Are you not able to program this for a custom caliber by entering Projectile OD, BC, and MV? Doesn't seem like the correction info would be very accurate without inputting the correct information.

Of course you have to connect them to a fully controlled app to be able to use their full potential... How surprising. Thank you but I stick with my regular trusty ones.

Hello. Help me figure out the compass calibration please. I do everything according to the instructions, but I don't finish step 1 (spin drift on, garmin / kestrel solution off, left the apartment, rotate slowly, bluetooth is on, and fury connect)

(the application sees binoculars, there is a connection icon, spin On, kestrel solution Off, keep devices Yes. Spun slowly, faster, at the same speed.) ...

You bet! You can chance your distance increments to meters.

My Fury AB is not consistent with sending/receiving ranging info to the Kestrel and receiving the correct DOPE back from the Kestrel. I set everything up, establish the Bluetooth connection and then it will work intermittently. When I range a target sometimes I see the Kestrel get updated with the range and my DOPE received by the Fury AB is accurate. Most other times the range is not updated in the Kestrel when I take a new target range with the Fury AB so the DOPE displayed in the FURY AB is not correct (it is actually the previous DOPE from the last target I ranged since the Kestrel doesn’t seem to receive the updated target range from the Fury AB). The Bluetooth connection on the Kestrel still shows connected, and it just worked a second ago with the previous target I ranged so this is very frustrating. Please help!

Turns out the problem is with the Bluetooth connection not re-establishing itself after the Fury AB binos go to sleep. So the fix is to not let your Fury binos time out which will burn through your battery or turn on and off again the Bluetooth on the Kestrel to reestablish another connection with the Fury binos. Neither solution is ideal and I really wish they would update the firmware on the Fury binos to correct this problem. Customer support is already aware of this issue.

@@Lhotta thanks for the reply. I have noticed in my testing that by turning Bluetooth off and back on in the Kestral does work. Thank. The reason I got the AB and paid the extra money was to speed up the process of getting my fire solution (DOPE). When hunting in South Africa and the way we hunt you will have game passing. One person behind the rifle and one spotter. The spotter had to be on glass making sure another deer does not walk past the one the shooter is aming for and he needs to give me constant feedback on the distance and DOPE. We have another brand rangefinder but this added more equipment in the equation so I was so excited when Vortex came out with the AB that can talk to the Kestral. Thus how nice for the spotter to be able to give me my dope and be on glass. This is the picture Vortex is selling to the public and we are paying the price. Looking at all the information available no one is talking about how if the Vortex goes to sleep it will show connect on the Kestral within 2sec but the Fury will not send the new range to the Kestral. What makes this even worse is the Fury will display a fire solution but this fire solution will be for the last distance before it went in sleep mode. Thus if you got a fire solution for 400 yard every DOPE the Fury now display will be for 400 yards. Now before you can pull that trigger you first need to check and make sure the data you received is correct. This is not what I expected from a reputable expensive peace of equipment. If this issue can be solved this would be one of my best purchases and investment I have made and truely hope Vortex does not leave there customers with this issue.
Totally agree with you! This is something they really need to fix and am hoping it can be done in a firmware update. The problem is deceiving because it appears everything is working when in actuality it is giving you old dope from the last scan after the binos have timed out. Only other way around this that I have found besides switching the Bluetooth on and off on the Kestrel every time the Binos time out is to change the setting on the Binos so they never time out and go into sleep mode but this will chew through your batteries.😢. Vortex please help!
