The metro area only has 1.1 million inhabitants and Gbg isn't precisely a hot tourist destination. Furthermore, many Swedes own summer houses, travel abroad a lot or prefer to stay at home, alternatively be at work when there's too much of sunshine.

Yes, those of Balkan origin are. During the 50s and 60s, a lot of people from former Yugoslavia immigrated to Sweden. They were incredible people.
