Absolutely obsessed with this series; Foxhole is everything I've wanted in a total war sim, but your story telling, editing, and map play is just picture perfect.
This fine man has summed it up perfectly. Personally I love "cog" games. Where each person has a role to play in something bigger of which is directly dependent on each of you. Regiments, bands of real people organizing completely original moves and being the reason for success or defeat. Even LOGI is a much needed bit of realism. Though I understand it's boring ah and somewhat difficult at that. I salute you LOGI!
See that, if we live in an alternate reality where cannon distances are less than 100-200 meters. We'd probably see tank units adopting the similar style of warfare - that of the dance of kiting and quick to-and-fro pushes. I mean, realistically it might be an arms race between a better alpha strike capabilities vs maneuverable armor technology. But for budding tank warfare were both sides have roughly the same tech level, you'll have tank brawls like these. Fascinating.
Thats what ww2 urban tank combat was. kiting, dancing, itsn ot talked about but tank* brawls* were fairly commen in the russian front as the russians realized the german tanks had the advantage at range.
I dig this Foxhole content so much, for a game I once had no interest in to become one of my new favourites to watch and at the top of my Christmas wishlist MoiDawg sure has done a lot of free advertising for the game. Another great one.
Imagine just chilling on the trench waiting to supplies arrive to attack, and then you take a look and see multiple enemy tanks shaking the ground and eating anything they find on the way Truly horrifying
God i love the storytelling, and its surprisingly accurate to the War (i say that in the sense that as one person is hard to get a good grasp of how all the fronts are going.) one thing though, 5:17 that is a Char 2 C, i believe you wanted to refer to the Char 2 b
I really love how you guys used Devitts! A lot of people underestimate those tanks once the silverhand is unlocked, but they still have a role to play in combination with other tanks.
A little correction: The Silverhand is more like a Char B1 Bis, not the FCM Char 2C. The Char 2C had a turret with a single 75mm gun and 4 MGs spread throughout the hull. The B1 Bis had a 47mm anti tank gun in the turret and a 75mm howitzer in the hull, aimed and fired by the driver, because French tank design can be weird like this. Love this series! Hope I get enough free time to play foxhole once semester break rolls around!
@@KusunokiSG47 The T-28 had two smaller turrets and a big one with a 76mm gun. Though I can see what you mean, Warden tank turrets especially look a lot like early Soviet tank turrets.
@@tacitus7698 its not really a B1, like you said the B1 had an AT-gun in the turret and a howtitzer aimed by the driver in the hull. the Silverhand is more like a Grant (37mm AT in turret and 75mm AT* in hull with a dedicated gunner, the silverhand does not have a driver-fired howitzer in the hull but a 68mm AT with a dedicated gunner. furthermore the B1 had a 1-man turret and the silverhand has a 2-man turret which is closer to the grant (dedicated commander and dedicated gunner like the silverhand, only difference is the grant also has a dedicated loader). while the tracks, engine and turret don't really look like a Char B1 either. according to the devs its Inspiration came from the Char B, M3 Lee, Churchill Mk1, and the Neubaufahrzeug, although the char B elements were more for earlier versions of the vehicle.

I remember this battle! My crew and I were on the far left flank in a silverhand keeping our eyes out for sticky rushers, we had no idea where you guys disappeared to when daybreak came around. Now I know xD
I've become obsessed with this series as well. That tank battle was an absolutely epic confrontation, and I feel like if it were irl it'd be something that was studied by future war historians for decades and centuries.
Poosh em Poosh em Poosh em, back up back up. This Deadland's session was the night I played Foxhole from like 7pm to freaking 7am. I couldn't stop, I wouldn't stop. Would do again for Moi and the Royal SPUDS!
I remember this fight, I was a colonial medic on the frontlines, and I can guarantee you there were many screams for allied armor and curses at enemy armor.
Bought foxhole at the end of war 81. Havent played anything else since. And the devitt and ironhide are so underrated. Now everybody want to use the outlaw, i still like to run devitts.
I just spent about $180 on new games for christmas and god damn it if Moi hasn't added another one to the list. Loving this series so much, gained a new sub :)
I'm an enthusiastic user of the scout and cavalry tanks. I'm an armored cavalry (ACAV) commander, I lead small elements, often just one or two tanks and a truck with supporting infantry on recon and raiding missions against the goblins. We probe enemy defenses for weak points, opportunisticly destroying enemy structures such as watchtowers, and perform hit and fade attacks against the enemy, causing disarray away from the front line. Once cavalry tanks are available, we use them for similar purposes, often using our superior mobility to pull off flanking maneuvers rather than attacking head on. Sometimes it goes badly for us, even a fast tank is quite vulnerable if unsupported, but when it goes our way, we cause damage greatly disproportionate to the cost of our vehicle. We usually don't use armored cars for this purpose since off road mobility and a cannon are both essential to the role, a combination which no armored car currently has.
Colonial soldier 1 : ... hey man, do you heard the sound of engins? Colonial soldier 2: ammm... i think i do. The Wardens : *BLITZKRIEG INTENSIFIES* This game is awesome, i wish i could play it in my potato laptop xd.

The fact that the war rages on while ur away blows my mind, so is it a 24/7 game? server? or is it like 8 hours kinda thing and then players get a break? how does it work? phenomenal content and great game! never even heard of it and now i cant stop watching it lol
Its a persistent war fought until one side captures all of the major regions. It can last a few weeks or a month. You choose your team at the start of the war and cant change it later.
Yay the Northern front is the only place were wardens have not gotten owned in war 84 were SPUDs are. The South and especially the center they are getting owned. The back lines are pathetic. Shard 2 has better base Building on both sides than Warden war 84 has.
"Hey, if they think its a stupid idea that we attack at night, lets attack at night!" Flawless, love it.
It sounds like a master plan from Blackadder
@@TimoRutanen So cunning you could put a tail on it and call it a weasel.
