After nearly fifty thousand attempts "Zoink" has finally verified Tidal Wave the new top 1 and hardest level in Geometry Dash. This level takes a unique dive into what an top 1 can look like with a little personality!

The one wave in the middle of the level with the beach background creates a really cool water atmosphere and I can’t really put my finger on how it does it. Best part of the level for me
It's really cool!! The way the whole level has little effects that makes it feel like you are at the beach is so unique
It's prolly the yellow + blue wave structure color

Tidal Wave really grew on me for the past week or so. According to LeTim, the level has 200 frame perfects on 60hz and 50+ are in the first wave alone. This level is nuts!
glad it's even possible on 60 tbh

Tidal wave is an amazing top 1. The decoration, the gameplay and everything else. Some gameplay is wacky tho. Being in the verification stream for ZOINK and seeing that he beat it was amazing 🎉

Garbadge layering, bad optimization, 0 structuring past 50%, 4 total background changes (that are somewhat noticiable) and very useless easing move triggers. Gameplay is meh at some parts and there’s floating objects for some reason

This level looks cool, ridiculously difficult but still cool, also I just like the fact that the song isn't like Slaughterhouse lmao
unironically the best top 1 the game has had! The personality of the level is just so awesome (and the song is peak). The effects add a whole layer of visual awesomeness on top of everything, and playing it in game makes it look 100x better
the meatriding is crazy (epic worthy tho)

BTW, congrats on 7k! I like the level, not the best, but a step in the right direction. It's been 4 years since we got a non hell/edgy themed top one. Definitely deserves the throne!

I really liked Tidal Wave because of the decoration, it was very beautiful and gave the level a very good atmosphere, as well as escaping that endless sequence of Hell Levels
I think Tidal Wave will be the level which breaks the streak of verifying one new top 1 for every year.

I love this level. This level has a ton of precise clicks to make it difficult. The fact that this level isn’t hell themed makes everything better. I love to see somthing different that the community has to offer.

I really like this level because it doesn't have straight fly of any kind and yet it still has otherworldly difficulty and overall pretty good gameplay and the design is unlike any other demon. GGs to Zoink!!

I’m going to be a contrarian here and say that this level really isn’t all that good.
I feel like the only reason it’s getting people to freak out is the fact that it’s a blue level instead of a red hell themed level, but beyond the theming this level has some very questionable deco choices that range from basic to that really dubious looking middle where they tried to mix a bright simple background with black glow early 2.1 block deco.
The gameplay as well… look past all the fancy effects and it’s just copy pasted fast hard wave over and over again. It’s something we’ve seen in nearly every top 1 since sonic wave and it’s getting really old. It’s very rare to see any Robot or Spider representation in modern top 1s because all of it is fast wave and straight fly for some reason. Also just an aesthetic thing, I’m not really a fan of this song. It’s synced well and it works for the theming, but that vocal sample really grates on my nerves for some reason.
the second wave is very different from the first one it just has very similar structuring so it looks like its almost the same

I like it because it's not super hyper omega way too edgy and hell themed, but the stuff I don't like are that the game is now way too hard + I feel like a lot of parts lack some needed polish
The game itself is not "too hard" nothing stops you from just playing easier levels
yep that's a totally fair review 👍for their first solo level it's really good, but for sure would love to see onlilink grow as a creator and see what they do in the future

While it’s nice having a top one that isn’t hell themed, I wish we had a better to do it, this level doesn’t feel like a top one, it feels underwhelming for a top one, plus is feels no different than any other top one we’ve gotten recently, just fast paced wave carried bs. I wanna see something fully original for our new top one. This is a step in the right direction.
