Solver is a tool in Excel that is great at finding an optimal (exact, maximum, or minimum) value for a formula cell, which is referred to as the objective cell. This objective cell is subject to constraints on the values of other cells in a worksheet. So you will need to set up your problem and then Excel’s Solver works with a group of variable cells that are linked to your objective and constraint cells and adjusts the values to retrieve a solution given all limitations.
In other words, Solver will change a group of cells that you specify, while controlling for certain rules you put in, to find an optimal solution for your problem!
