50 years ago...pure genius...he is touring now...catch him while you can! Well worth the time, money and effort!
I discovered this Epic song a year ago and I'm a full blown iconic rocker from the early 80s til the day I die with my mullet of coarse. There were so many great bands and iconic songs that early scorpions eluded me I love the scorpions and can't believe I forgot to go back and revisit the music I didn't have time for. It's like being reborn discovering new music from back in the day and I can truly say we had it made when it came to music in the 60s 70s 80s and early 90s.

One thing you'd notice about him is that music is soooo thick in his blood. Has a very sensitive touch and melody is unbelievable that I don't know where he gets them from

Uli Jon and Frank Marino are like musical counterparts to me. Uli Jon has the European classical side while Marino is the American blues/jazz end. Both informed by Hendrix. Both could easily hang with EVH.

Uli is more of neo classical while Matthias is more of modern hard rock. Their guitar approach and orientation is different and you can really identify whos who. Not to mention Michael who share also his guitar prowess. Scorpions one of the greatest bands in the world.

Shivers, teary eyes, heart full of emotions, mind full of pictures of my beloved girl, like feeling high... at one part when Rudy tried to approach Uli, Uli was just like "don't come closer, this is something I've always wanted to dedicate to Monika" - pretty touching, actually... I don't want to offend Matthias, but he just doesn't have the touch for this song - no matter how brilliantly he plays it, Uli will still own him in "We'll Burn the Sky" solos...
Jabbs didn't originally write this song Roth did so ya i would think jabbs wouldn't play it as well

Not often...always since he had it tailored. It's called sky guitar. He has at least 2 originals and nowadays he has partnered with Norris Dommenget to build and sell variations of the classic models.

They needed a Jabs vs Roth guitar off and I know people love Uli, Jabs can play a fucking guitar amazingly well to. Look at everything he's done, the man can lead.
Honestly I give it to Jabbs. Uli is undeniably great, he was a pioneer and is definitely more melodical in his playing… but Jabbs is technically better. The harmonics and speed in the solo to Dynamite blows away everything I’ve ever heard from Uli.
That said, I still think this song is better than anything the scorpions ever did with Jabbs.
