Just got this mixer, honestly, i had the PS11 on reserve but their manufacturing is out of whack due to chip shortage, so I thought i was going to regret thos purchase…. NOPE!! Im in love with Rane Rane 72mk11. This thing is a beast. Dont let the layout fool you, once the muscle memory kicks in, you’re all good. And this works nicely with Ableton too!!

This mixer is the holy grail of what turntabists like myself needed it was a no brainer when shopping for a mixer.....job well done Rane!!!! Also the 12mk2 feels like I'm on 1200s !!!!!!
I think a feature to discuss would be the usage of this mixer as an audio interface... many DJs are streaming now and I would think this mixer has the ability to turn one of the USB ports into the connection to the streaming computer for use as an audio interface?
Just ordered mine. Been a rane user for many year, but went over to pioneer for awhile, honestly, i was ordering an upgraded mixer and pioneer has been out of stock for over a year, so i thought let me try this 72 out . Definitely need to get familiar with this mixer.

U should be able to just plug in a usb stick with music on it that was loaded on serato. And upload It on the touchscreen with no computer. Like we can with everything else "pioneer/denon sc 5000" these days.
Can the sampler be used when I am in Phono/CD mode on both decks if I am playing regular vinyl? On the Rane 62 I am able to still use the sampler while I am in Phono/CD mode ok both decks. I returned the Rane 70 because I couldn’t use the sampler while I was playing regular vinyl.
any ideas as to why I can not control the waves on the left deck. I touch the screen to navigate thru the track but I am only able to control the right deck .

Wouldn’t it make sense that mixers are recording at 32 bit float at this point now? We are paying so much for mixers now! There are audio interfaces that are cheaper in cost that do 32 bit float. Seems like this should be a definite thing for all serious DJ mixers at this point.
the higher number doesn t mean it s the better choice. Audiomixing Consoles use 32Bit floating to have a wide DR Dynamic Range, in dig Audio a Bit equals 6dB of Gain, so 32 floating equals even more than 192dB DynRange. For comparison A 16Bit44.khz Audio CD has 96dB DynRange. So if playing a cd in a 32Bit Environment u d have 48Bit useless data cluttering. big Mixing consoles like Digico SD7s n similar use that cause they handle very complex gainstructure capabilities. u can have a low gain signal and add a lot of dig gain while a hoter signal needs dig gain attenuation so in your dig summing u can bring them into a usable relation to mix. as for DJ Tracks, mastered Audio has very small DR, e.g classical music wenns its played on radio has maybe 20dB DR, Electronic beats mostly 6dB DR RMS ormaybe 12 to 18… everythings possible. So from softest sound to loudest u dom t want super high DR. the listenener would have to crank up his listening device superhard to hear the softest part when he listenes to 32Bit Signals then when the loudest part comes up, he most likly blew his speakers. fuck numbers use common sense. dig audio is a huge topic and that wasjust scratching the surface… hope it helps ✌🏼
Can you make a firmware upgrade on the first 72 so I can disable the crossfader please. Would like the option so I wouldn’t have to use the crossfader 24/7. Without having a option to disable the crossfader, you eventually will hit into it and shut off a live channel. Please Rane Please.
@@talltrini10 I spin hip hop but I also spin house music. Spinning house music I use the channel faders, I don’t need the crossfader, there’s your answer. It should be a option since Serato gives you the option inside the software when you are using a controller.

Neither the 70 or 72 can do this but it could be made possible with a firmware update.

No, Pad FX is exclusive to the 72
can we turn off the animated pop up on the screen everytime we change pad selective mode (sampler, cue, roll etc) ?

Check to see if you are in ABS mode instead of REL, if so, that may be the cause.

You cannot use more than one at the same time on a single laptop since Serato only connects to one device at a time to unlock it.
